All the workers here need customer service training, they are beyond rude. I won't be coming here anymore. I'd wanted to make this my normal shop, but my last experience there was horrific and while this happened a few weeks ago, I didn't feel good leaving without a warning to other potential customers. One of the employees who helped me was very, very rude. He disrespected my personal collection, consistently interrupted my friend whenever he spoke, and even made fun of the cards I was buying from the shops own inventory. While making a trade, I'd informed him the binder he was looking at was my personal collection, which he simply said "I don't care," and proceeded to look. The entire experience felt very hostile, and is the one to make me realize I need to fight more if I want to feel satisfied in this hobby. I'm sure my discomfort was written on my face, and I'd tried to chop up this employees behavior to dry or sarcastic humor, but it got to a point where it was simply straight up disrespectful. That said, I can appreciate the shops stocking and overall organization. It's nicely constructed on the inside, but that employee really needs to understand how to have pleasant conversations with CUSTOMERS. read more

Prerelease Event Management Needs Improvement I want to preface this by saying I'm not a regular card game player nor a frequent customer of this shop. This review is not about their sales or general service -- it's strictly about my experience attending two prerelease events. I enjoy prereleases because they're a great entry point for people who don't play Magic: The Gathering regularly: you open your kit, build a deck, and jump in. Unfortunately, my experience at this location was inconsistent. Pros * The players and staff were friendly * Clean store with a restroom in the back Cons * Start times are inconsistent or poorly communicated * No online registration, which makes attendance unpredictable * One event was canceled due to low turnout My Experience For the Friday event, the official Wizards of the Coast site listed a 6:00 PM start time. When I called around 5:10 PM, I was told I should arrive as soon as possible because things were already getting underway. It turns out 6:00 PM was the gameplay start, not the deck-building window. Despite the confusion, six players showed up and we were able to run the event. Because I struggled in the first event, I decided to try again on Sunday. The WOTC site listed a 2:00 PM start, so I arrived at 1:00 PM to be safe. When I got there, I was told attendance "should be enough," but regulars usually show up late. I bought my kit and built my deck, but ultimately only one other player arrived, and the event was canceled. The store refunded $5 and provided two small promo packs, which I appreciated, but it didn't make up for the wasted time and uncertainty. Suggestions for Improvement * Offer online preregistration so players know whether the event will fire * Keep an updated website or social media page to communicate event status or attendance expectations * When WOTC lists a check-in window, be consistent and clear about what those times mean (deck-building vs. gameplay) read more

Never one to leave a review bad or good, but only reason this isn't getting a one star is because Li, the owner is so helpful and the only one at the shop I recommend doing business with. The plus-sized hairy dude (don't know name) was rude and uninviting and I didn't feel welcomed or comfortable buying or selling any cards there. Unnecessary hostility is definitely the reason I won't be making a return, hope the owner cracks down on this staff and understands how bad staff is no good for his business. read more

2 complaints. Goers please go with some knowledge on what the market is on card you're searching for. The owner tried to charge me the price of a recent sale instead of the actual market price. To be specific the card value was 38 and he tried his best to charge me 80. Absolutely unfair to newcomers into the hobby or anyone at all. Please do better. Last complaint. The owner again supposedly cracked open a PSA 9 shinning mew (JP) and still had the audacity to do two things. First he was asking for the PSA 9 price on a raw card which is disgusting to do. Secondly to anyone asking about said card he would mention that he doesn't know yet if they would resend to grade which in my head had me questioning why it's out in the public eye then!? Definitely come prepared or you will get played. read more

You can tell they truly care about creating a safe fun and exciting environment for young collectors. Their selection is always top tier. They consistently have the best sealed products amazing slabs and a wide variety of cards for every type of collector. Everything is organized clean and fairly priced. You can tell they take pride in what they do. What really sets Moon Cards apart are their events. Pokémon nights trade days tournaments and more. These events are not just about cards they are about community. You walk in as a customer and before long you find yourself talking trading laughing and building friendships that feel like a real family bond. It is a feeling you do not find everywhere. The atmosphere is fun energetic and welcoming. The shop itself is just a badass place to hang out and easily one of the coolest card shops in the area. If you are into Pokémon collecting trading or simply want a place where you and your kids can enjoy a great hobby with great people Moon Cards is the spot. Horrible customer service from Alvin. Every time we have gone in he tries to lowball the offers on cards without actually checking the TCG prices. Don't go in there asking too many questions because he will just point to the whiteboard and say the info is on there - even though the whiteboard says "ask". Seems like it's an inconvenience for him to help out a customer. I understand it's a business, but make your money with less of an attitude. He is always very dismissive and abrupt with his communication. I wonder if the owner is even aware of how he acts when he's not around. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere simply because I want better service. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

First things first, the workers here always greet you when you walk in and are very helpful when searching for anything. The selection of cards and collectibles are top notch. If you have questions they are always kind and helpful when answering any questions. Lots of returning customers just from the aura you get in the shop with said other customers. Very friendly. They stay up to date with prices on selections and don't try to fool you with anything. Been coming here for a couple months and glad I found a local shop to support. read more
