Failed both times to have car picked up within usual 5 day time frame, forcing us to rent cars on both ends resulting in over $600 in rental fees. The company entered an order for a return trip 1 year in advance without my consent. Unbeknownst to me, they then proceeded to charge my card for that order that had been fraudulently entered by their sales rep over a year ago. There was never a quote submitted or confirmation from my part of ever needing the service when it was originally entered since I had planned on retuning the leased vehicle in the destination city I was traveling to. They refused to issue a refund despite not needing or using their services. If you give these people your credit card beware of future charges which may suddenly appear and you'll have no recourse. I got caught in an unexpected pissing match between Montway and Nexus. What a racket. Ultimately Montway came through with the faster delivery at the better price. The one star review is for the driver they used. He was rude to both the seller of my car in California as well as myself. Poor communication. He also made me walk 15 min in the rain to meet him with my car; he wouldn't come to my street to drop the car because he said he was not "pizza delivery" even though my street is more than wide enough to fit his truck. He smelled of alcohol when I met him, asked how much I paid for it, said it was the "junky" kind and that he had a nicer one he could sell me. Honestly, something was very off and troubling about him. He also left a blown out semi truck tire in the trunk of my car. If this is the type of driver Montway uses, I'd strongly recommend staying away from them, and especially the driver, Richard Ayush. read more

My husband and I have been in contact with this company for over 3 months and everything was sounding good initially. Today we called to sure things up with specific dates and we got told something totally different regarding vehicle pick up...they give people a 1 to 5 day window to pick your vehicle up????? When we researched this company, we never saw that in writing and none of the customer service agents we spoke with (countless times) told us that! We are closing on our home soon and cannot afford to be without our vehicles for more than 1 day! AND the customer service agent I spoke with today was very rude, condescending and had an abhorrent tone and attitude! Their customer service is A+. Everyone I spoke to from customer service to the auto carrier were very friendly and professional. These guys were great! They kept our cars safe, even during the hurricane here in Florida, and put them where they were not going to be touched by the elements. Montway simply does not deliver, period. After agreeing on a price to deliver my vehicle across the country, with an agreed to pick up window, communication ceased. I reached out to Montway proactively each day within the 5 day pick-up window and received the same scripted response each time. Specifically, "We pick up 80% of our vehicles with the first 3 days of the pick-up window, and 90% within the 5 day window." On the fifth day I called again with no carrier assigned and the same scripted response. I agreed to terms with another broker and the car was picked up the next day. Exceptionally poor demonstrated performance and customer support by Montway. I would not recommend this company to anyone, period. read more

I will start off by saying I never leave reviews, but my experiences with Montway are deserving of one. I have used Montway to transport my car across the country 5 times now. My first experience in 2021 was very positive, which is what caused me to keep coming back. However, every experience after the first has been progressively worse. I kept coming back, as I knew the company was not a scam, which I worry about in the car transport industry. Each time I have used Montway, I have paid more than my original quote. Their representatives call you and tell you they have found a carrier, BUT they need an additional $200-$400 to secure your spot. My most recent experience, which will be my last, was that I reserved transport 2 months in advance, and was repeatedly assured that my dates and pickup window would be no issue, and my car would get to its destination on time. Long story short, my car was NOT picked up during the generous window that I gave them, despite being assured over and over that it would. My last available pickup date came and went, with the only explanation, when the timing became urgent, being "we are trying our best". I am convinced that Montway does not have any internal communication between representatives, resulting in inefficiency and confusion. This leaves me wondering what they are doing all day. After the final pickup date passed, I had to wait 4 days for a supervisor to call me back. My car was loaded onto a truck well after the deadline, with an additional cost, 2 hours before my flight, leaving me in a serious pinch. If you are looking for a reliable transport company and you have any sort of time constraint, Montway is not the company for you. I do not recommend Montway to anyone, and I will never be using them again. read more

