RUNNNNN!!! Paid an extra $700 for a "guaranteed pickup day." They towed my car to a lot, held it for days, missed the date they sold me, and refused a refund. I used this company more than once before and gave them the benefit of the doubt. That is over. I paid an additional $700 specifically for a guaranteed pickup on a set day. Not "we'll try." Not "a truck will come eventually." A date I paid a premium for because I needed the car moved that day. What they delivered instead: a local tow truck took the vehicle, dropped it in storage, and then they told me that "guaranteed pickup" only means a tow company grabs it and they sit on it until a carrier shows up days later. The day I paid extra for never happened. My car sat. I got the runaround. When I asked for the $700 back or any real help, they refused. No refund. No meaningful fix. Just a new definition of the word "guarantee" after they already had the money and the car. That is not a guarantee. That is selling a date certain, then swapping it for "we'll tow it and warehouse it until we feel like moving it." I am responding to Richard from Montway. I finally had success moving my vehicle with Amerifreight. Here's the big difference, SERVICE. They kept us informed either by text or a phone call. I could clearly understand the agent. I have no problem with anyone's counter of origin, but if they're not speaking English clearly, that's a problem. The same agent that booked the job was with us during the entire process. Yes, a lot is up to the trucking companies that bid on the job but communication with one dedicated agent is paramount. Montway lacks this and I cannot stress how aggravating it was to deal with them .....many agents and then the delays in cancelling not one job but two on the same vehicle......two different charges on a credit card, since the second one was much higher of a quote. Told I would have a guaranteed delivery and the day of the delivery, they hired a wrecker to tow my brand new car to a junkyard so they could save refunding me $150. They will tell you 1-5 days for dispatch, that is not always true. First dispatch was canceled. Second dispatch was beyond 5 days and cost more money. Had to cancel plans and waist time reaching out for information. Terrible experience. I will never use this company again. If they have issues finding carriers, just say that. The most stressful experience. It took took over six weeks to get my vehicle. I had to threaten them with law enforcement. when I finally did received my car, it came with an empty tank, trash inside, empty bottles and and cement powder all over the place. My car was cleaned and detailed with a full tank of gas before pick up, but it came like frat boys took it for a joy ride for god knows how long. You claim to be the best auto shipping company with thousands of reviews yes all you do is broker out your vehicles to other companies that have zero standards, no insurance, and apparently they brokered out my car to a complete different company than was on the paperwork!! I had to take pictures , call you guys but you explain that this is explained in the terms If you are reading this, you need to get yourself a real company or even a company that has carriers and owner operators that can prove insurance get pictures of the drivers drivers license as well as the certificate of insurance that is issued to your name and address specifically so you can call the agent yourself and make sure that vehicle is fully insured when being transported not to mention make sure to call the dealer or whoever is going to be at pick up and make sure that they have all this info so they can check the insurance the Vin DOT and MC numbers on the truck and the drivers license of the driver. This is purely a suggestion because I'm so pissed off and I never ever want this to happen to anybody or anybody to go through this again and I can't believe this company is still even in business when this has happened so many so many times and it's all over the Internet and all they do is just hide it and hide it by throwing money at and Advertising Over it with fake reviews! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Problems started with pick up, quoted me a date and time for pick up that we had agreed on. The day of I waited until 8pm and heard nothing back from the company to call and find out the there was issues with the truck and could not get my car picked up that day. No one had the decency to call and inform me of this. Driver and dispatcher gave me different answers when I asked for a reschedule time. Finally we agreed the next day at 11am. 11am rolls around and still no response, driver wasn't answering so I call dispatcher. They call the driver and now my vehicle can't be picked up until 5pm. I had to reschedule flights around their failed time lines now and was very frustrating getting in contact with either one. Driver finally shows up after 8pm and retrieves the car. I arrive at San Diego and get a rental as the estimated time for delivery was about 4 days. Car was supposed to be deliver about Wednesday -Thursday. No response from them so I call Wednesday afternoon. Car is supposed to be here Thursday at 11am. Thursday 11am still no response so I contact the driver and nothing. Get a hold of dispatch and they have to contact the driver. Driver had more truck "issues" again but again failed to inform me about this problem. Car is supposed to be delivered now Friday morning. Nothing Friday morning. Finally after calling both dispatch and driver, as they continued giving me different times, I finally get my car Friday evening with no heads up, car just dropped off. read more

We contracted with Montway Transport back in October to move a car from West Palm Beach, FL to Madison, NJ. They in brokered the transport to Diesel Auto Express. While it was not a big issue that they were 4 days late in picking up , the vehicle was delivered with some damage on both the drivers and passenger doors. Appears damage occurred while loading/offloading during transport. Both Diesel and Montway acknowledged the damage during transport and had us file a claim along with providing additional pictures and three quotes. Since then (now over 3 months), we have received the run around and no resolution to the issue from both parties. I strongly suggest you NOT contract Montaway or Diesel (who has both gone silent) if you want your car delivered without damage and receive acceptable customer service to resolve transport issues. read more

