Stopped in to pick up a few things last week. While at counter being waited on, the guy waiting on me SCREAMS to someone behind me " You need a mask!!!" I turn around and there's a middle-aged woman standing there, looking shocked and embarrassed as heck. She said," I can't wear a mask safely. I have a medical condition". he YELLS at her " Leave!". Then, a female employee, that was behind the counter towards the front of the Store started SCREAMING "GET OUT!! GET OUT!!! GET OUT!!". If I hadn't seen this with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it. They say they order more and then tell you it's up to the manufacturer when it's shipped, who will ship them directly to your home so I know that's not the case. Had a chain over the humidor for cigars that had to be lifted by a homeless looking little dude that literally stood next to me while picking a cigar all the while there are cameras in there. Please note I am reviewing this particular Moon smoke shop location. This one is closer to my house though I much prefer the 4th ave location. That Moon smoke shop is awesome. Now onto my review of this location. I walked in here once and the service was ok. I wasn't given a reciept and wasn't able to return the particular product that I had purchased. The guy there was helpful though he was rushing everyone. The second time, as I walk into the door to purchase some cherry cloves, I hear the guys working there yelling out homphobic words. I don't know if they realize this but a lot of LGBT people frequent their locations. So, it's probably not the wisest thing to do....not to mention it's not very nice. Anyway, I thought to myself that this has got to be them messing around. Well this messing around happened for a few min and they started to include me in it. One of them said to me, "don't worry buddy this F%# will help you out" and this behavior continued. I just looked at them and shook my head as I took a look around the store. I wanted to take some time in there but I really hate that kind of dumb, derogatory talk that insecure guys engage in. Plus, it was making another person in the store very uncomfortable as well. I really wanted my cherry cloves and I had walked to the store anyway. So I purchased them. They were more expensive than walgreens or convinience stores I've seen them in. Moon is good for incense, pipes and other tobacco accessories. It's basic and has what you need. The customer service employees are usually knowledgeable and friendly. However, I had a terrible experience with one clerk with blue hair. She seemed jaded and childish for someone who was clearly no longer a teenager. I came in to buy activated charcoal for a hookah and some incense. I had my nephew with me, who is clearly over the age of 18. The above mentioned clerk chose to ask for his ID, which he had recently lost. When he said he didn't have it, she decided to assert the only power I believe she has in this world, and chose not to sell us *charcoal*. I used to think Moon was a convenient resource for items like activated charcoal, not easily found elsewhere. Complete trash company. I bought a triple perc piece here for $85 and it doesn't work. The percs on it don't actually have any slits in them to drain water to lower chambers or pull smoke through. Well I brought it in the next day and asked the employee behind the counter to please show me how to fill it up, just in case I got it wrong. He went and filled it up and as we watched it try and drain he told me it wasn't working and that it was broken. I then asked if he could give me a discount on another piece since he sold me a piece he knew didn't work, and he told me that he wouldn't be able to anything. He said that they had been open for over 40 years and no one would stop shopping here if we said anything. Have had good to great experiences at the other Moon Smoke Shops in town, so I didn't hesitate to hit up this one when I was in the area. Huge disappointment! Clearly not run by the same people who run the other stores. Three guys stood there staring at me.... I was the only customer... none of them offered to help me.... I had to ask someone to help me... he begrudgingly went over to the counter where I needed help and even then he had so little interest in actually helping me get what I was looking for that I walked out without buying anything. Despite the fact that I was ready to lay out a considerable amount of money. If I had not had the good past experiences at the other Moon Smoke Shops I would have ruled out Moon Smoke Shop from future purchases. We really love this Smoke Shop, the employees are usually very friendly and easy to talk to. Great products. However Just today, I went to purchase some products and was greeted with a terrible attitude from a girl working there. She had green/blue hair and green/blue eyebrows. There's another girl who works there with blue hair who is always very nice, but the one with the green eyebrows gave me a bunch of attitude for no reason today. I'm always very courteous and kind to everyone I meet, and would hope I would get the same treatment. I've been coming to this location for quite awhile and it's five minutes from my house. The atmosphere hasn't changed for as long as I've been coming here (7+ years). They carry your standard glass water pipes and they have a pretty good selection of regular pipes. Although I've never seen many unique pieces here, they've always stayed relatively the same. The thing that bothers me most are the employees. Every time I come in I feel I'm being watched the entire time, like I'm going to steal something. I feel like I'm bothering them if I have questions or want to look at something up close so most of the time I never ask them for anything. My husband and I went in there The day before yesterday and yesterday and we have spent $100 in the past two days maybe more not to mention more in the last week but after spending all that money yesterday my husband wanted to hand back the one bullet lighter they were showing us and buy the one in the plastic which we forgot to do before we walked out the door. So I went back in and let them know & one of the guys quickly switched them out, as soon as my husband looked at it he noticed the paint coming off the bottom so I took it back inside and said never mind just give us the one we paid for all and all of a sudden this was against the rules no exchanges or refunds he said, I want to complain what's the owners I asked, no we can't tell you his name don't know his name don't need to know don't want to know. No he wasn't supposed to exchange it in the first place they're signs all over the store saying this but they did all I wanted was the one back that we paid for but because this one was defective that wasn't OK, one of the employees made a comment that I had dropped one of the lighters I said to clarify if I did drop one of those lighters it was mine but if I drop them both it would be the one you have in the case now not the one I have in my hand. They kept fighting me and fighting me. I asked him for the owners name because I forgot it when they told it to me the night before and they had told it to me earlier that day but now that I wanted to complain about something suddenly it was against protocol and against the rules. Well I do remember the hours he works so he will be receiving a phone call from me. I told the manager on duty if you don't do exchanges or refunds then your employee should've never done it and I need the lighter back I paid for he told me it wasn't his problem that his employee broke their protocol and rules. I told him really so your employee screws things up and the customer has to suffer amazing customer service is beyond amazing here finally they agree to give me back my original lighter and told me to never come back which I hadn't planned on anyways I had just spent almost $200 that week and that's how I got treated. They don't need to tell me not to come back because it's my money they will never see again because I don't need them there's 20 smoke shops in Tucson with the same if not better products and prices like Head East for example & they've been in Tucson probably the longest, and always have the best customer service. She went in not even a week ago and bought an e-cig for 40, will they didn't even ask her what her needs were for the e-cig; like how much you smoke, do you like heavy hits, ect... Well she tried to take it back today and they won't even help her out. They said no re-turns. On top of it they sold her a Hotvape, Hotvape doesn't even come with a warranty at all. Freedom at lease will give a 30 day on there battier and tanks. I don't even like freedom smoke, but they will at lease talk to you and see what fits you in your every day use.