I booked with Montway (pricing was already higher than others, but they had been recommended to me) to ship a car cross-country and gave them a date range within which I needed the car to be picked up (due to availability of the seller) that was within their allowed window. They told me that this would be fine, and then proceeded to tell the trucking company to show up on the wrong day. They cancelled my shipment without telling me anything (I had to reach out to them again). I gave them a second chance to get it rescheduled a week later and they cancelled the shipment AGAIN on the day it was supposed to be picked up, and every person I talked to just kept telling me that they would let me know when it was rescheduled, even though I asked them to let me know (so that I could request a refund) if it couldn't be shipped within the new window. I'm still trying to get them to refund my money and the car hasn't moved, nor has a new pickup been set. read more

Was assured that it is how it's done, assign a truck only 1-2 days out. Customs emailed the group email with all necessary documents, pickup information, and notice that vehicle was released and ready for pickup 11/24 and 11/25 Thanksgiving closed 11/26 and 11/27 Weekend 11/28 (1st avail day for pickup) 10:03 email and text received that a truck was dispatched 10:09 missed call from montway (driver was trying to call to arrange pickup) 10:12 returned their call (they gave the driver the FAX number for the Customs office) 10:17 email received canceled / need to reassign another truck 5 additional emails just arguing, denying blame, reminding me of their 5 day timeline, and ensuring me they have everything needed and all numbers are correct. 11/29 (2nd avail) 7 additional emails just arguing, denying blame, reminding me of their 5 day timeline, and ensuring me they have everything needed and all numbers are correct. 17:43 management from montway called, after 28 mins they still deny any fault and offered no compensation or assistance and again reminded me of their 5 days policy and insisted they had everything needed. And said it's not their responsibility if I'm charged any storage fees. 11/30 (3rd avail) Also LFD (last free day) at port 12/1 (4th avail) 2nd truck dispatched with a load date of 12/2 12/2 (5th avail) dispatch canceled, called to ask what happened, was told truck had mechanical problems. 12/5 (6th avail BUSINESS DAY, M-F) email received, they have a truck available, with an additional $100 fee if I want, I agreed to pay. Email confirmation received of the additional payment and again was told, "It appears we have everything needed at this point on our end and expect the remaining portion of your shipment to run smoothly." (AND THIS WAS THE VERY LAST EMAIL RECEIVED) Scheduled pickup was the 6th of Dec with a delivery between the 8th and 9th. 9:22am VM received from montway saying that the driver needs some paperwork that is missing. 10:28am I called back and asked what was missing and was told the delivery order. I said are you serious?????? I was told at least 12 different times that you had EVERYTHING needed even by a manager who called me late one night! ALSO you received the delivery order DIRECTLY from the customs office on the 23rd of Nov..... long pause, oh yeah. I see It now, sorry, too many notes here.(VERY LAST COMMUNICATION OF ANY KIND WITH MONTWAY). 11:33am driver texted me directly asking for the delivery order since montway was unable to provide it. I sent it to the driver. 3:00pm is when the driver informed me that montway actually sent him the delivery order. 12/6 (7th avail) scheduled pickup day no contact 12/7 (8th avail) sent the driver a text asking how pickup went, he actually picked it up today. 12/8 no contact 12/9 no contact 12/10 texted the driver asking approx arrival day, he actually said he was only hours away! Overall, the experience was a bit stressful/frustrating, but they got the job done with no damage to the vehicle. On pickup day, they gave us about a 30 minute notice, which was difficult as it was the middle of a work day. At drop off, I did not hear from anybody all day. When I finally called to check on the delivery, the guy I spoke with said he had told us at pickup they wouldn't be able to deliver the car (not true) and that we had to come pick it up from a vehicle yard in the next 30 minutes... 1.5hrs from where we needed the car delivered. It's quite difficult to pick up a vehicle that far away after a cross-country move....when your only vehicle is the one that was being delivered. We asked for a discount since we had paid for door-to-door delivery service. At that time, the delivery guy was suddenly able to deliver the vehicle to our house....2.5hrs later. At time of delivery, I was told I'm not able to use a card to pay the remaining difference, despite Montway saying I could. Overall, the job got done, but next time I'd be much more explicit with the details of how everything would work, and probably put an airtag in my vehicle as well. read more