The driver gave me a date and time, and I accepted. 3 hours AFTER he was supposed to show up he texted me in broken English he was "running a little late." I told him I couldn't accept deliver after 10 PM, yet he showed up at 1:00 AM, blowing his horn and p*ss*ng off my neighbors. I wasn't able to really check the vehicle, I just parked it and went back to bed. I discovered a couple days later there's a serious gas leak due to damaged tank and/or fuel lines. Montway specifies the importance of the bill of lading, as it relates to any damage to your vehicle. My trucker didn't use a BOL and only gave the option to sign and not indicate any damages. Bumper and windshield were damaged and there was no resolution by Montway to help. Just a denying email from them. We have used Montway once before to get my car from WA state to Corpus Christi, Texas. I requested an enclosed trailer or transport and it arrived and there were no problems. I paid what the original quote was and no more. Fast forward two years and I am now having two other vehicles shipped down from Washington state to Texas. One was an enclosed request. The other a non-enclosed transport. The non-enclosed transport. Pick up, which involves a third person, as we are not in Washington state anymore, was only less than an hour beforehand. Not a huge window to work with, even if we were there. I now just received a call stating that they cannot provide an enclosed trailer but have found open transport. The price was lowered to $1550.00. I said okay. I received two calls back saying the price in fact was going to actually be an additional $275. They said this was per the driver. As the second person called, I let them know that I was on the phone making a Yelp comment. He then said he had to go to his supervisor to see if they could still do the $1550. Amazingly, it remained the original quote of the non enclosed requested trailer. Yay! However, due to the four phone calls I received yesterday stating the same issue. I was told that the driver was no longer interested in the order. As I would not honor the request of just giving $300 more. The issue has been resolved as for now, however, should I ever need transport of a vehicle again? I will not use. It is unfortunate that we have seen a decline occur within two years. My recommendation is to look elsewhere to transport your vehicle. Perhaps contact a dealership instead. Two stars because although I am not going to be receiving my vehicle in an enclosed trailer, at least the new price is staying the same price. As of my last phone call. I gave 3 stars for 'okay'. I shipped my car and motorcycle from Seattle to Texas. My motorcycle delivery went off without a hitch. My car delivery was just odd. (Diesel Auto Express, LLC) He asked me to meet him at a Walmart. He unloaded my car and since it was close to 100 degrees outside, I said I was going to go sit in my car for the shade while he finished the delivery inventory. He said that they were not supposed to let us get in our car. Okay. That made sense but I sat in the driver's seat anyhow. I'm a 72-year-old lady!!! Did he REALLY think I was gonna hijack my own car and speed off? LOL. Common sense is sadly lacking nowadays. I told him I had the cash for the rest of my payment ($1300). He said: "Oh you already paid." I said 'no', I owe you $1300. He said: "I was told you were paid in full. Well, let me call my dispatcher." He called and I heard a weak 'okay'. I paid him the cash. He took a photo of it. I asked for a receipt. He said, Oh, we don't give out written receipts. A receipt will be sent to your email. I said 'Okay'. Now, to ME, a 'receipt' means verification that a certain amount of money was exchanged. I never rec'd the email receipt and so called him several hours later. He said he'd have someone send me a 'bill of lading' which did me NO good because it did not have ANY mention of the $1300 cash I forked over to him. I called him again and told him I needed a receipt for the CASH I gave him. He said (a couple of times) that no one had EVER asked him for a receipt and he didn't know what to do with my request! I thought: you have GOT to be kidding me! It was my word against his that I paid him anything because, remember, he didn't even think I owed him anything! He didn't trust ME to sit in my own car for the shade but HE expected ME to trust him with my cash without any verification that I gave him that cash. After a week and 1/2 of calling this person and that person, I finally got my 'paid in full' receipt 2 weeks later! Had I not been persistent, I never would have gotten a receipt to prove that I handed over $1300 in cash to this man. He could have gone on a shopping spree for all I know and said that he was told I didn't owe anything and that I didn't pay him anything. To me, a receipt for cash given in payment is a total no-brainer. This is not Montway's fault but they hired this company so they have SOME responsibility. This was stressful for me...thinking that my $1300 was floating around somewhere in his truck with no receipt given to me to link me to it. My mistake was (1) not giving him a certified check (until just a few days before they were to pick up my car, they still had not found a carrier and the bank would not let me leave the payee line blank) and (2) driving off before checking my email. I should have insisted on a receipt for the money given before driving off the parking lot. I think, if I ever had my car transported again, I wouldn't use a middleman/broker. The guy who I talked to set it up for automatic pickup; I received an e-mail right away stating that car was going to picked up on Tuesday 22nd. Don't waste your time with Montway. What they do to get your business is quote you a lower than realistic price while making a promise your car will be picked up in a day or two or three. Then you end up waiting 10 days or so before you get an offer significantly higher than the quote OR an offer for a lesser service to match the quote (using open trailer instead of enclosed, in my case). Truckers rarely respond to lowball offers with counters, so everyone's time is wasted. I tried another broker, paid more, but I got great service at the quoted price. read more

