We found Tipi Valley on Google and we are so glad we booked here! Aaron is a great host, very friendly and accommodating and we loved sharing his Najavo culture through song, blessing us on the rest of our journey :). The beds were very comfortable, the blankets were so soft and warm, Aaron also offered a heater in our Teepee as well. There is a communal shower and bathroom, which was very clean. And an outdoor kitchen, which had photos of famous singers and nice flowers hanging. Aaron's dogs and horse were also friendly and great to hang out with. The stars were beautiful and bright, and the sunrise over the monuments was lovely. Tipi Village is located right next to Monument Valley, just across the state line in Utah. Aaron is a great host! He gave us an east-facing tipi, which made for an amazing sunrise! This is kind of a camping experience, so be prepared with food (there is a full outdoor kitchen), flashlights and your own towels. He hooked us up with a tour of the valley and hung out with us later, telling stories of his life, life on the reservation and his kids. It's maybe charming and wonderful on paper but as soon as you arrived, you face a different reality : the entrance of the tipi village is a beautiful TRASH DUMP (see pictures) with no one to welcome you. We had to enter in the village to find two ladies in a great discussion who ignored us for a long time. With no hi nor welcome, they asked us if we were there to check in and the oldest one walked us down our tipi (which wasn't the one I reserved 6 months earlier and had a view on the fence instead of mesas). We tried to switch with the one that was empty at the time but they didn't want to find a solution and didn't find the need to tell they were sorry. So we had to sleep in the wrong one with no view despite the confirmation email we received six months before and the entire payment we were asked to do at that time to make sure we had that specific tipi. Beside, there are only two restrooms (a toilet + a shower in each one) and that is not enough for all the people in the camp. Expect extended queuing in the morning. Fortunately, they are not very clean so you definitely don't want to spend a long time in it. So the only star I give is for the friendly dog who welcomed us and shared some time with us while we were there. Thank you Zeus ! read more

Stay here if you want to have unparalleled views of Monument Valley on all sides! I stayed here with a large group of people and subsequently got to stay in a tipi as well as one of the small 2 person houses and the large and traditionally decorated octagon house that sleeps up to 8 people. My friends also stayed in one of the pop up tents. The views morning and night are what make this place such an excellent stay as well as the wonderful staff. Even though you're in the desert, the staff keep the place and bathrooms spotless! I didn't interact with the owner myself but he was very accommodating to our group. But my favorite person was Bob, the manager. He is so friendly and will chat with you about anything! They just started serving a continental breakfast for a nominal fee which was delicious and nicely set up in the common outdoor dining area. Plus if you are an animal lover, you'll have the pleasure of meeting three sweetheart dogs who will love you even more if you happen to share a bite of your dinner with them. There's also Cloudy, whom I dubbed the Flower Pot Kitty, as she sleeps in the pots. And Cinnamon the horse is always up for a pat on the head. As other reviews indicate, there is adequate bedding in every type of dwelling and the tipis have twin beds and fold out cots so you don't have to sleep on the floor unless you want to. And there is electricity and lamps in each space save for pop up tents. We found the Tipi to be chilly at night but no problems with a toasty warm sleeping bag! The houses were also quite snug. There are two full baths and an outhouse. Amazingly enough we made it work with the 13 in our group plus the other half dozen strangers staying at any given night. I think they plan to build more bathrooms soon though. We also did a tour of Monument Valley with a Navajo guide organized by Tipi Village and the tour was amazing!! This place was such a fantastic find. It's not everyday you can say you spent the night in a tipi when visiting Monument Valley. My husband found the Monument Valley Tipi Village on TripAdvisor and read some great reviews. He started emailing with one of the owners - Bob - and inquired about a room. We decided to maximize our long weekend for 4th of July and do a trip out to Monument Valley, The Grand Canyon and Sedona. This was our first stop on our trip and when we arrived, we were greeted by Aaron - one of the Navajo owners who lives on site with his family. Aaron showed us the facilities - a communal area in the center and a very clean bathroom - one male and one female featuring a toilet and shower in each - very clean although be prepared to wait if you want to use the bathrooms and there are a lot of people staying at the village. Aaron also showed us the free wi-fi password. You will see many dogs running around - they are friendly and became mascots of the village, lounging at our table and tipi site. Currently, the tipi village has 5 tipis, one modern octagon cabin and 3 campsites with running water, a picnic table, and even your own cedar wood overhead shelter and grill. We were told to park our cars next to our tipi - the whole area is fenced off and the doors are closed off in the evening so no strange cars can drive in. The interior of our tipi was outfitted with two cots, two camping chairs, a table and two lamps. It was fairly warm so there's also a large fan to air the tipi out. We were so impressed by the staff and the tipi was so great. It is one of the more affordable options in Monument Valley and you wake up to some stunning views even if you aren't actually IN the park. We even arranged a private guided tour with Aaron and we were paired with a great Navajo guide named Pat. She showed us the sites and also sang to us at the Big Hogan arch - it was truly memorable. If you take a trip to Monument Valley and want a unique experience - a bit of glamping - then this place is a great option and really affordable! I can't wait to go back sometime. read more

