Just as the Sun crested the mountains.

Our tour guide was Tony and he was wonderful! I would highly recommend Tony and this tour company. Tony went above and beyond to ensure we took great photos and brought to our attention many details we would have otherwise missed. We took the sunrise tour, it lasted just over 3 hours, and it was worth every penny.

We cannot save enough great things about our tour. A huge thank you to Don Mose for making this tour more then we expected. Don provided us with history, laughs and made our experience very personal. We left knowing more about the Navajo Culture and ourselves. We let the land speak to us and we listened. We would highly recommend a tour with Don!

Opting to start our day with the 3.5 hour tour, which included the back country area that is only accessible with a Navajo guide, was the perfect beginning to our time in Monument Valley. Our guide was very knowledgeable, offered to take pics of us, gave us pointers on best angles to catch the image, and provided lots of great info about the Navajo tribe and Monument Valley. I'm glad we choose this experience to get a feel for the park before driving the Valley loop on our own later in the day. Everything was flawless with the experience...easy booking, reminder emails, directions, etc. I highly recommend booking a tour with this company as it is affordable and they provide tons of value!

Bobby our tour guide was awesome. Told us about Navajo history, culture, and tribal background. Went into the code talker history and how that came about. While we were gathered at a large cave like setting with a huge hole in the top he played the flute to show the acoustic being in that monument. It was a memberable experience that we won't forget. He showed us all of the movie locations where Ford, Eastwood, etc shot their movies. It was a great day... One we will remember for a long time. Thanks Bobby and Monument Valley Safari.

My Wife and I booked the private sunset tour with Monument Valley Safari on 10/03/24. Let me say that it was nothing short of amazing. Our tour guide, Don Mose, was incredible. In addition to showing us the very best sights, he taught us some Navajo words, told Navajo stories, explained the meanings of the Petroglyphs that we saw and gave a full history of Monument Valley as well as the Navajo people in general. The tour was visually stunning while also culturally deepening. Don took us to some places where the regular tours don't go and even helped us adjust our camera settings for maximum image capture. If you are planning on visiting Monument Valley, look no further than Monument Valley Safari. If he's available, ask for Don Mose - it will be an experience you do not forget.

While visitors can drive the main valley loop on their own, with general admission to the reservation, it really pays to have a local Navajo guide take you further into tribal land and explain the history and geology of the area. Monument Valley Safari did a great job, with guide Duffy taking us on a sunset tour that included the Mittens, John Ford's Point, the Three Sisters, Totem Pole and Yei Bi Chei spires, and the Big Hogan, Ear of the Wind, and Sun's Eye arches. The tour also included a yarn-spinning and weaving demonstration at a hogan and a double-flute performance.

A beautiful morning spent with Don Mose, driving through Monument Valley, understanding this place through his eyes, tracing back his knowledge through the understanding of his grandfather who in turn held the knowledge and wisdom of his grandparents. Don Mose has amazing stories to tell about the origin of the Navajo people. He is a special person who has done much for the language of the Dine and been an important teacher and counselor to young people. He's travelled far and wide helping people to reacquaint themselves with their native tongue. I did a private tour and the one on one time was really precious and the highlight of my one month road trip. The three or so hours flew by. Highly highly recommend. Thank you so much Don Mose for sharing your time and energy with me, and for a true connection. I was tearful by the end, in gratitude and recognition.

One of many beautiful spots and photos Duffy so patiently took. Breathtaking

Had an outstanding tour today during a wind/snow stormy day with Duffy and had such a wonderful time it's hard to out it in words how grateful my husband and I are to him. If you are looking for a very special tour - outside of the trail in to the sacred Monument Valley, go on his tour amd you will be so happy you did. And, the photos he took of us are beautiful! Thank you Duffy, we lived our tour and time spent with you.

What an amazing experience! Highly recommend! From start to finish this tour was so easy at pickup at the hotel to getting dropped off back at the hotel. Bobby, our guide, was so kind and knowledgeable. It was great to be able to go to places that the ordinary driver couldn't go. Bobby gave some great insight into the area and was super kind in taking photos as I was a solo traveler. I took the 3.5 hour tour and would suggest not to do any less. The landscape is breathtaking and you will want to take your time. The transportation was awesome! A nice suburban and was very comfortable as we went on the backroads. Do yourself a favor and book with this company.

The Monument Valley Tour was wonderful! This tour ventured well past the areas accessible to the general public on the self-guided loop tour. Our guide, Toney Begay, provided cultural education and entertaining commentary. Toney described differences between authentic ancient and more recent fake stone markings. At one stop, Toney and other guides provided stories and demonstrated Dine music. Toney also demonstrated how to create good photographs of specific formations.

Do you still have to wear Covid masks?

Great question Julie. No, masks are no longer required in Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. However, many Navajos continue to wear masks, especially when they are sick or someone in the family is sick, whereas before Covid this was not a common…

Our guide, Shawn Holiday, was simply the best of the best. His knowledge of history and geology brought the land to life in a way I'll never forget. He didn't just guide us--he immersed us in the experience. From sharing stories and cultural insights to playing the flute in the canyon, every moment felt meaningful and authentic. Shawn also had an incredible eye for photography. He took us to breathtaking locations and helped capture some of the most unforgettable photos our family will ever have. Traveling with my wife and two daughters, I couldn't have asked for a better guide--he was thoughtful, polite, and deeply respectful as he shared Navajo customs and traditions with us. The beauty of this place is beyond words--you truly have to see it to believe it. Being there also gave me a deeper appreciation for the rich history of the Indigenous people who lived in harmony with this land, trading far and wide and honoring nature as one. That spirit is still present, and it's something that deserves respect and recognition. I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced this tour with Shawn. It's something I will carry with me forever. I hope to see continued opportunities and prosperity for the Navajo people in the future--they are the true stewards of this land, and their culture is something the world can learn so much from. If you're considering this tour--don't hesitate. It's unforgettable.

We booked a private 3.5 hour tour with Dineh Bekeyah Tours and it was amazing. While you can take a self-guided tour on the 17 mile Scenic Drive, the tour takes you places that you can't otherwise go, providing an unmatched opportunity to see Monument Valley and to learn about Diné culture and history. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking and unlike anywhere else in the world. So many of our pictures looked like a green screen but I assure you it's real! And we can attribute our phenomenal experience directly to our guide, Chandler - knowledgeable, kind, fun, and generous. We learned so much from him. It almost felt like a bonus that he is so well versed in the movie-making history AND is an avid photographer. He took amazing photos of and for us! Some highlights: a spot for crafts and jewelry and some amazing frybread with two of the cutest black kittens; a traditional Navajo home (hogan); geology and history and pictographs; stunning vistas.