Actually, they owe ME a star. Montway first had a company to ship our car one way from Minneapolis to Estero FL. No one could reach them as the time approached for pick up. So they cancelled that group and found another driver - for a premium. Cost us $1100 one way. The car was damaged on the way home. Progressive insurance said the driver had to pay the $1000 deductible. The final bill for the repair was $2400+ and the insurance paid $625. The driver filed bankruptcy so we had to pay almost $1800 on top of the transport fee for this "service". Progressive argues every cent and won't pay. Montway says it is up to us and the driver and his insurance. This was a cluster ^&** from the time I called them to arrange transit. BEWARE - YOU ARE TOTALLY ON YOUR OWN WITH THIS COMPANY. Also Progressive is known to be the cheapest insurance company on pay outs. So one way cost us $3500. For a car with 6000 miles on it. read more

In August, 2019 my vehicle was transported from Indiana to California. Montway contracted my vehicle transport to Golden Empire Express. During the transport my vehicle had corrosive acid damage all over the vehicle. Montway only gave me the name of their insured and I had to do all the legwork. They didn't not assist, nor take responsibility. Golden Empire Express denied any damage and after months of back and forth I was forced to file a claim with my personal insurance. It is May, 2020 and the car still isn't perfect and we are in excess of $14,000 worth of repairs. Montway is a poor middleman with very little regard to their customers. Let the buyer beware, you are on your own if something happens to your vehicle. Montway never offered to reimburse the transport fees for everything that happened. I would like to make you aware of an issue dealing with our vehicle being picked up for sale to vroom. As you know, the process to sell a car back to you requires some adherence to strict guidelines including the return in a very short time window. After completing everything requested in the timelines required we received an email with a document to print and place in the windshield along with instructions that someone would be calling us within 2-3 days to advise when the truck would be picked up. This call never came, and as a result I had to call to learn my car was to be picked on Friday June 18, 2021. After waiting most of the day I called Montway Auto Transport to get a time frame the vehicle would be picked up and was promised by 6pm. That time came and went. I then called Montway Auto Transport to get an update and was told they would call the driver and call me back. I never got a call back so I called them and learned it was after business hours and no one could help. I contacted vroom who advised they had no way of contacting the auto transport company to inquire about the delay. Montway Auto Transport contacted me on Saturday morning after I called multiple time but received an answering machine. They could not explain why the driver did not show up and assured me they would be by today to get the car June 19, 2021. As that day went on, we again called to inquire a time and again were promised by 6pm. I was given the driver's, Roland Green's, phone number. At 5pm that night I called Roland to see if he was on schedule, he wasn't. He was in Vermont waiting for someone to find their keys. He told me that he could not get the truck until Monday. I told him this was unacceptable and unprofessional and insisted he come by tonight. After several apologies and excuses he told me he "I give you my word, and I don't just give that out" he would be here tonight to get the car. He told me he was 2 hours and 45 minutes away. An hour later he sent me a text saying he was not coming by and it would not be until Monday. I again called Montway Auto Transport who placed me on hold to call Roland. Roland did not answer the phone after four call attempts according to the representative I was on the phone with. He said he would have the driver come by Sunday to get the truck if Roland calls back. I told him I would adjust my visit to my family house for Father's Day to be home. I even sent a text to Roland advising I would be home during part of the day Sunday for pick up since when I spoke to him earlier he offered to come by on Sunday.  I again called vroom to voice my displeasure and frustration with the process. Sunday came and went with no contact from vroom, Montway or Roland. Monday I received a call from Montway advising the driver was going to pick my truck up today by 5pm. I requested to be the first pick up but was told we would be sometime before 5pm. As it reached 4pm I called Montway for confirmation of 5 and was told between 5 and 7. This was infuriating, yet another schedule change. But then 7 came and no driver, I called Montway again. Now they promised by 7:30pm. Then as 7:30 approached the driver called to report he would be there in 15 minutes. Twenty minutes later I called the driver who told me he was turning onto my road. This means he was about a third of a mile from my home, it took him 7 more minutes. Roland did not apologize, did not say much besides "where are the keys". He was told where they were. I requested the name of the business he works for. His reply was "Montway".   I told him that Montway is who contracted him, I wanted the name of his company. He said that he was upset that my truck was made priority and that "trickles down" and he "did not want to be bothered" with us. This comment was beyond rude.   I walked to his truck and found the company name taped to the rear wheel well IGEX Inc Sicklerville, NJ. While I was obtaining his carrier information he made himself at home leaning against my partner's work truck, which is not the truck being pickup up. When loading my truck onto his trailer, he seemed to have problems and parked it in contact with the car in front of it. To add insult to injury. I operate a home based business which see customers all day. Because Roland Green and Montway made promises to us for specific days and times I had to close my business so no customers would be here when the truck arrived so I could tend to the transfer. This meant no income during those periods. I feel I have complied with and met every deadline and still I ended up having to take a financial loss because Roland Green, a representative of Montway Auto Transport did not want to "deal with" me. read more

