I went into the store to pick up a bottle of Hennessy VSOP Privilege as a gift for someone who only drinks that particular one. I checked the website before going in. Once there they didn't know what I was talking about despite my showing them the picture on the app. They made me think I had looked up the wrong store. I humored them and changed it even though I knew I had chosen the right store. Didn't even acknowledge that something was wrong if the app showed the had it. They did make an effort however one of them insinuated that I was trying to get a more expensive item for the price listed. I didn't appreciate that at all. When people in a large business make new customers feel like old friends, that's a place you want to visit again and again. Everyone made me and my companion feel so welcome. We were invited to an in-store tasting. The hostess was extremely knowledgeable and didn't force us towards any particular brand. That was Rhea. She was fun and knew about so many different types of alcohol. Then, Byron helped us find EXACTLY what has been impossible to find anywhere else! I had never visited this company before until I walked into the one in Tucson Arizona. Boy or boy let me tell you pretty much any drink that you were looking for while you're making it and mixing it yourself or looking for already premade this was the place to be. I would have given five stars but the fact that when I walked into the store and looked around for about 10 minutes and still cannot find what I was looking for three associates working there walked by me or stood by me not even asking if I was eating any type of help finding anything. So it took me the customer looking to find an associate asking for a particular wine that I was looking for then the help was above and beyond. But as far as the nature of the reason of why you would visit this location then I say it is well worth going in anytime you see one of the stores based off of their inventory. read more

Visited the store at Park Place Mall and I was not disappointed. Large selection, large variety and the prices range from very affordable to very fine liquor $. What I like is that you can always find something for yourself or to gift. Speaking of gifts, they carry wine glasses, nice sets and novelty glasses for gifting, wine cooler "handbags " that are really cute for a female friend, really nice and beautiful decanters (all prices) and for those that smoke there is a humidor. My goodness, I just enjoy looking at all the brands, domestic and imported , for just one type of liquor at a time. Who knew how many whiskeys or tequilas there could be? The first one I went in was very nicely arranged, had a woman who knew everything about everything I needed help with, and her recommendations were top notch! She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed! I wish I knew her name! She was the epitome of EXCELLENT customer service! Several other employees asked if I needed help as I navigated my way through the ginormous store. (This is what I rated it 5 stars for.) The second one, closer to the south end of town, was not nearly as customer-service oriented. It was smaller and not arranged as well. When I asked for help, the man who was stocking something, pointed to the general direction and told me all they had was on aisle x or xx. I couldn't find them, so I settled for something else. I am absolutely heartbroken to be writing this review. I've been a loyal customer to this location on work trips, as well as one's near home on a regular basis. However this experience was horrendous and I cannot support Total Wine any further. A group of 4 of us walked in- three POCs and myself. Myself and another were entirely sober, and the other two of my coworkers were tipsy. The closing manager approached us upon entering. We were all in a good mood, knocking jokes and whatnot, but nothing disruptive or crazy by ANY means. She took one look at us and told us to get out, and my coworker said "Sorry, I'm a little tipsy." She took that line and ran with it, rushing all of us out of the door. She did not hesitate to run us all out, making God knows what sorts of assumptions about our group. As we were exiting, she rose absolute Hell, screaming for us to leave the store; mind you- the exit is on the other side, opposite from where we were standing. She caused an absolutely UNNECESSARY scene, embarrassing all of us. read more

While staying in the Tucson area for a couple of days we were glad to see that there was a Total Wine store nearby. It's our favorite place to get wine and beer when we are in our home town. It is essentially the same as our store except it is larger. They have the largest selection of everything I've ever seen. It is especially true of the Craft Beers. I found my favorite Blue Moon beer and it was about $2 cheaper than our store. In fact most of the products we looked at were less. read more

The selection here is mind amazing. Just about anything you would want is here. The prices are competitive unless you are looking for the cheapest product one can get. To me, it's worth the 1% or so extra for this awesome store. It takes me 15 minutes to get to the store and it's worth the drive. The store is very clean and the products neatly shelved and organized. The product selection is so dense that better signage would really help. A map at the front of the store would be nice. I am a bit disappointed that the cold storage are is a bit on the lean side especially in the beer area. I would really like to taste some of the beers they carry; however, buying a 6-pack of an unknow product can be expensive. Single bottle service and/or tasting events would really enhance this store. I do have to say that finding help is a bit of a chore as most employees are concentrated up front with the check-out area. It would be nice to have somebody who is product knowable to consult with on new product selection. In that respect, Bev-Mo is the better store if one wants to explore products and the differences. read more

We were looking for a specific wine and one of the workers (I forget his name) took time to walk us to the section to help locust. It was no longer in stock but he pointed at some which were similar. I have only been in here a few times over the years and it must've been quite a while since my last visit because this place is absolutely phenomenal! From what they stock, the presentation of the products (yes alcohol!), and best of all the low prices! And I was easily able to find my favorite, select beverages and they were only about half price from what find elsewhere in Tucson. What I was really surprised to find was that they sell cigars here and have a very nice walk in humidor. Usually most retail stores don't have or carry good quality cigars and the cigars they sell can usually be used as tinder for a fire because they are so dry. But not at this store; the humidor was very well humidified, the cigars were in great shape and they had a fantastic selection of premium cigars! Oh and did I mention the cigars cost about 50% less than what you pay in the typical cigar shop? This was a great find, I found one stop shopping for my favorite beverages and cigars! read more

I was a kid in a candy store with eyes like saucers when I walked around this gigantic store. I have no idea how anyone, staff included, find anything. My mom found wine which is in multiple isles. Again, she knew her way around but I was lost. I even wondered off like a proper kid in a candy store! Haha. Total Wine should be called Liquor Emporium. You want it, they have it. Don't know what you want? You'll discover it. I honestly could have spent two hours just browsing without noticing if I was alone. The prices seemed reasonable, and a price range for everyone. I checked out the local beers and they were all the standard prices I'm used to. No hefty markup. I was happy to see that. I enjoyed the make your own six pack section too but again, way too big a selection for me to choose! I'll definitely be coming back when I've got some extra money to spend. I reallllly like this place. After my last trip to the dreadful BevMo, I disowned them as my favorite liquor store. Let me tell you why this place is better: 1. Price, price, price! Total Wine has very competitive pricing. I'm a boxed wine kind of girl. There is a $2-3 dollar difference between the boxed wine at BevMo and Total Wine. Now, I know that dollar amount won't break the bank, but if I can save a couple of bucks, why not?! Another example is the glassware. At BevMo, they charge $3.99 PER glass. I was in need of some martini glasses and spent $9 on two. They don't sell sets (weird, right?!) At Total Wine, I bought a 4 pack of some very nice, glass, long stem wine glasses for...$10! Seriously, I don't know how BM gets away with their glassware pricing. 2. Ambiance. Upon entering Total Wine, you get the sensation that you have walked into an expensive, upscale liquor store. The layout is nice and it's very easy to navigate and find what you want or need. TW is nicely lit, but not with the industrial, gross fluorescent lighting like BevMo. 3. Customer service!!! They are nice, attentive (but not too attentive) and eager to help. Bottom line: you won't get that at BevMo. So there you go. Do yourself a favor and switch to Total Wine. read more
