She gave one of the most relaxing massages I've ever had. I mentioned tight glutes and ankle tendinitis, and she worked on both with care. On my way to spa I had an unfortunate emergency that I rather not going into details. After I solved my emergency I called the spa to speak to the owner to explain my situation and see if they can make an exception and take me at 11am instead of 10:30am for my 90 min package. There was no answer, so I proceeded to text the number. I asked through text if they'll make an exception due to my unexpected emergency. The person that answered the text "sure no problem, drive safe". I said thank for making the exception and apologized for any inconvenience. Well, guess what?!?! She didn't give me the full services and rushed through the massage and facial. Obviously I don't have a watch or cell on me I felt it was rushed but didn't say anything cause I wasn't 100% sure until she finished and I immediately went to my cell. This is where everything went wrong NO COMMUNICATION. I asked the therapist what happened I thought she was making an exception. That's when she tells me that sh already had someone at noon; which I get but why not explain that over the phone or when I got there/ the. I said I would've rescheduled. She responded there was a charge again she didn't say that over the phone. She never gave me any options or anything explain that she couldn't make an exception. She doesn't know if for me it was better to pay the rescheduling fee than having a rushed massage and facial. Or maybe I could've just chosen to have just the massage and come back for the facial. I didn't know my options, didn't know she had another client at 12pm, didn't know the rescheduling fee, and she made it seem through text that she was giving me an exception due to my emergency (i was thinking she didn't have another client and that's why she was accepting it). I'm a new client this was Christmas gift from my brother and I was looking for are for a nice and much needed massage. The owner needs to retrain about communicating with the clients and being clear when Responding to text messages. I totally understand she couldn't give me a longer service because it'll affect the next client but she never communicated that to me, never gave me any options and responded yes about my request of making an exception. The sheets were cold, the table is not heated. She brings in a spa- music speaker of some sort that repeats the same songs for the length of the hour. She did not ask me about trouble spots or pressure. She was very good but she had her own method that appears to be what she does in all clients. In the end when I turned over she didn't do front of my arms. She also told my husband it was 90 for 1 hour but she charged $100. With tip $120. I'd rather go to a hotel, be slightly upcharged to have use of spa amenities, thorough history done, preferences on temp and pressure given, and after care. She was absolutely amazing! I did the deep tissue with the hot stones and my body felt rejuvenated after. Norma was very informative and explained to me the different steps of the massage (for example, she told me how stress had caused fluid to buildup underneath my arms, which I didn't even know!). She massaged areas that I didn't even know were tense and was very respectful when massaging my thigh area. As I was paying at the end of the appointment, Norma asked me how I felt and I told her I was good but there was just a little bit of pain in my upper back area but that it was ok and instead of being satisfied with my answer, Norma helped stretch me out until I was pain free. I paid for one hour and it ended up actually being an hour and 15 minutes because Norma went above and beyond for me. I truly recommend her and this spa. To clarify the facts: we did call the business. Because the staff member on the phone spoke very limited English and communication was difficult, we were asked to continue the conversation on WhatsApp. We have call records to prove this. At no point--on Groupon, during the call, or in WhatsApp--were we informed that Groupon vouchers are only valid during certain hours. If "coupons can't be used during peak hours," that policy must be clearly disclosed on the Groupon listing. It is not. Expecting customers to guess undisclosed rules is unacceptable. Instead of being helped, we were treated rudely and told our reservation would not be honored, with no alternative offered. We were also surprised to find that only one staff member was present for a couples massage appointment. When we politely asked for an exception or any solution, we were told directly that they "don't care about reviews." Now, rather than addressing these concerns, the business chooses to publicly insult customers by calling them liars. Businesses are allowed to have policies. They are not allowed to hide them, change them after the fact, or treat paying customers with disrespect. Based on both the experience and the owner's response, I strongly do not recommend this place.
