I've watched this market grow from a budding toddler to post pubescent adults, & while they now have a physical location in Pearland, for anyone who just read that sentence and thought "but that's too far", this review (of 1st Friday & second Saturday market held at the Buffalo Soldier Museum) is for you. I truly have a love affair with Blck Market Houston (and yes, they leave out the A). One of the largest meets of black owned businesses & entrepreneurs, they really puts the ease in supporting local black owned businesses. In the last few years, I've noticed a spike in vendor variety- artists, bakers, coffee cos, clothing, plants, alt milk, waist beads, "you name it"! Plus, there's often food trucks & live entertainment, so the whole event feels like a mini festival. They offer both indoor & outdoor vendors. My friend even held her book launch here (back in the before times). They've also recently pivoted to maintain a safe environment during "these uncertain times", so if you're truly looking to learn about/support small black businesses in the greater Houston area, they have you covered. Just make sure to get a ticket ahead of time.

As I've said before, this is a pretty awesome plaza right off of the Interstate 10 Highway on the North side which is also known as the Katy freeway. It's almost directly across from the Memorial City Mall and has a bunch of cool stores in it where me and Barbi go all the time. The HEB is why she usually comes here, great Nordstrom Rack, great Academy, awful Five Guys. Awful Olive Garden too. So don't come here to eat - ew. Loses one star only because the drivers and parking here can suck so much and the light to turn in off Bunker Hill is so weak. Not to be confused with Vajayjay Pleasure, which is kinda why Barbi dates me.

I'm very lucky to shop here after work as the rest of mall already closed. Yeah, there are over 50 businesses at Village Plaza at Bunker Hill and it's like a shopping town by itself. I could spend all day here. I like the convenience to Katy freeway and Beltway. Weekends are the busiest to come around here. That's why I choose to shop on weekdays and not during evening commute hours. The parking was kind of hectic during the busy holiday season. Good job to Lou for This is a big and solid mall with all kinds of options and choices and they're not too bad in general, but they do have a few issues on the other hand, such as a lot of very rude drivers and a lot of the stores closing down and some bad traffic, and it can be really hard getting in and out of some of these parking lots because of the awful traffic. It's designed well but probably not for all the large volume of people that comes in and out of this area. I do however like it around here and there is a great boba shop and Vietnamese restaurant here that I like a lot.

Starts from southeast side of mall, they got Panera Bread, Sally Beauty, Marble Slab Creamery, Kublai Khan Mongolian, Lane Bryant, Sport Clips, Nails Club and Bath & Body Works. Hop over the driveway to another building starts with Party City, Payless Shoe Source, Five Below, Famous Footwear, Old Navy, Ross Store, Pet Smart, Northern Tools and K&G Fashion. There are 2 buildings in the front to house Chipotle, Mattress Firm and Visionworks in one and Brew Wings and Verizon Wireless in another. There are few vacancies. I hope they bring more restaurants here. Highway 290 construction is completed and traffic is getting much smoother than ever.
