Most people that I talked to were very nice and helpful, with the exception of a couple drivers who didn't speak great English so it was a harder to communicate with each other. Price was reasonable and I was able to do guaranteed pickup and drop off on scheduled dates which was very helpful as I moved across the country and had very specific dates. I did feel pressured to book quickly in the beginning which only added to the stress of moving. My car was picked up and dropped off on time and without damage so I'm grateful for that. The biggest issue I had was the lack of communication from Montway to the dispatched carriers. My carrier was changed three times, which is fine and didn't bother me, but Montway did not effectively communicate these changes to all the carriers. I ended up getting calls from several different drivers on the day of pick up so it was very unclear who would actually be picking up my car. Overall, my experience was fine and the goal was achieved, but it could've been better. read more

I am extremely disappointed with our experience with this auto transport company. We hired them to transport our vehicle from Washington to Florida, and the car was supposed to have already arrived in Florida by now. Instead, it has been sitting in a town in Washington for several days with absolutely no movement. We have called more than 20 times trying to get an update or even basic information about where our vehicle is and when we can expect it to arrive. For days, no one could give us any meaningful information. We were finally told there was an issue with the transport truck, but there has been little to no communication about what is being done to resolve the problem or when our vehicle will actually continue its journey. We understand that mechanical problems and unexpected delays can happen. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of communication and customer service afterward. When a company is entrusted with someone's vehicle and a cross-country delivery, customers should not have to make 20+ phone calls just to find out why their car hasn't moved for days. At this point, our vehicle is significantly delayed, still in Washington, and we have not been provided with a clear plan or reliable delivery date. Here is what happened: Empty Promises: On December 23, 2016, Rafael assured me my car could be picked up by December 30, so I placed the order. For the next week, I called daily and was repeatedly told, "Sir, we assure you it will be picked up tomorrow." On the final day (Dec 30), they admitted finding a carrier was unlikely, forcing me to cancel. Bait and Switch: On January 6, they called back claiming they found a carrier for January 8, but demanded an extra $150. I explicitly asked if this new quote covered my 100 lbs of personal items. The agent checked with the carrier and confirmed the $1,329 quote was all-inclusive. I paid the extra $150 via PayPal. Hidden Fees & Extortion: When I called the carrier directly, they stated Montway never mentioned any personal items and refused to take them. When I called Montway to resolve their mistake, they demanded another $150 on top of the increased quote--threatening cancellation and cancellation fees if I didn't comply. From day one, this company was nothing but a scam. They charged me $1,200 to transport my Bronco from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale, claiming I was paying for "Premier" service with guaranteed on-time delivery. My vehicle was picked up on Tuesday and was supposed to arrive by Saturday. That never happened. When they picked up my vehicle, they used a flatbed tow truck and told me they were taking it to meet the transport truck because their carrier couldn't fit into my community. That was another lie. I've shipped this same vehicle multiple times with other companies, and no one has ever had that issue. They even sent me the name of the transport company they claimed would be handling my vehicle, so everything seemed legitimate. Then, just an hour later, I received an email saying the transporter had canceled. When I contacted the transporter directly, they told me the truth: they didn't cancel--the broker canceled on them. Instead of transporting my Bronco, they left it sitting at a police impound/towing lot in Glenview for nearly two weeks. I called them three times a day, every day, and was given the same excuse: "We're still trying to find a driver. Please give us more time." After seven days, I told them I was contacting an attorney and coming to pick up my vehicle myself. Miraculously, they suddenly found a transporter the very next day. As I'm writing this, it's been two weeks, and I still don't have my vehicle. It's finally on the road, but this has been an absolute nightmare. I hired Montway to transport my personal vehicle to another state as part of my move. Because the shipping cost was high enough to exceed my credit card limit, Montway proposed splitting the payment: a deposit by credit card and the remaining balance in cash. I agreed to this arrangement. I was also told that paying the balance in cash would qualify me for a discount. However, as soon as I provided my credit card information, communication completely stopped. Instead of charging only the agreed deposit, Montway charged my credit card for more than the full agreed amount without my authorization. As a result, my credit card exceeded its limit. