We could tell right away how knowledgeable, experienced and compassionate they are as animal lovers and caregivers. While our family was away on vacation, Liz went above and beyond in looking after our boys. We received regular updates complete with photos and videos showing our boys looking happy, comfortable and well cared for. Liz was diligent in adhering to the feeding and medication schedules for both dogs, and provided them with affection and care throughout her visits. When we returned, the house was tidy, our dogs were calm and content, and we could enjoy a stress-free reunion knowing they had been in the most capable hands. The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

I imagined her making brownies, popcorn, having a BBQ and not turning off the grill afterwards. Carried away-then I remembered this is Molly, our favorite cat, and prepared to have someone else in our messy house. The manager "Mollie" was very organized. We, were very detailed. I organized food in one cabinet, with post-its for info, post-it where her room litterbox was after already giving info to the manager I think it helped make things simpler. We started getting daily reports, with "basics" box checked. They were thorough, precise, and complete. My Dad worked for Polaroid for 20 years, and these pet sitters were awesome at taking pictures. Every day we'd open up the emails and this noise would come out of our mouths: not ooh! Yecch! But...: Awwww, look at how cute she looks. Her wariness and caution as a cat showed, but her shyness rounded the corner a bit. Sitter4paws let us take a long vacation worry free at what we thought were reasonable prices, for a truly truly worry free vacation. I will never use them again after my TERRIBLE experience. Initially used this service for a short business trip with success so tried again for a longer trip to see family between Christmas and NYE. The company sent a sitter I had never met who incorrectly used the pill injector on my sick, elderly cat and forced her to swallow the over inch-long applicator tip. Resulted in $3,000 emergency vet surgery to remove that I had to manage from out of town. So deeply stressful for me but mainly my poor elderly asthmatic cat!! They handled it but SO unnecessary and only happened bc of their bizarre business model where they pick whichever of their employees are available, not someone who knows your house/pet. So if you get one who knows what they're doing you don't necessarily get them again - it's totally random from the customer's perspective. Instead of enjoying my family I had to spend the time managing the emergency they created from afar, stressed and fuming that I trusted this company to send someone competent to care for my sweet older cat. After the first disastrous pill delivery issue they sent the **same person** again a day later who clearly doesn't know how to give a cat medication and she, again, incorrectly gave my cat her medication!!! My cat gets ill if she misses just one day, the medication is a high-dose steroid for her asthma. The employee did not know how to give her the pill, but still marked the medication as administered on their form (I only figured out it didn't happen when I read the notes) and instead of giving her the pill rubbed it on her gums -?!? I am FURIOUS for my poor cat and at the incompetence of this employee they continue to use, along with the management that assured me they know how to give cats medication and yet still sent this individual out after it was proved that they cannot give a cat medication effectively. The other employees seemed to be ok but I had no choice over who they sent over, meaning every visit was a gamble. If you need anything beyond the most basic service, avoid avoid avoid!!!

The sitters who watched my cat took detailed notes and lots of photos, there was great detail in the reports. The sitters followed my instructions to a tee. We had an issue with my lockbox but they were so gracious and kind as we worked through it together. They spoiled him in his last days. On the final day it was reported my kitty had thrown up. When I got home he had not improved and I brought him to the vet. Unfortunately, his cancer had spread and I had to say goodbye. This had nothing to do with the care VPS gave Archer. In fact, I think the care they gave him helped him wait for me. When I am ready for a furry friend again, I will be using this company and will recommend them to all my friends.

I panicked. I kept thinking I made the wrong decision because I had several business trips planned, and several days at work where I just couldn't be at home to let him out for a potty break and keep consistency with his time to play, rest, and potty train. I heard about Valley Pet Sitting years ago when I had my first precious boy, but although I called them, it turned out I didn't need them because I had family that could pitch in when I was away. They literally saved my life with my new puppy. They come to the house and give me a play-by-play of everything they did with my puppy (including taking pictures and videos of him playing in the backyard with them) on their app. They also use a Gio tag so you can see where they are when you pooch goes for a walk or just plays in the backyard. The sitters are kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. They asked me every detail about how I take care of him and what's important to me in my home to make sure they don't leave anything disturbed. They even called to make sure that it was OK for him to be on the couch when he made a decision to take a nap during a visit. They are exceedingly responsive and reasonably price for the quality of care and peace of mind I get from their support. I love this company and will certainly be recommending them to friends and family in need of Pet Sitting.
