    About to T off!

This is a beautiful golf course with well maintained greens. The outdoor lounge area is spacious with umbrellas at the tables to provide shade. I participated in a golf tournament here and it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive! Give this course a try no matter what your skill level.

Our wedding day couldn't have been more perfect at Bretton Woods Country Club. Gorgeous venue & great service! Clubhouse manager, Kevin Kozak, is absolutely wonderful, helpful and delightful to work with. I cannot speak highly enough of Kevin and his staff. THE VENUE: The grounds of the venue and golf course are absolutely beautiful for an outdoor wedding. There are two gorgeous backdrops that provide just the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony. Our ceremony took place under a pair of gorgeous trees and it was absolutely beautiful. Unlike most hotel ballrooms which are boring, simple and lack that extra oomph, the Potomac Ballroom at BWRC offers a different experience for your reception; it has cathedral ceilings, large windows overlooking the golf course, decorative ledges and a fireplace with a mantle. We were SO glad to have found a venue that offered beautiful grounds, spectacular views, and excellent service at a reasonable price. The venue is a little tucked in but accessible to major highways. It is off 495N on River Road (190) and just about 30-35 minutes from the DC/Northern VA area. THE FOOD & SERVICE: We continue to receive several compliments from our guests about how excellent everything was; from the venue, the décor, the service, and the food. We served the semi-boned chicken breast with roasted potatoes and asparagus to our guests for dinner and it was delicious. All in all it was a wonderful experience. My husband and I have nothing but positive things to say about Bretton Woods and manager Kevin Kozak. Please do yourself a favor and make sure you check out this venue when planning your wedding. Highly recommended!

Bretton Woods is a decent golf course that I enjoy coming to play. I haven't experienced club amenities but the members seem enjoyable.

The Rec Center: Overall, I liked the layout of the rec center, and the folks that helped with getting a card were SUPER friendly and helpful. While I have not officially used the rec center, I was a bit disappointed with the the size of the weight room. The size of the weight room reminds of a weight room that one would find in a hotel. However, the gym did look like it had everything that one would need for a decent workout. Also, I was a bit surprised that the rec center does not open until 9 am on weekdays (and Saturday). Based on my prior rec center experiments, I'm used to rec centers opening from 5:30 to 7 am. Then again, perhaps, these hours are for the summer months. The Library: Again, the librarian who signed me up for a card was very friendly. Also, I loved how she gave me a very thorough overview of this branch's services and resources. Although I was in the library for only a few minutes, I thought it was very well organized.

This was our first time here and I did not know that this was more than just a library. Well first of all the library was great and my daughter was quite excited to read one of her favorite books to me. After reading we explored this place as something for everyone.....ping pong tables pool table, video games, basketball courts, indoor track, weight room, lots of event rooms and a playground outside for the little ones. The staff there were very friendly. Will definitely be back.

Before deciding to go here, I'd like you to think about one word: RULES…read more This splash park has a LOT of them, and I do mean a LOT. You can't exit, even if you forgot something at your car. You can't bring in water bottles with water in them. No jewelry or even an Apple Watch on the slides. I forgot my phone in the car, and was only allowed to get it when the manager escorted me. The workers were nice enough about enforcement, but it all got a little tiring after awhile. This is a municipal park, not DisneyWorld. Chill. As for the park itself, it's fine. A big (not particularly deep) pool, surrounded by 3 slides (one for tykes, another for under 7, and the grandaddy of them all, which is towering). There was plenty of space for sitting and umbrellas. The bathrooms are clean, the pool and slides are well maintained and there are lifeguards everywhere. The water is ice cold, and there are vending machines. Outside food is allowed (maybe this is just due to covid, there was a grille but it was closed), but don't get cute trying to sneak in liquor because they do search your bags thoroughly. I get the sense the city really cares about this facility and treats it accordingly. But check beforehand. Weekends are for city residents ONLY. Nobody from outside MoCo is allowed in, and they will check your ID to confirm. For some reason, I was only charged $6 (the city rate) instead of $11 (I like in Silver Spring) so that admittedly influenced my rating. I might have been a but harsher (because rules) had I paid full cost. My kids (ages 9 and 12) got a bit bored after awhile, but for the price, this isn't a bad way to blow an afternoon.

There are two open gyms - one with 4 courts for beginners and intermediate players and the other with 3 courts for advanced players. In addition to drop-ins, free beginners clinics are also provided on Fridays between 8:30 am and 10 am. These helpful clinics are conducted by advanced player volunteers and they are very beneficial for those who are interested in learning to play pickleball for the first time. Pickleball is offered indoor at Bohrer Activity Center during Fall, Winter and Spring sessions. For the summer months, it is moved outdoor to Diamond Farms Park, Gaithersburg. For each indoor session, there is a fee of $3 for Gaithersburg residents and $4 for non-residents for participating in the drop-ins and clinics which is a good deal when compared to other indoor court time or activities. There is no fee for outdoor sessions however. So beginners will get free clinics outdoor on Fridays. So for those who are interested in the fastest growing sports in U.S., we are fortunate to have this facility with venues for all levels of skills nearby. You may want to contact City of Gaithersburg (see link below) for the period when they move outdoor prior to venturing out to Bohrer Park. https://www.gaithersburgmd.gov/recreation/sports/adult-sports-programs

It was a great combination for both the kids and adults. The inflatable waterpark kept the kids busy for the entire session. We went early when it was less crowded, and it became noticeably busier later. In the afternoon, we completed the green and blue aerial trails. Despite having prior rafting experience and maintaining strong physical fitness, this individual tubing trip presented hazardous conditions with virtually no on-water safety support. Key Issues Observed: No Helmets Suggested or Required: Helmets were not recommended, suggested, or provided for navigating rocky rapids. I capsized and hit my head on submerged rocks--a dangerous hazard that warrants clear guidance and mandatory head protection. Zero Rescue Personnel: No river guides or safety kayakers were stationed along technical sections. When participants were pinned against rocks or stranded in strong currents, there was no staff to assist. Inadequate Instruction & Extreme Strain: Relying solely on arm paddling through boulder gardens offers minimal control and quickly causes physical exhaustion, even for fit individuals. Equipment Failures: Some tubes were punctured by sharp rocks, leaving guests stranded in turbulent water with no emergency extraction protocol. Commercial river outfitters have a basic duty of care to provide essential protective gear, clear instruction, and active supervision. I strongly advise making sure these safety practices are in place before booking unless you have experience and are comfortable without the precautions.