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to contact Montway by phone and email, but I have received no meaningful response. The only emails I continue to receive are automated messages demanding that I approve my credit card payment. To be fair, the carrier that Montway assigned was professional, courteous, and did an excellent job transporting my vehicle. They are not responsible for this issue. My complaint is entirely about Montway's billing practices and customer service. It is also concerning that the transportation proceeded normally while the payment dispute remained completely unresolved. At this point, I genuinely don't know how to resolve the situation. I met the driver of the car hauler at another used car place 20 minutes from my house. There was no way the car hauler truck could fit on my subdivision street. They market themselves as a "premium" broker, but they are actually a negligent middleman that harvests your fee and then subcontracts your property to the most careless, bottom-of-the-barrel carriers available. I trusted them with my 2023 BMW M4 Competition. They assigned the job to GQ Line LLC, a company operating a trailer that was in a state of absolute squalor. The equipment was disheveled and structurally unsafe--the ramps had sharp, lifted metal edges, and the driver was using loose wooden blocks as makeshift ramps to load and unload high-end vehicles. It is a miracle my car wasn't totaled by this "professional" setup. Because of their hazardous equipment, my car was delivered with a completely flat front driver-side tire. Upon inspection at the BMW dealership, it was discovered that the tire had been punctured in two separate places. Because these are high-performance, low-profile tires, they could not be patched and required a total replacement. Furthermore, since the vehicle arrived in an undrivable state, I was forced to call a towing company to transport the car from my home to the dealership, adding even more out-of-pocket expenses to a situation that was 100% their fault. The driver spoke very little English, which Montway apparently thinks is acceptable for a client-facing logistics role. It was nearly impossible to get a clear confirmation that the damage was being recorded. When I repeatedly pointed out the flat tire at delivery, the driver just nodded and said "yes" to everything while shoving a blank phone screen in my face to sign. I was essentially held hostage--I had to sign a blank digital form I couldn't read just to get my car released from their dilapidated truck. For over two weeks (March 30th to April 14th), Montway's claims department did effectively nothing. They claim to "mediate," but they actually just sit in the middle and forward vague emails while the carrier dodges responsibility. Even worse, when I finally gave up on Montway and demanded the carrier's insurance info, Montway provided me with the wrong insurance contact. They are so disorganized they don't even keep accurate records of the people they are hiring to drive your cars. The only reason I finally got reimbursed for the cost of the tow and the damages was because I did the work Montway was too lazy to do. I had to hunt down the carrier's actual insurance provider myself. Within hours of me contacting the insurance company--who immediately cc'd Montway and the carrier on a demand for payment--the carrier suddenly "found" their Venmo and paid me. Montway took my money and left me to fight a battle they were paid to handle. They have no vetting process for their carriers' equipment, they provide garbage data to their customers, and they have zero backbone when it comes to holding their vendors accountable. In my case, my car was picked up by Horizon Star LLC on July 17 at 9 PM for transport from New Jersey to San Diego, with an estimated delivery of July 27-29. I had a GPS tracker on my car and noticed it sat parked in Pennsylvania for days without moving. I repeatedly contacted both Montway and Horizon Star for updates, but all I received were generic responses with no real information or assistance. The delay stretched to 19 days, forcing us to rent a car and spend hundreds of dollars more than expected. To make matters worse, when my car was finally delivered, the driver told me he had to jump-start it because it wouldn't start. Overall, the lack of communication, transparency, and customer support made this a very stressful experience. This review is based on being charged cancellation fee even though I clearly request cancellation well before anyone was dispatched. On Monday, June 15th, 2026, at 7:59AM PST time, I sent a cancellation request on my outlook email as specified exactly in there terms and condition as followed to the email of info@montway.com. Section 9: c. Cancellation of an Order by Customer must be submitted in writing via email sent to info@montway.com. Cancellations made via telephone, text, chat or any other medium will not be accepted by Montway. No one was dispatched yet when that email was sent that. I have uploaded the receipt of the email to this complaint On Wednesday. June 17th, 11:37AM PST, I received an email that a driver was dispatched even though my cancellation was well before that. I was told on call on Wednesday that I would be charged because someone was dispatched. Why was someone dispatched when I clearly cancelled the order well before that? As specified in their terms and condition: a. Customer may cancel an Order at any time at no cost or cancellation fees as long as the Order has not yet been accepted by a Carrier. They claimed on call they could not find the email record and claimed I will be charged the cancellation fee. I would be happy to work with Montway, the BBB, and outlook, to show proof of this email receipt that was was sent to their email at info@montway.com. I have provided them the receipt of the email record on the phone call and in chat and it was still not resolved. As of now this is also a filed