We called ahead of time to make a reservation for 2 at 7pm, and upon our arrival. They informed us they only had one masseuse. The person who scheduled us was the regular scheduler so a mistake was made. We had to come the next day for our massage. Situations like this is a huge inconvenience to our schedule. My boyfriend and I went in for a couples deep tissue massage and came out with some different experiences/ thoughts despite being in the same room. He had a male therapist who was able to get into his knots and give him great care. He felt very relieved afterwards. Unfortunately, my experience didn't quite match that. My therapist, one of the few female therapists working that day, seemed tired and a bit rushed. There were several areas that my boyfriend noticed his therapist addressed that mine did not, which stood out since I've had deep tissue massages elsewhere where those areas are typically worked on. It was later in the day as that was when they had the availability for us and so I can understand their fatigue a bit. The front desk lady was super accommodating to us and even gave us a free add on service to make up for our troubles. Overall not a bad experience just mediocre in my opinion. read more

My visit to Moon Massage was...fine. Not amazing, not terrible--just okay. The space was clean and calm, and booking was easy enough, which I appreciated. The massage itself hit some relaxing notes, but it was definitely different from what I'm used to. This was my first time trying some place that's completely different than what I'm accustomed to, so I think everything is really just personal preference. That said, it served its purpose as a quick, no-frills reset. If you're just looking for a basic massage without a lot of extra polish or ambiance, this might do the trick. Moon's is your cookie cutter Asian owned massage shop. The staff is super nice and friendly and the place is clean. However, that's about it. The rooms are set up with the typical makeshift walls, so you hear absolutely everything, to include anyone entering and inquiring at the front desk. During my massage, the woman giving me the massage was conversing with another, so it was not a quiet atmosphere at all. In addition to talking to others, she left the room on multiple occasions to what sounded like, helping at the front desk along with other tasks. Therefore, my massage was not a continuous experience; nor did it total the entirety of the 90 mins I booked, when you account for all the times she left the room. The massage itself was mediocre at best. It wasn't the absolute worst I've had, but it certainly wasn't even close to great. Unfortunately, the massage was more dissatisfying than it was good, as she was not trained to stay clear of bones; to massage only muscles and soft tissue! She would use her elbows and forearms to add pressure, but did so on my shins, knees, spine, etc. Overall, I would not come back here. read more

Excellent massage, clean rooms. Great pressure, give it 5 stars for massage quality. They make you pay up front, then they ask for tip after. I understand as they must have been burned in the past. The one thing I didn't like is the masseuse stood and watched me tip and the staff showed my signed receipt to my masseuse. They spent maybe 30% of that 45 on the back (which is what I said to focus on) and basically the remaining 30 on our feet (?) . Other therapist was digging her nails into her and when she told the therapist it hurt, she kept going. Not to mention they made no effort to be quiet, kicking stuff out of their way, talking at a regular volume to each other a lot of it. I get reimbursed for massages through my healthcare, which requires me to submit the receipt and license numbers for the therapist and business (public information). The front desk told me they could provide this for me and have it ready by the end of the massage. 10 minutes into the massage the front desk woman interrupts and tells me that she cannot provide this and that i can get a refund if I stop the massage. So I did. This is extremely frustrating. As for the massage, it was supposed to be deep tissue, but was far from that despite my efforts in telling the therapist to go harder. I got a 60 min deep tissue massage and it was horrible. Must have been a different massuse, but it was not deep tissue at all. Mostly just rubbing lotion on my back. I asked for the upper back to be my focus point. She only lightly rubbed the actual muscles and went super hard on my bones. Went really quick on my feet too. Just felt like she was trying to get the session over with. Overall it is pretty clean and relaxing, I just had a bad experience with this massuse. They did not give me any type of refund. read more

This place offers massages, traditional coining (gua sha), and cupping. I came here with a group and had a full combo body massage plus traditional cupping. The lady who helped me was excellent. Everything was good until towards the end. She tried to put out the flames after she finished the cupping process but struggled. I got anxious so I asked her if everything was okay while lying down. She noticed my anxiety so she took the flake stick out of the room and asked another staff to help her. Phew! Otherwise massage was excellent. My feet were killing me; one day I walked over 24k steps While in NOLA, I saw that there were 3 foot spas on 1 block of street but I decided to save my money and wait till I got home.