I was not made aware of the charges since your contractor drove my car and not put it on a trailer to where their trailer is over 70 miles away. The toll ticket came in and I called the next day to complain amd now they claim they are not responsibly due to some act but per the contract vehicle is to be trailered not towed. read more

Having my motorcycle shipped with this company. Again complete disorganization and promises that they will" call you right back " but never do. My five day window was not respected. Pick up took place later so I had to pay more as the bike was in a storage facility. The transport company gave me 10 minutes notice of pick up and when I tried to contact them for drop off dates , no answer. Called Montway several times with always the same reply. The car was picked up and taken care of all the way and the driver was very accomodating when I had to have him drop it off in another location because our neighborhood would not handle his truck. I kind of don't know how to rate montway. They got my car from point A (Denver) to point B (Orlando) without damaging it. I guess that's what I paid them to do? However I felt on edge about the journey the entire time. My main problem was an issue with transparency. On the day of my pick up they told me I would have to pay an extra $100 to have things in my back seat. This was never explicitly stated to me upon booking or written anywhere that I could have easily seen it. I admit it's possible it's in the terms and conditions but I'm not even sure about that because the way the Montway agent framed the issue to me was sketchy at best. He stated that some drivers have a problem with the liability of having things in your back seat and they need an extra $100 to convince the driver to take it. He then flat out said "but don't get to crazy or they still won't take it." Like "don't get too crazy" is such a relative thing to say? How am I supposed to know what that means? I wasn't in town when they picked it up so I was worried up until they finally did take it that I would have to deal with some temperamental truck driver who was mad I had a few boxes of clothes in my back seat. I think Montway should be EXTRA transparent about the extra $100 because I felt like I was being taken for when they made me pay and that I really had no other choice. The truck driver was nice enough but coordinating with him was really stressful. I wasn't in town when he picked it up and it ended up being a bit of a cluster with a friend I left the keys with. She had to be at the airport right before he came to pick it up and I had to call him multiple times to coordinate and basically force him to go before my friend had to leave for the airport. Even then she had to drive the car to him and walk back because his truck wouldn't fit down our street. It ended up being really stressful for her and I felt so bad I put her in that position. All of this could have been preplanned for had we coordinated better. He never called me throughout the trip and only until an hour before he was going to drop the car off. I always had to reach out to him. But he got my car to me on the day Montway said he would and with no damage from what I can tell. He was nice when I did talk to him. I just wish I felt better about the whole thing. I never felt like I had peace of mind about the transport. Given that I probably wouldn't recommend this service to anyone and I certainly won't be using it again. It wasn't a nightmare but when you are paying almost $1000 for a service you want things to be better than just "not a nightmare." read more

If there was an option for zero stars they would get it. I strongly encourage you to consider other carriers. As a logistics company you would think they would have a plan of how to get your car from point A to point B, but they don't. They wing it. They will accept your job without lining up drivers to actually complete the trip. Here were a few of our surprises when we tried to ship our sons college vehicle from Houston to Ft Collins, Colorado. 1. They are simply a brokerage service, not a company with its own equipment. 2. Some man with a pickup truck and trailer is likely to show up, not the 18 wheeler rig you would think for a long haul. Looks sketchy. 3. They will fail to mention that your driver is probably not taking the car the entire way. It will be handed off along the way. We found out by accident while talking with the first driver at pickup. 4. Your car could end up in a storage facility like ours did for nearly a week waiting on a driver to agree to take the car the rest of the way. 5. They will not arrange the driver/truck that will finish the trip until after it is picked up. This leaves you in a situation where it might not be delivered for weeks. 6. All of the customer service agents are foreign and hard to understand. 7. Drivers are foreign as well, the first driver spoke Spanish but limited English. The second driver was Russian and was impossible to communicate with. 8. Driver took our car to the wrong place and then argued with me that he was close enough. My son walked a mile to meet him, since he had no car, rather than him driving to the provided address. There was plenty of room to drop at the given address. Results: our trip had a guaranteed pickup date and a 4-6 day delivery. It was picked up on time, but was delivered on the 13th day. Don't put anything you might need in the vehicle because it won't be there when you need it. We ended up having to change flights, pay for several extra hotel nights, etc, costing us more than the transport service cost. What a waste, this company touts good reviews, but I sure I am not the only one having a terrible experience. read more