complaint with the BBB and will be disputed with my bank if it comes to that. Edit: I see the reply below and you could message me at-least to find out my order. The car arrived safe and sound, which I am grateful for. The driver didn't speak a LOT of English, but he was very nice, which I am also grateful for. I feel like Montway was a bit deceptive in the quote however. The initial quote was raised because the car was "modified", but in reality it had been stretched 1.5 ft in the front. This was not an issue for the transport, as the driver had a trailer that hauled 2-3 vehicles. Montway rep said on the phone that $200-$300 would be charged to my credit card and the rest would go to the driver, and I received an email stating that $1370 would be owed to the driver on delivery. In reality, Montway charged my card $499, and sent another email stating to only pay the driver $1,100, which I did, but it felt deceptive. I am guessing that Montway got a way better deal from the driver than they anticipated, and instead of passing some of that saving on to me, or explaining, they just charged my card double what the rep said they would and kept all of the profit. Also, the rep promised tracking, which never happened - we had to call the driver a couple of times to find out the delivery time, because he hit traffic (which I understand he cannot control) and got held up by a couple of hours. On the 22nd montway was supposed to guarantee delivering my car on the 30th from New Jersey to Florida Wednesday the 24th the first driver didn't show up at all Thursday the 25th. The second driver promised that on the 26th Friday morning he would come to the house and pick up the car. Keep in mind on the way took the money out of my account Wednesday. Friday came Friday afternoon no driver I'm moving out of my apartment in New Jersey. Absolutely the worst experience. I paid $ 1,899 almost a month in advance. I was told I had a "Guaranteed Pick Up" in a covered carrier. Well first the pickup was not covered and no one showed up after I took a day off from work. The experience I had with Montway is not an experience that I wish upon anyone. From the very beginning they over promised and under delivered on every date they provided. They mixed up my vehicle with another one that was similar to mine and to make things much worse, after waiting nearly 3 weeks for my vehicle to show up, my vehicle arrived with $2,500 worth of damage. The damage was caused by the carrier that they contracted with (Del Monte Auto Transport), and the carrier is denying all of it. It has been a terrible and very stressful experience. I had a great experience with Montway Auto Transport. They kept in contact with me throughout the entire process for my Ford F150 from Indiana to California. Schedule on 6.11.26, picked up 6.16.26 and delivered 6.24.26 I didn't know some of the transport trucks were not able to access certain streets and the person holding the car for me at the pickup point could not drive my truck to the meet up point. The transport driver offered to take an Uber to the house, stopped to put gas in the truck since it was low and I sent him a Zelle payment for both. The person helping me at the pickup point followed the driver in their personal car to take photos of the MC#, DOT# and the name of the transporter company on the side of the truck as instructed by Montway. The transporter answered my text along the way and let me know when there was any change of plans as far as arrival date. Honestly, I was so nervous after reading lots of reviews and sorry others did not have a good experience with Montway and feel fortunate to have had such a wonderful experience. read more

Montway Auto Transport is a total scam. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. We contracted to have a car transferred from California back to the Midwest. We booked over two months in advance. Montway gave us a fiveday window in which they were going to pick up the car. We had a certain date the car had to be picked by. They gave us a five day window prior to the target ate. We were supposed to receive an e-mail within the five days in which the car was going to be picked up. They never contacted us by email or by phone to arrange for pick up. During the five-day window, daily calls were made to Montway to check on the status. "We elevated your status to urgent" . . . "We will have some one to pick up the car, we can assure your" . . . "Could your drive the car to Los Angeles, so we can pick it up there" (that was over three hours away) . . . "We have elevated the status to critical". Then nothing!. All customer services representative had foreign accents with very broken English. Here's the scam. On the final day the car could be picked up, two calls were made to customer service. Finally, the female customer service representative said, "If you pay a premium and upgrade your service to the premium level, we can assure you we can transport your car in two days. This was past the five day window. That's the bait. They fail to get someone to transport the vehicle during the five day window and then when the client is desperate to have the vehicle transported, somehow they supposedly can find someone to do the transport the vehicle. Of course you have to pay the premium service when you are in a bind. We found an honest company instead STAY AWAY - REAL SCAM -Use a more reputable company. read more