I paid to have a very mint 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera shipped from Seattle Washington to Tulsa Oklahoma area. While the agents I spoke with were friendly, the overall company is not very good. The trucking company that Montway contracted to carry the car was even worse. They were Fast Freight trucking. They never gave me a courtesy call to let me know the vehicle was picked up, nor did I get any information til the day they planned on delivering it. I get a call 9am wanting to deliver it at 4pm. I was not home and when I told the dispatcher that, she became very rude and condescending to me and then hung up. The car was delivered the next day and the driver refused to sign delivery ticket after I signed it and stated that the car was so dirty and muddy that I couldn't tell if there was any damage. I never received a proper Bill of Lading either. The driver listed the car as in very poor condition, when it fact it was in near showroom condition. After washing the car and getting the dirt and road grime off it, there was damage to the drivers side front fender where the car had been bumped into the trailer during loading and unloading. I had paid for additional insurance coverage on the car and it is not being honored. While the damage is minimal, it should not have happened with proper care. Very disappointed and upset. Will not use this company ever again. read more

None of this was terribly easy. The drivers were late meeting us for pick-up....which wasn't a huge deal on its own. However, getting the vehicle back was a pain in the tush. Because the schedule of the drivers changed with cancellations, etc., they wanted US to Change our schedule accordingly. We couldn't do this as we were driving from out of state and couldn't move up our arrival time. They wanted us to be there about 12 hours early, and this just wasn't doable. There were lots of dialogue and discussion in settling this, but I started feeling like I was the guilty party, and putting them out because we couldn't arrive when THEY wanted us to. Never make a customer feel guilty or at fault when it's not there fault. We did get the car in good condition, but the service from pick-up to delivery was NOT pleasant. read more

We were shipping our car from Massachusetts to Florida. We did not get our car for 11 days. Apparently it was broken down for a number of days in VA. We are not sure how many days, as every time we called, we received a different story. Montway kept saying they just sub contract it out, and then they are not responsible. Your Website says: "Enjoy an easy, and Painless Shipment Process." It was anything but that. Days of stress, broken promises, delay after delay. The driver's voicemail was full. Could not communicate with him. We know things can happen, but it is how you handle the problem that makes all the difference. It costs us extra money. We had to rent two different cars. No one offered any compensation, discount, or apologies. We sat in day after day waiting for the car with false promises of delivery. The worse experience we have had! read more

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! We requested pick up of our car on the 17th and it wasn't picked up until the 22nd. They also didn't stick to their guarantee of assigning a driver within 1-5 days. Then the whole trip across the country, we could not get ahold of the driver. We continuously called him throughout the time he had possession of our car and he never picked up and never returned our call. When we called Montway for help, they told us that they would get ahold of the driver and call us back. Montway never followed through on that either. Once we were able to get ahold of the dispatcher, he wasn't much help either. They have now had our vehicle for 10 days and it still hasn't been delivered. Oh and one more thing, Montway has received complaints about this company and still continue to use them. Stay as far away from Montway as possible. Find a company that will follow through. You are giving them your car for heavens sake! read more

In order to be satisfied with this company's standards and non-existent comprehension of customer service, not to mention complete lack of concern of customer satisfaction, one must lower his/her expectations to somewhere just south of the inner circle of hell, which is where all these wretched souls will be....just not quite soon enough for this customer's satisfaction. Avoid at all costs. Stay away. Be careful the next time you are driving on the freeway and encounter a car hauler. Folks, these are the lowest of the low. read more

Not good ! They claim door to door service... NOT THE CASE!!!! I paid for my daughter's vehicle to be shipped to Chesapeake, VA, the company Montway retained (Element Auto Transport... very shady too) to pickup and drop off did not deliver. Driver made my daughter drive out to Virginia Beach. When I contacted Montway to inform them of what was done, they replied with BS... stating they look into it. Problem is that once Montway gets their money, they don't care what happens after that. They kept my money, didn't offer a solution, only BS. I wouldn't recommend this company. In my opinion STAY AWAY from Montway Auto Transport!!! read more
