The last thing anyone should have to deal with when a family member is on hospice is any unnecessary stress or turmoil- all we want to do is be present and spend as much time as we can with that loved one. Healing Care Hospice enabled us to do that and were such a blessing to work with during such a hard time in our lives. My aunt came under their care a little under a month ago. She had many health issues and fought her way out of the hospital and post acute care center to be home with us, where she wanted to be. My family members and I had never taken care of a family member on hospice and we were all worried as to how we would manage. Healing Care Hospice came into our lives and we thank God for it. They arranged everything and kept us in the loop with what they were doing, always. Any questions we had, the social worker, on call nurse, hospice nurse, everyone was just a phone call away. Everyone we worked with was professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly loving and compassionate. They treated my aunt like the beautiful person that she was, and offered us their support as well. From the nurses- Teresa, Victoria, Clementine, Alejandra, David- to the social worker Jessica, to the on call nurse Julia, to the spiritual chaplain Carlos- everyone was so so kind and helpful. My aunt was under their care for a close to a month and sadly she declined abruptly over this last weekend. Having someone from Healing Care with us during her last few days especially, relieved so much fear and made us feel safer. I can't put into words how grateful we are for everything they have done for us. They walked us through her last days with love and kindness every step of the way. They were with us up until she took her last breath, and after. When she passed they handled contacting everyone they needed to, and let us know that they are here for us as well. They offered grief counseling for all of us as part of my aunt's care, for up to a year after her passing. They checked up on us and continued to answer any questions we had. If my aunt had to be on hospice, if this was her time to go, we are grateful that she spent her last weeks under such amazing care. Thank you, Healing Care Hospice, for all you do and for having such a wonderful team. Some specifics: initially, hospice nurses came to check on my aunt multiple times a week- to clean her, to help her and us with anything she needed. Any time we had questions outside of the times the hospice nurse was here- we called the on call nurse who was always quick to pick up and answer any of our questions. When needed, they would send someone out to us quickly. When we asked for more help with getting my aunt into her wheelchair to be transported to dialysis, they worked with us to try and make this happen. When my aunt's condition began to decline, they moved her onto continuous care to try and manage her symptoms, which meant they had someone here with her 24/7. Three nurses a day, 8 hours shifts each. The whole time they worked with us they made sure she was comfortable, safe, and had everything she needed. My wife has received generally excellent care from Healing Care Hospice. We just had an excellent LVN named Genesis provide perhaps the best dressing for my wife's catheter opening that she has received in this process, and Genesis overall work was very professional. Hospice is a word no one wants to hear, much less have to make that decision to place your loved ones under. However, when the decision was made to place mom under hospice and have a CNA come twice a week to shower her, they sent the best one for my family. JoHana has been extremely caring while making sure all of mom's needs are met during her shower. She's very patient and thorough when showering her. Making sure mom is clean and fresh with her hair combed and ready to start her day. You can tell when someone loves what they do...and JoHana exuberantly displays that. read more

Sadly My mother is on Home hospice, I can't say enough about the wonderful, care that she is receiving. The employees have been very helpful. From Maya, Leo, Anthony and Elizabeth all have listened and provided me the assistance needed through this difficult time. When you hear the word Hospice you automatically think, the worse. When I was told my mother qualified for Hospice, I had no idea what I in was in for. The program was explained to me and I agreed to have my mom come home and get care from Healing Care Hospice. It's been six months since my mom came home from the nursing home and since Healing Care Hospice took over, I have never been so pleased with such amazing service and care. Immediately Healing Care Hospice made arrangements for a hospital bed to be delivered, oxygen tanks, medication, diapers, wipes, creams, pads and anything else that was needed for the comfort and care of our mother. My mom was assigned to a nurse, a CNA, a social worker, a pharmacy and a chaplain and they have all been so pleasant and so caring. Healing Care Hospice has an amazing team, even when you call their 800 number they immediately handle your needs with professionalism. I want to thank our amazing Johana (my moms CNA) who has always made, not only my mom who is getting the care but my dad feel so special. She cares for my mom with such dignity and respect. She keeps my mom clean and she is very thorough when she is bathing her. Johana always comes in with a smile on her face and is always so Pleasant. My dad suffered from dementia and needed medical care at home. The Healing Care Hospice team helped my dad and our family tremendously. Here are some of the people I was able to meet and would like to recognize for they commitment to assist our family. Having Nurse Moses handle the care of my day in the last years was a blessing. Moses is a compassionate, amazing person. We appreciate how Moses was able to recognize what was needed to make my dad's last days easier. He made arrangements for 24 hour care at my dad's bedside in the last days. Nurse Mariana helped administering the medications and oxygen as needed in the last hours. We would have been lost in pain and panic without her. We also would like to thank our Social Worker Mannette Flores for all the hours invested at visiting my parents. She was always in the battlefront making sure they got the care needed and was able to provide information necessary to work things out. Morena was at our side when my dad was transported to the hospital and made the calls to our insurance to cover the costs. The Healing Hospice team is lucky to have Adrian in the team. He was in charge of giving my dad a bath every other day. Adrian is super friendly, respectful and patient and seemed to love his job. I would like to express my appreciation for the kind and loving care that was given to my father. He passed away on April 21, 2018 and they made his last days as good as possible. We had to put my mom on hospice in the begging of May. She lived with us for 12 years. We were so scared to choose from the four places we interviewed. From the moment we met Joe from Healing Care we knew this was the place that we needed. Joe was professional, caring and humble. He explained everything thoroughly. He met my mom and our family and when we mentioned names of other hospices that we were interviewing he had nothing but good things to say. He never pressured us to choose his company. Once we got started we were taken care of completely . . Everything was brought to my home quickly. Immediately my mom started being cared for so lovingly by every staff member that entered my house. We are Christians but even the Chaplin they sent was so good. Never pushy and very caring. I was the main caregiver for my mother and sometimes I was scared. I never ever felt alone. I could call at anytime and get assistance. Our RN Shewit was so loving and caring. She never left without making sure we were comfortable. Alicia would come and bathe my mom . My mom loved talking to her and she felt safe and respected. Joseph and all the other nurses that came for 24 hour care towards the end always went the extra mile . I feel so blessed and lucky that my mother's doctor highly recommended Healing Care Hospice - I don't know what I would have done without their help and caring. Besides being professional, they also provide for the needs of the patient as well as the immediate family, physical as well as emotional. If some equipment is needed, or is not working properly, they fix or swap out asap. The staff walks the family through any procedures that have to be done on the patient's behalf, like wound care, and if comfort care is necessary, they're on top of that as well with medications that were tailored for my mother. For families that don't want medications for their family member, I understand they make provision for that as well. If there are family tensions, the hospice has mediation services to help. It's as if the organization sat down and thought out "what would I want/need if it was someone in my family that was suffering?". They even have additional helps if/when the inevitable happens. When I felt overwhelmed from taking care of my mother, or if I needed emergency help, someone with a smiling face and a generous heart would show up sooner or later, even if they had to travel after hours or big distances! I cannot say enough good things about them. Even the employees have good things to say about Healing Care - how rare is that?!? My mother felt well-cared for up until she passed; I don't think you can ask for anything better than that. read more