If there are difficulties securing a carrier, that should be communicated clearly from the start rather than creating the impression that pickup is just around the corner. I can promise you that I had no idea there were two kinds of pick up orders 1)Standard or 2) Guaranteed. The person who booked our reservation never once mentioned that. Or believe me I would have chosen the guaranteed service. We were moving across the country. Yes I needed our car transport to be guaranteed. But that is absolutely ridiculous because the reservation itself should be enough of a "guarantee" that someone is going to transport your car! Called the driver the day before and was told a time range. The day of pickup I was emailed a cancellation by the driver only. I did not receive a call from Montway or the driver. They rescheduled without any communication to me on a day I'm unavailable and now I am being charged the cancellation fee for their error. Do NOT use them. I agree with all the other services. Montway just farms the trucking to the first bidder and then good luck! My car showed up two days before the delivery window - with zero notice. They could have given me a heads up 6-12 hours early and I could have coordinated something. But rather, they just show up. Im not home so they leave it 30 minutes away in a super sketchy lot. The car's engine over heats and is not tagged - it is a 2017 Range Rover but has not been driven for years after my mother passed. It was not easy getting the car home. Then customer service called to tell me that it was not a miscommunication! If they had just called and updated the delivery it would have been great news. But no call.. no heads up. My first driver straight up canceled pick up the day after he was supposed to pick up my car and the company did absolutely nothing about it. They guarantee pick up within a 5 day window and my car didn't get picked up til the 6th day and they said " sorry we don't compensate" I asked to talk to a supervisor and 6 days later no one has ever reached out. the person who ended up getting my car was great and got it to me fast, but montway still hasn't even updated saying my car is delivered. I have attached photos of the where the driver said he had no room to park his vehicle for pick up. These were taken immediately after he called me. Inconvenience is one thing, it is another to be lied to repeatedly and with different stories as to why the vehicle was not picked up OR delivered. There was zero door to door customer service for either. I ended up having to locate my vehicle and pick it up myself 80 miles away from its destination because of the lack of confidence in Montway's customer service and communication. I ended up dealing directly with someone (David) with the actual shipping company to pick it up. There is no reason for poor communication when in customer service. I found this experience to be highly unprofessional and misleading. The company represented itself as a shipping company; however, it is actually a broker. I selected this organization based on email communications that indicated it was a direct shipping provider, which proved to be inaccurate. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly reassigned to different drivers, each providing inconsistent pickup times. The company appeared professional only until the business was secured. Additionally, despite advertising a military discount on the USAA website, the company ultimately refused to honor it. I placed an order for 2 vehicles but the window for pick up was way too big and I was told I wouldn't have a carrier assigned until 1-2 days prior. I tried to cancel the orders after I confirmed there was no carrier assigned. I was told I could cancel and a supervisor would contact me within 24 hours. No call the next day. The day after I had 2 customer service reps tell me it would be 24 hours. No call so I left a voicemail. No call the NEXT DAY so I sent an email. I talked to yet another customer service representative (I had talked to 5 at this point). Mila was very sweet but I asked to talk to a supervisor. SHE couldn't get a hold of a supervisor so she was told to tell me to wait for someone to call me back. This is ridiculous. They don't answer the phones, supervisors can't do their job and I'm 4 days into a cancellation period being told it should have been done 3 days ago. Go straight with a carrier and don't mess around with the brokers. I was told I'd get a call in 15-20 minutes. That didn't happen so I called back. The senior supervisor was rude and kept cutting me off telling me I had to wait 24 hours between requesting cancelation and confirmation. I told her it's day 4. She cut me off again to tell me they have 24 hours. I explained it's been over 72 hours and she said she'd send an email. I tried to clarify if it was a cancelation request email or a confirmation of cancelation. She told me she'd send an email and they have 24 hours to cancel it. I explained AGAIN they request was put in the 30th. She said I would get an email for the cancelation and that was it. Horrible customer service. This has been the reply on negative reviews. Don't worry, I sent an email and I really look forward to a resolution. read more

I paid $500 extra for premium service to make sure my car delivered as soon as possible, they picked up on time, but they split the ride and left my car 5 days in Texas waiting for another driver to pick it up from their, I ended renting a car for 4 days, postponed my flight, my son started his job without clothes since it was in the car. No one explained to me that they will split the delivery, their operators keep telling me that they are working to find a driver from Wednesday until Monday. I requested to speak to a supervisor twice, no one called me, they are very unresponsive and I will never ever choose them as broker to transport my car and I will not recommended for anyone to use this company. read more
