Catherine performed at my 1 year olds birthday party and was fantastic to work with. Before the event she was extremely communicative. She responded quickly and made the booking process simple. On the day of the event we had a million things going on plus lots of small children (ages 5 and under) running around. When the music class started, with a strum of the guitar, everyone settled and the fun really began. The kids had a blast, particularly the 2 and 3 year olds who were in attendance. She played the classics and we all had a great time. Even my mom was up there shaking it! I highly recommend Catherine for any event. read more

My family has been involved with Moon River Music Together for over three years, and we have found the program to be nothing but delightful. My kids are the kind who get up, explore the room, touch the instruments - these sorts of behaviors are not only tolerated by Catherine and the teachers, but encouraged. The make-up schedule is well articulated and flexible, which is important when dealing with little ones. Wholeheartedly recommend! read more

This is my personal opinion based on my experience. I think I may have had high expectations. Catherine Moon being a yoga teacher, I thought that the musical experience would allow children to experience with oriental sounds and current musical instruments. I absolutely love her yoga classes. They always surprise me. But the children's party session by Catherine Moon was disappointing. Maybe she was having a bad day? After all many people had sworn her musical sessions were enriching to all children. Well, the children didn't look that thrilled. They hardly paid any attention to her. She starts off singing children songs with a bad voice. Choked on her own efforts twice and laughed it out when nobody found it funny. Sometimes gave children an egg or a stick to make noise with, and then chased them around to get it back. Too scared to lose her things. Sang some more with her guitar. And in the very end lays other instruments out and lets children touch them for 3 minutes. I didn't find her affectionate. She was polite. She turned a 45 minute show into a 30 minute show. She told us she could wait until 12:30 to start but at 12:15 she wanted to start as she needed to set up for the other place. Then she told my husband that she wanted her money and get out of there. We do not recommend her. Not worth the 200 bucks we paid. But we had a good laugh at night thinking of her performance and the children's near zero interest on her. I think she really needs to work on her show and on her humility. read more

I just got the guitar packed very well UPS in two days to Maine! They not only described the guitar correctly, it is nicer than they said! The case is original and came with the guitar also. Best deal online for that model guitar and very friendly helpful staff. Dylan is the main guy to deal with and the lady that sent me the invoice and updated tracking number was very kind and helpful as well. Although they are not a huge music instrument store, they have some very nice instruments and i am going to browse their things in the future as i know they are very trustworthy and live up to expectations! I assembled instrument and every thing seemed to be OK. However, when I assembled it at home, I noticed the middle joind woobled a lot, something I did not notice earlier. I called Peter to ask how come he did not notice that. His response was not only rude, but downright nasty. "I did not notice any movement with the middle joint." I stated , how is it possible that I take the instrument home and notice a severe middle joint wobble. He responded, if you don't like how I repair your instrument don't bring it back to me. You bet, I would never bring any instrument to your basement shop. Warning to would be woodwind owners don't bring your instrument to Peter Bannon, if you complain about the work, expect insults.

This is a great municipal pool! Spacious and doesn't feel too crowded even on busy days & holiday…read moreweekends when you can hardly find parking (though the parking lot is quite large). There are a few picnic tables and grills on the lawn. No pool lounge chairs or towel service so bring your own chairs, picnic blankets, food/snacks and other accoutrements to enjoy a leisurely summer day. Facilities are clean and well-maintained. Very kids/toddler-friendly. The sizeable shallow end has several sprinklers/splash fountains for children to play in, and there are slides on both the kiddie and adult sides. Also a playground in the back (not affiliated with the pool). There are always many life guards on duty every time I've gone. The pool is accessible only to Clarkstown residents and their guests, so if you're not a resident befriend someone who is. You must obtain a Clarkstown resident ID card first at the registration office at 31 Zukor Road in New City. (The pool won't simply accept a driver's license.) Rates can be either daily or seasonal for individuals or family, and are very reasonable compared to similar community pools.

It's no exaggeration that these monsters from the deep probably kept a legion of child psychiatrists in full time employment. On a recent visit it was nice to see that the previous snake-ridden den of iniquity has long been been replaced with a legitimate pool and that the mythological beasts of years past have been slayed by chlorine and actual cement walls. You can even see right to the bottom. What a concept. This is what Nanuet Lake should have been like all along... no thanks whatsoever to my parents who thought this was some tough love version of Shangri La, albeit minus the all consuming bliss one often finds in paradise. I kid about my parents (almost) and am happy to bestow five easy stars for a childhood reclaimed. I still hate snakes.
