We were doing a landscape for our backyard and we wanted to get some palm trees. Moon Valley is just a short distance from our place so we decided to check it out. The place is huge and they carry a lot of trees. The trees are already grown and can range from 5 years and above. They have a lot of selection. The price is a bit steep for us but all of their trees look healthy. The trees can be purchased and they will plant them for you. We don't see small gallon plants and the smallest plant is about 5 gallons If you are looking for big trees, this place is the right one for you. read more

WOWWWW - the perfect word to describe Moon Valley Nurseries is WOW! The layout of the nursery is so cozy and cute! We were greeted by Daniel & he gave us his undivided attention. We were interested in getting a privacy hedge for our new house in Oakley & he was so knowledgeable and showed us their most popular hedge style trees. We were unsure about the price but we ultimately decided to purchase with Daniel because he was so passionate when talking about their product and the service they provide is unbeatable. We just had three large plants/trees planted by Moon Valley and it was a five star experince. From the moment I stopped by to see what they had, the service was awesome and one on one. They drove me around their property to show me what they had, and I decided on a few. As a few others have mentioned, they have LARGE plants and trees. Actually the ones we chose were too large for me to handle, so I opted for delivery and planting. Yesterday was delivery day, and this massive and awesome truck with a full crew showed up. It was really impressive. The crew was incredible and they worked fast. I was a little concerned that they might leave my yard looking a little messy, but that never hapenned. They did a great job planting the trees and they look like they've been there for years. Now, these guys are pricey. I spent more on these trees that I've ever spend before, but it was worth it. read more

Beautiful trees and selection of plants, however, some are WAY too expensive. I was quoted $2000 for a palm that I found for $179 at Home Depot. While this may not be true for every tree they sell, I'd say items at this nursery are highly overpriced. Secondly, I've never felt so uncomfortable at a nursery before.. had I known I would be receiving the same treatment as a used car lot in terms of the aggressive salesman, I wouldn't have stopped by. Definitely don't waste your time unless you are planning to spend minimum $2,000! read more

Wow this is the place to go if you are looking to upgrade your home. I've been to other locations for my other properties. Was just in town visiting and decided to try this location. Everyone is so friendly! A sales guy, named William greeted me right when I arrived. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. He put us at ease with his knowledge and expertise. I went to the Brentwood store on August 1 to buy a tree. A nice store with great selection-but I was charged over $400 for a bag of mulch and a Jacaranda tree in a 15 gallon bucket. I think that is a criminal price. I walked all the way to the back of the nursery through thick gravel (must have been 90 degrees) found the tree I wanted, walked back to the front of the store, got a dolly, walked to the back again and hauled the tree through the heavy gravel until I was maybe a hundred yards from the storefront at which time an young man with an artificially nice salesman's aspect came to help me the rest of the way. I took the tree home and planted it myself. It's a nice tree. It should have gold leaves. read more

Moon Valley just completed my yard installation and am very happy. My yard was barren clay soil with an upslope hill. My initial contact with Mike was great. He visited and walked the backyard and worked with me on design and plant/tree selection and flagging site for install. Shereen contacted me to confirm install date and what to expect. Nic and crew came and did a terrific job with preparation and planting, clean up and aftercare instructions. My yard went from barren dirt to a lovely array of plants, a lemon and olive tree. After the install Shereen contacted me to make sure I was pleased and again shared care instructions. The plants are beautiful, hardy, well cared for and high quality. I purchased a palm tree two years ago for $6,000. The purchase included removing and replacing the 15 year old existing tree. The tree itself was $2,000. The rest of the project including removal and planting the new tree was about $4,000. I must say the staff and workers were very courteous and knowledgeable. Staff who removed and installed the new tree were excellent. However, the tree has not grown one bit. The tree looks like it is barely holding on. The fronds are thin and unhealthy. I've fertilized as directed. I complained about it during the first year. I was supposed to have a warranty if any problems occurred. The warranty says if customer have problems with their tree during the first year, I would get a new tree. I presented a problem and was told by sales staff, I think his name was Jeremy, I would have to pay $2,000 for another tree. He said the new tree was bigger than the first tree. I was taken aback since I measured the trunk of the new tree and the trunk was about the same size. Giving Jeremy the benefit of the doubt, I paid another $2,000 for the tree. When the tree was delivered, the crew also noticed the tree was in fact smaller than the first tree. I rejected the tree and sent it back. So much for the warranty! Based on my experience and given the fact that I the company did not adhere to the warranty, I don't recommend using this company. My experience with staff and operations. I give good marks. Not adhering to warranty deserves poor ratings. read more

I needed a replacement tree for my front yard of my home. I decided to check out Moon Valley Nursery, I met Keith and he showed me the amazing selection of trees. We narrowed down the choice based on the type and size of tree. I selected a Red Push Piastache tree that is 6-8 years old (huge) size. Keith was really good explaining the various varieties. Purchasing was easy Keith helped explain various options to help with my decisions. We scheduled a delivery date the following week. The tree was large and everything was included, the Utility alert locate (811) service, delivery and planting. The team arrived on schedule, called to let me know they were on their way. Once onsite, the team (Nic and Rob) set up a safety parameter around the large truck then explained the process. They removed the old tree, carefully dug the new hole and carefully planted the new tree. The new tree was staked and secured. Nic explained the watering schedule i needed to follow and then the team cleaned up the area. I highly recommend Moon Valley Nursery in Brentwood! Great team and Great value! read more

I was excited to receive a discount mailer even after speaking with one of their employees which was not the individual advertised to service a particular region in Northern California. Everything went south from there and I believe this review should alert potential customers. For me this turned out to be a humiliating experience. After selecting and confirming an appointment date for a free estimate; I was stood up. This business is clearly focused on their specialty...trees and it made me believe if you're a novice gardener (as I am) one could get assistance in creating a beautiful garden with professional assistance. Unfortunately even though their ad was in my mailbox, my home is too far from their business to get a website advertised free consultation unless I commit in advance to spend at least $3000 with them. Otherwise it is $200 for the opportunity to get a free consultation. Money back if I spend 3 grand. I may have misread the small print. I believe Crockett is closer to Brentwood than Richmond is. As the car flies. And they service Richmond. They do have good customer service. You will get a call to tell you there is no free consultation unless you live within 20 miles of Brentwood CA. Just got a Plum and a Pomegranate tree planted in by these guys and I totally recommend! They sell huge trees that will fruit pretty quickly and work very professionally. Walked in did a purchase within an hour and then got the trees delivered and planted for me within a week or two. Super easy super clean process. Moon Valley had more than a dozen of them to pick from as well as a huge selection of species in a variety of sizes. My wife and I were drawn to them because of their 1-year tree protection plan and because they plant the tree for you. We wanted to make sure our investment in the tree is protected and that the tree flourishes. I'm confident that Moon Valley will be our partner in achieving that. The install went amazingly well. Delivery and planting schedule were clearly and professionally communicated. The end product exceeded my expectations. My two sons and I were out and about running errands. As we drove by The Valley of the Moon nursery, we noticed pumpkins and decided to stop in. We wanted to see if we could buy a few pumpkins off of them. They ended up giving us pumpkins instead. The guys here are so helpful and courteous. They helped my boys pick out pumpkins and helped us to our car. We plan on getting our landscaping redone in the near future and will definitely be using them.
