Crazy!!!!! I just had one of those Christmas morning feelings and it's June! While we were out doing maintenance on our lawn, which we are meticulous about, a Moon Valley truck that was in the neighborhood stopped by and approached my husband. The regional arborist for Moon Valley Nick Debs was driving around checking on the health of some clients recently planted trees when he noticed our "charlie brown tree". He recognized it as one of Moon Valleys which we had planted three years ago along with a package of other trees and shrubs. For some Reason this tree just never took off. We knew our lot was all true hard calici just beneath the surface but this Monterey oak just won't grow much less thrive like our other plants. So back to Christmas morning -Nick grabs his 20/20/20 super food wand that remind me of a ghost buster tool and directly inserts it around our trees as a seven course meal for not just the Charlie Brown tree but ALL our trees. Of course I took the time to receive some excellent wisdom from an arborist to understand what we needed to do to elevate our tall green friends to the next level. We were really almost speechless with this gift and I actually prayed a prayer of thanksgiving for sending someone who actually cared about trees. As if all that wasn't enough neighborly love, he handed us some fertilizer to continue a regimen to help with the health of all our trees. The good kind from Moon Valley with all the rich minerals and organic material that makes plants happy! I felt like when my kids who had been sad we were leaving Disneyworld were surprised with a "Magic Moment" by one of the bakers near the exit to the park. Totally unexpected. Totally appreciated. Totally exceptional! Thank you specifically to Nick Debs with Moon Valley who reminded me there is true knowledge and compassion behind the company with the big trees. Say what you might about the price tag on the super Giant trees but it takes a lot of wisdom, time in years and a super green thumb to grow trees that big. We decided to get some trees and other plants from moon valley. They are right off the highway and easy to locate. We came in search of three trees to create some privacy between us in a newly built house behind us. Upon arriving, we were greeted quickly and shown around... But we were only shown the large and very pricey trees. After leaving with not purchasing anything, we called and figured out that they do have some smaller more affordable trees that look extremely healthy. You have to ask about this as it is not told to you when you are there. They will try to sell you the bigger ones, I'm not sure if they are commission based. So we scheduled a planting service with some of the smaller trees that look great, we also opted for the extended coverage for them. They did have to schedule it about a month or so out because they are busy, which was fine for us. They kept the trees on site and continued to water and care for them. A couple days before planting, we went in and decided we wanted a couple of shrubs. We brought them home and were told that they could plant them with the trees. I made sure to ask the sales person to add this to the work order, but he did not. Upon arriving, they had no idea that they were also planting two other shrubs, but they had no problem getting those taken care of for us. The work lead was extremely kind and insured that everything was how we wanted it before leaving. Onto the next service we had from Moon Valley, we requested soil injections for some of our other trees (not trees from them) that we needed to give a little extra nutrients to. Josh Hutfilz with MVP Pro Care came out and was extremely helpful. I even asked him about a couple other shrubs on our property and what we can do to make them have optimal health, he gave such great tips and suggestions on what to do. He took his time and made sure that I felt good about the service and any questions. He also let me know that I could reach out if anything else comes up that I just have questions about. It's a peace of mind, knowing that there are genuine people in companies that want to help! I'd highly recommend him for your pro care services. read more

Very deceptive "nursery" and the most overpriced trees you will ever buy. I received a flyer in the mail and it sounded okay (three trees plant for $1,500). Supposedly this was 50% off. When I arrived, I had just locked my car when a salesperson was already right up on me pushing me to buy. I simply asked if I could first walk around and see what they have to offer. As I did walk around, I found some trees that I did want and went back to get one of the sales people. I told them I was interested in the three for $1,500 and showed them the ones I wanted. But the salesperson said the ones I was looking at were not included in that offer. He took me to another part of the nursery (of course it was all the way in the back) and showed me what I could get with that offer. Essentially, each tree would be $500 and the trees he showed me... you can get the EXACT same trees at Home Depot for $37. And again, this was supposed to be 50% off!? So, they are selling these trees for $1,000? Again, you can buy the same trees at Home Depot for a fraction. I know this because I went to Home Depot after this and that is where I found the same trees. It's like a bait & switch; you walk in and there are all these giant, beautiful trees and when you decide, then they take you to the little trees that you could buy from a local hardware store nursery. And the part about they will plant it for you? But until you are there, they don't tell you about the delivery charge. Funny... that isn't on the flyer. And they will plant it? The trees are so small for that "special" they are running, you could dig the hole yourself. I have no doubt that for the larger trees they do sell, if they run into rock (pretty common here) there is likely an upcharge. There are plenty of nurseries in town and even some not so far away (Marble Falls) where you can find better trees for a fraction of their prices. Very unscrupulous and they are just trying to sell you something incredibly overpriced. Avoid. read more