I called Montway Auto Transport it seemed they had good ratings and looked like a company I could trust to haul my dads vehicles from Colorado to Texas. The Truck came to pick up the vehicles and I thought this is great they will arrive at my house within 2 days. Little did I know that the other vehicles the driver was picking up were wrecked cars that had parts and pieces hanging off of them and these cars were placed over my dads two vehicles. The wrecked cars leaked anti freeze and oil all over the camper top on the Toyota pick up and the same on the top and driver side of his Lexus. That is not acceptable. Yes the vehicles get dirty from road grime and dust but you should not haul wrecked junk cars over your customers personal vehicles. Do your self a favor and use another company to haul your vehicles for you. read more

And...they sympathize (yes the word they use in emails) your claim so they offer a "$300 goodwill offer" to pay damages causing by auto transport. I bought a Shelby Cobra Kit Car a gentleman in Pasadena Maryland and needed to have it transported to Denver CO. I saw Montway's ad and reviews online so I took a leap of faith. I contacted them and they met all my needs including price. I was called by Stefani Ivanova who was the actual person handling my transaction. I told Stefani I was new at this and she figuratively held my hand through out the entire operation. She was the picture of patience and understanding and always kept me up to speed on the progression to the final outcome. I have recommended her as the contact and Montway to several folks that are interested in shipping vehicles, one being a company that has lost its shipper. The communication wasn't as great as it should be. I had to contact them multiple times questioning when they were going to pick up my vehicle. I ended up having to leave state without my car. I left the keys with a relative and a carrier did pick up my vehicle two days after my departure. The truck driver did keep in touch with me but made too many excuses for my liking on why my car was taking a little longer to arrive. Finally my car arrived in one piece without any damage which I guess is the goal right? Everything in my trunk was looked through but nothing was missing. Had a car moved from Colorado to Florida, Montway is a broker which I knew and was ok with it. They said 3-5 business days for pickup with at least 24 hours notices. I requested a covered carrier because of problems before with open carriers, Montway did call on the 4th day saying they did not forget me, and was still looking for a company to sub out. On the 6th day called and asked what was going on, they didn't have a covered carrier but could pick in in 4 hours for an open carrier. Problem was I had to get ahold of my family member to see if he could leave work and be there to have it picked up. So much for the 24 hour notice, got the drivers name and number and had the car pickup the next day. What they do is take it to a car lot and wait for a subcontractor to come and pickup and transport that way. Lucky the sub was great and was very good on time and deliver. The 3 stars is because did not pickup in 3-5 business days was told they would be the carrier no subcontractors and would be in contract the whole way , never heard back from them after the driver picked up the car. Would use again but only with the subcontractor which I got his companies name and number. read more

Most dishonest company I have ever encountered. DO NOT USE THEM. They assure you they have insurance and will cover the cost of any damages incurred then just deny any claims. They try to exhaust you by not answering emails, giving you the run around and hoping you just give up. My license plate was stolen off the vehicle and they have tried every excuse to not cover the cost of this. Really regret using them. There are far more reputable companies out there, go with one of them. Still fighting with them many emails later and now they just won't answer at all. I can't imagine how I would feel if more expensive damage had occurred. When the driver picked up my car, he marked chips and scratches on every surface of my car on his "damage assessment". The car was in excellent condition prior to transportation with no chips or scratches anywhere. He then hands me his phone with a single screen for a signature box and asked me to sign that he "picked it up today". No mention at all of any damage assessment. After he leaves I get an email with a copy of the paper work and surprise! my signature on a form that I agree with all of the damages he marked. It was literally the most dishonest thing I have ever seen another adult do in a business transaction. I contacted Montway immediately and they told me they would look into it and get back to me.....nothing, never heard from them again. Other reviewers have reported stolen license plates as well. I just moved from NJ to CO and transported both my cars with Montway. I just provided them the date by which I need the cars at the destination and the Carrier was assigned on time. Besides quoting a reasonable price, I received both the cars at the destination as per the schedule. The driver was well informed and the coordination was excellent.
