Well, today we had our trees planted by Moon Nursery. First I got a text saying they would be out at our home between 7-9am. They showed up at 7:45. Awesome! Sean and James came out with the guys that dug the holes and planted the trees. Sean gave us another text saying they would be here by a certain time. Another positive! I love when you get the text that says we will be there in 20 min. Sean and James were just amazing! They gave us some great ideas about where to plant some more trees and we will definitely be looking into that. While they were planting I went around the home with James getting ideas for our home. I was telling him how when the builders landscapers planted our bushes and flowers that they didn't center a plant up against our house. Well, later on James must of moved it and planted it in the center! I was sooooo thrilled because I have been meaning to replant it but he did it while he was at the house. Thank you soooooo much James. That means the world to me. After they were finished planting the 3 giants and the 5 smaller cypress trees, we chatted with Sean and James for a while. They were so great and their guys who planted them were super nice too! We love Moon Nursery! They really take care of you. We even had them do trees when we lived in California. They were great too! Totally going to buy all our plants from them from now on! Super guys and super company. And a special thank you to Steven for getting this all set up to buy these trees. He was great to work with. First time with Moon Vally nursery. They came and planted my tree in November 2025 and everything appeared fine. I did call them back in October about my concern for the color of some of the leaves. Letting them know then that I followed their instructions to the letter. They said to continue to monitor. Well winter came. They guarantee for 1 year. November came and it looked the same. No changes. Then winter came. Spring started late this year 2026, so I was hoping that it would start budding, but nothing happened. I submitted a consultation to see about my concern of no budding and no leaves. It's April now and still no budding or contact from them. So disappointed... it was a costly waste of money. I planted a baby tree on my own and that one is flourishing. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this company as a whole. From the sales rep, quality assurance team to the "Manager". You will get NO WHERE! They are not responsive and do not honor their service warranty. Be careful what you "sign". Don't buy their mulch,or pay for additional services because they will say that is not part of their agreement although we were charged for it..... We paid for a flower bed clean out and they literally dumped the mulch and plants on top of the existing flower bed. When you get a response its full of hot air and goes no where. Run to another place of business do not stop at Moon Valley unless you want to throw away money and get fed a lot of excuses....... read more

I'll be honest we almost drove out of here 2 minutes after we drove in but we're glad we stayed. This is the first time we're investing in our yard aesthetics and trying to do things the right way and didn't know who what when where or how. We met Steven shortly after we got there and he made a very intimidating place & process actually kinda fun. We had water, drove around on the gator, looked at alllllll the options, learned a lot. I really feel like Steven listened to what we wanted & needed and found the perfect fit in our budget. Everyone there is so nice and knowledgeable. We never felt pressured or forced into anything. So I guess we'll check back in a couple months and see if we're able to feel these beautiful trees alive. We hope to go back next weekend and tackle our flower bed area. Updated Sep 12, 2025 (final) Read the contract. Get a rider in writing. Purchased a substantial Mediterranean fan palm (San Antonio). During delivery (Jul 9) my front step was chipped. After slow responses, action picked up only after I escalated through AmEx; a repair was attempted mid-August. The patch removed the trip edge but left a visible gray spot on a beige slab (photo attached)--mediocre at best. A district manager told me "MV isn't contractually responsible for damages," which matches the contract language. I planned a larger follow-on purchase contingent on binding liability coverage (rider or COI with endorsements). On Sep 12, MV declined to provide binding documentation. No compensation was offered, no discount terms were delivered, and the step remains subpar. I'm not proceeding and have reopened a partial AmEx dispute to recover the reasonable cost to properly remediate the step. Advice for buyers: - Get a rider that overrides the "not responsible for damage" clause, with simple timelines. - Ask for a COI naming you Additional Insured (Primary & Non-Contributory; Waiver of Subrogation). - Do a pre-install site walk (route, spotter over hardscape, pre/post photos; price a crane if recommended). - If a goodwill discount is offered, get it in writing. The trees were strong and several local staff were professional. My issue is corporate: heavy on marketing; light on binding commitments. read more

We are very much pleased with the planting(s) yesterday on our property . For the last two days I've rarely encountered such a friendly and professional team of hard working and good men. The first day was spent digging where one of the holes encountered a huge boulder which required about 4 hours of jackhammers and shovel work. The next day was planting and of the five plantings one was a huge olive tree that required all five men to get it to the correct location and plant it. The results are wonderful ...they cleaned up excess dirt and rocks leaving my property in excellent condition. Very much highly recommended. Kudos to Frank and Tony. read more

I went in, showed a photo of the area I needed landscape and he recommended Sunshine Ligustrum bushes. I asked if they were toxic to dogs and he said no. In fact, they are! After the initial quote of $4k, 6 bushes installed, I thought I was buying a used car. Then he went down to $2100. I left quickly. Moon peeps- get your act together. Unless you don't care about where/how you spend $, then this place is for you. If this place continues to operate like this, I can't see them in business too long. read more

They sold me Purple Fountain Grass telling me they would grow back fuller but they all died. I thought they would come back this year and they never will, not knowing (nor did they tell me) they die in the winter. Wast of money will not be back. All their cards sent for free fertilizer (with a purchase of $50) will go right into the trash. Jason helped us when we got to the nursery. He answered all our questions when we asked him about some tree options. He was clearly very knowledgeable. While we initially wanted to go with a Monterrey Oak, we decided to hold off because it was quite pricey. Instead, we went with some crepe Myrtle's to pant along our fence line. They offered to load the statue in my car, or help arrange delivery if it didn't end up fitting (it did fit in the car perfectly ). The dinosaur was a great value since it was on sale and it looks great in my backyard. We can't say enough about this company. We did suddenly lose one of our Carolina cherry trees recently. An appointment was made to pick a new tree, under warranty, and a planting date was set. Sean, the head planter, is amazing. they were finished by the time I was able to get outside to them. He checked all the other trees for the cause which killed the replaced tree and made sure everything was the same as they found it. Disappointed and Deceived -- Poor Communication and Unprofessional Service We recently visited this business to purchase two trees, flowers, and shrubs, spending nearly $5,000. As retirees, we were offered what was presented as a good deal, and we scheduled the job for completion next month. Everything seemed fine until the flagging process, when we were suddenly informed that 15 shrubs had been removed from our order. The reason? The manager couldn't provide a total price that included them -- something we were never told at the counter. During our initial conversation, Jon reviewed the total and confirmed everything we wanted. At no point did anyone say the shrubs couldn't be included or that a separate purchase would be needed. This lack of transparency is both disappointing and unprofessional. I feel completely misled. Had we known the shrubs weren't included, we would have made different decisions from the beginning. Now we're being told we need to make an entirely new purchase for something we thought we had already paid for. We will not be returning, and we absolutely will not recommend this business to anyone else. We'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more