We started working with Moon Valley Nursery in Dripping Springs in 2024, investing in the installation of nearly 30 trees to help establish privacy in our backyard. While the initial planting went well, we encountered some issues down the line when several trees began to show signs of distress. Despite multiple follow-ups on our part before the warranty expired, no one came by to assess the trees -- and once the warranty had lapsed, we were told that replacements wouldn't be covered. At the time, it was deeply frustrating and disappointing given the scale of our investment. However, I'm so pleased to share that Moon Valley Nursery didn't let our concerns go unheard. Ariel Fitch, a representative who had supported us from the beginning, personally reached out, apologized for the experience, and quickly identified that a newer employee (unfamiliar with our history) had made decisions without the full context. Thanks to Ariel's leadership and commitment to excellent service, everything was resolved swiftly -- we received our replacement trees and even added a few more to complete our backyard vision. To our surprise and delight, we were also contacted by a Customer Care Manager following the resolution, just to ensure everything was taken care of and that we were fully satisfied. That level of proactive follow-up shows Moon Valley's true colors -- this is a company that values long-term relationships, not just transactions. Their commitment to service recovery, transparency, and community care is exactly what earns customer loyalty. We are incredibly grateful and now even more confident in our decision to work with Moon Valley. This is the "used car shopping experience" of plants. The trees and scrubs are marked very high and "on sale" for 1/3 to 1/2 off, making the final price in line or above the competition. I went there thinking I would pick up a few plants to complete a project in my yard. I was met with two young, inexperience girls that offered to help. One claimed to be a landscape designer. Why they were nice and courteous, they never really asked relevant questions like: What is soil like where you are planting? How much sun does the spot get? morning or afternoon sun? The plant selection is vast, which was a plus but the pricing was a bit confusing. I needed to get some additional plants to finish my project and decided to stop by Wimberley Gardens, which was closer to me, however I thought would be more expensive. To my surprise, Wimberley Gardens was much cheaper, had a good selection and the staff was well informed, helpful and able to guide us in our selection. I suspect this may not be posted and I also suspect most of the ratings for this business are "planted" by members of family or employees. read more

I can't recommend Moon Valley Nurseries highly enough! From the moment we first pulled into the nursery, we were taken aback by the gigantic, beautiful trees in front. Jamie greeted us right away and has been such a joy to work with, from our first project to now our third. Privacy was our main goal, and Jamie and the Barron (the manager) came out multiple times to ensure that we had a plan for our Carolina cherries and red-tip photinias. From the dig crew, to the planting crew, everyone we worked with was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to make us happy... the end result was beautiful! Since then, Jamie has helped us with hollies, and is currently working on our bushes and planters. Her knowledge on trees, planting, and design are truly unparalleled. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! Moon Valley Nurseries They will promise you the most amazing products and service and somehow deliver below the most basic level of standard. Garden design - no, service - no, communication- no, bare minimum response time - absolutely not! We have continuously attempted to communicate with them over a 6 week period of time and the only time we have been able to receive a response is when we drive the 22 miles to the nursery in the hopes of meeting with someone who could/would assist us. On our last visit we met with the GM and subsequent to our visit, we were ghosted by him as well. Apparently 5k in plants and services will only get you lip service. We have photos, text, emails and voicemails. Save yourself the time, effort and stress of dealing with these people. read more

When Regina and I moved to Belterra our quarter acre was a blank canvas. We met Barron and began work on our design. Barron is a veteran of the military as am I. He has great communication skills and very knowledgeable. The photos represent the last 2 years. We've put in a dozen Leland Cypress, Carolina Blueberry, Apple, pomegranate, Monterey Oak, forest pansy, fig, apricot, peach and plum trees. We've lost a few from snow and ice storms. My experience is a bit different than most as we originally bought two Monterey Oaks from Moon Valley almost 3 years ago. While we were initially happy with our purchase, the trees did not thrive. After about a year, I called and had the arborist come out. He said they were just slow to root and be patient. After another year and the trees still not growing I called an arborist from another company who said the trees were never going to do well and likely to die possibly even falling on my house. I immediately reached out to Moon Valley To give them the opportunity to make the Situation right. After being transferred a couple of times I reached the right person. Barron, the general manager at the. South location in dripping Springs and 60 miles From my home, took immediate interest in my issue. I sent him pictures and within an hour He had committed to providing me with two new trees . He scheduled the install for the following Friday. On that morning, I had a medical appointment So I notified the girl that I would not be present. Imagine my surprise when I And two Beautiful new Monterey Oaks In a larger size had been expertly installed . In addition, I will have quarterly inspections by an arborist to ensure the health of the trees. We were looking for some bushes or trees to create a privacy hedge in our yard. We stopped into the Moon Valley yard in Dripping Springs TX about a month ago, and were met by Cameron, who took us on a "tour" of the various trees they had and helped us choose some nice Leyland Cypress trees that would work for our project and our Texas climate. Cameron is very knowledgeable, and came out to our place the following week to help us with placement and determine how many trees we would need. We placed an order for seven trees and scheduled planting a couple of weeks out. Note that Moon Valley requires full payment up front when you place the order. On the scheduled day, Zack and his crew showed up on time, and got to work quickly. Zack is very friendly and answered all of our questions and gave us tips on tree care. The crew was also amazing as they hand-dug holes and planted all seven trees in just a couple of hours. They staked everything, added some mulch and fertilizer before they left. It was a smooth process to work with the folks at Moon Valley, everyone was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly from start to finish. We purchased the one-year warranty, and we'll see how the new trees fare in the coming years. Highly recommend these folks if you're in the market for trees/bushes. read more

as we tossed in "what ifs" and Jay gave us pros, cons, and recommendations. And he came up with the best ideas for us. Some of the trees we bought were more than a decade old, grown in HUGE pots. Regardless of age, all their plants came in their pots. The advantage is they don't uproot the trees from a field, but instead take them out of the pot/planter seconds before the tree is planted. With the rootball intact, the trees have a much better chance to survive and thrive. Today came out to plant. Jay came out. Also I had the pleasure of meeting the crew led by three gentlemen: Zack, Cory, and Derek. These four and the entire crew they brought were wonderful. I love how they worked as a team, seamlessly, to serve us. The trees came in fantastic condition, and the entire crew were super careful about everything : utilities, our view, and our comfort. I highly recommend Moon Valley Nursery, but especially these folks I named who are just top notch. I also recommend buying Moon Juice, their propriety plant nutrient for your yard. read more