Such a fun, and unique way to spend a night in Monument Valley. The staff was extremely friendly from the early stages of making a reservation, and on. Staying in the tipi is a healthy medium between camping and a basic hotel stay- it definitely gets cold at night... you are in a tipi. There is electricity, so you will be able to charge electronics, and a light is provided- but if the temperatures are looking chilly, pack accordingly (extra blankets are available in your tipi trunk). There is a shared hut with two separate bathrooms including showers, as well as a shared community space with seating, a sink, and a grill/refrigerator. I have two main standouts for this stay: 1, the stargazing was absolutely unbelievable. 2, there were very friendly dogs roaming the property. I asked the owner, Aaron, if two of the dogs could stay in our tipi overnight (because I'm a psychotic dog person), and he agreed and therefore made my night. read more

What an experience out in the open Navajo Tribal Park! You will meet Aaron Holiday, a Navajo local and excellent host. He showed us to our tipis and helped us build a fire for our smores. In the evening, Aaron shared a few Navajo words, a bit of their culture and played the flute for us in our tipi. It was a wonderful and a very personal welcome. The tipis are situated right by some mesas and rock formations. The views of the other mesas from a distance is unobscured. The sunsets and sunrises here are breathtaking. They currently have 5 large and comfortable tipis. Inside you will find 2 twin beds, 2 camping chairs, a table, 2 lamps, an industrial fan and power outlets. All tipis have an allocated parking spot, a sheltered picnic table and a grilling stand. There are 2 camping sites if you wish to set up tent in the area, those sites also come with a sheltered picnic table and grill. They have one octagonal log cabin that is larger inside than what it seems from the outside. Also fully equipped. There is a sheltered common area in the center for breakfast with tables, an island that has a microwave and coffee maker. They have free wifi which is great so you can post all you photos when you get back from a long day of exploring. There is a men's and a women's bathroom. Both are of a comfortable size with a shower and is for common use. You would have to wait till its vacant but that seldom happens. 2 hour drive from Page, AZ and 2 hours from the Four Corners. We arrived at Tipi Village in the night and woke up to a breath taking view on all sides. It's a lovely little establishment with cozy tipis and a common but very clean set of bathrooms. We signed up for a tour n our tour guide Pat gave us an unforgettable experience. She took us to the untouched back country which is not accessible without permission of the residents. She shared their native stories, traditions n even sang for us. Coincidentally it started raining while she was singing n that was just so surreal! When we casually discussed with Aaron n Robert how the navajo taco we had at Goulding's was made with canned beans n didn't taste authentic, that evening Aaron brought over a traditional Navajo taco made by his wife! There is also an octagon shape cabin sort of like a Yurt, and some tent camping spots . The place is well kept and clean . All sites have electrical outlets and water, including the Tipi's . The experience was very unique and enjoyable. It rained while we were there and despite having the top flaps closed, we got rain drips from the opening where the tent poles come out the top. We have booked a specific tipi 6 months ago and were asked to do the all payment in advence too. We did so because that one had a specific view. Upon arrival, we were told that we had to sleep in another one which instead of having a nice view on the valley has a panoramic view on a fence. We explained the situation and the people didn't even try to find a solution. They didn't feel sorry neither and no one apologies for the mistake. We spent two nights in the Navajo park in a Tipi and it was a highlight of our trip. Aaron met us and checked us in with his laid back and friendly character. The tipi also includes an outside grill area so you can cook food easily yourself. It is very much setup for camping but you can make it as luxurious as you want with a cooked dinner from Bob or a private fire. No alcohol is served on the park or allowed so keep that in mind if you like a beer in the evening (bring it with you) Also, there are wild dogs that can be loud around sunrise so bring some ear plus so you can sleep longer if you want. You can see sunset and sunrise from the tipi and its a 2 minute car ride to the monument valley entrance. Highly recommended, a very rich and warm experience. Aaron and Bob were really nice. Even other workers were very friendly as well. They made sure we were comfortable and have all we need. The tipis were surprisingly big inside. Heaters are available during winter. The place is well kept and very clean. They also offer tours. We had David as our guide. David did a fantastic job. He went above and beyond. He gave us a lot of information about their culture. I highly recommend this place. The location was perfect. Very close to the buttes and other monuments. We stayed in the octagon log cabin in July and it was amazing. Beautifully built, comfortable and roomy. There's a picnic table, sun shade and spigot right outside the door, and rest rooms with showers 20 paces away. It's just a couple of miles from Monument Valley Tribal Park, and in a centrally located spot on the Navajo Nation. The hosts were great. We ordered up a Navajo taco dinner one night and it was grand. We even got adopted by Boolah, one of the camp dogs. She'd come visit us each morning and around supper (who knew?), and was a total sweetheart. We'd come here again in a heartbeat. read more

