Our 10 year old attends a Saturday math enrichment class taught by Dr. Orlov -- a wonderful educator whose credentials include a lengthy stint in mathematics education at Bergen Academies -- where he teaches the best and the brightest. The strong ethnic flavor of this school may seem daunting for non-Russian speakers -- but all classes (except for Russian of course) are taught in English by fully bilingual instructors. If you want to give your son or daughter a leg up in math, chess or art -- School Plus might be a good choice. Tuition is reasonable and the FDU campus is a convenient hop off Route 4.

The way the program is structured works incredibly well for me. I find that two courses per session (8 weeks) works better than four classes per semester (15 to 16 weeks). This type of schedule allows you to focus and actually retain what you are being taught as opposed to the traditional four course model where you are cramming and regurgitating information for all four classes simultaneously, retaining very little. Another huge bonus is the online aspect. If you wish to do so, you can take the vast majority of your courses online and learn in the comfort of your own home. If you are on the go or on a vacation and need to check in to do a discussion post, DeVry has a fantastic phone application that allows you to access your courses from anywhere your smartphone or tablet has data access. When we picked up the trombone, they only charged us not even half of it since the repair was less complicated than they anticipated. They could have charged us with the oroginal amount agreed upon, but they took the high road and valued their customers more than few bucks. Will come back and recommend to everyone we know.