This place looks like it could have been fantastic but it ended completely ripping us off. I called twice during the day and checked the website to see what time check in went until, but no word. Then we showed up just after sunset and no one was around. The office was locked saying no one would be back until morning..just after 9. So instead of getting our campsite we had to sleep in the car. When I called the next day, the manager told me that parking there was the same price anyways.. Which we could have done anywhere. Also, he argued saying he was around all night when we checked multiple times for anyone to help us. Additionally, there was no sign of even an apology. Very disappointed in this place. He was really friendly and accommodating. We went on a tour of both Monument Valley and Mystery Valley with one of their guides. I think his name was Aryan. It was a very special experience. We stayed here in our RV, along with friends. The main business is the Tipis, however the owners created two RV hookup sites in the front. We had water and 50 amp electric. Our space originally had 30 amp but when the owner heard we wanted 50 amp he went and purchased a 50 amp circuit and installed it immediately. Very friendly and accommodating owners and staff. We paid $35 per night which is a great value for the area. We would stay here again. read more

Had a great time here. We camped. There is a table and benches. Also a light and water right at your campsite. They have wifi as well. Plenty of room to set up one's tent. There are bathrooms with toilets and showers. The folks were all very nice and helpful. Bob gave us some hot chocolate when we mentioned we didn't have any for the next AM (it's our coffee). Roadtrip from boston to California and stopped by here. Thank goodness we did. All 9 of us on this roadtrip left here feeling rejuvenated and wellrested. The owners were so nice, giving us towels and even starting our fire for us when we didn't know how. In the morning they had coffee and delicious doughnuts for us. We stayed in a cabin and a tipi and both were warm and spacious. Extremely clean bathrooms right outside our tipi and cabin. We all slept very well and woke up to watch the sunset from our table outside the tipi. They give guided tours from here to monument valley but we decided to go on our own. I would only recommend this if your in a rush and if you have a SUV. My friend had a Honda civic and it bottomed out alot and was difficult to do a self tour on the unpaved roads of monument valley. Just go with the campsite tours, they have great trucks with open seats. Also if you love animals this place is perfect. Two people I travelled with loves cats and dogs and there were a couple extremely well behaved cats and dogs on site. I think they would leave you alone if you wanted them to but we loved them and they hung out with us by the fire. I would definitely come back to the place, beautiful accomodations and great people working there. read more
