I usually come here for discounted Warhammer 40k minis (they've got a pretty robust selection), but on this particular visit, I was looking for Pokemon cards for my partner's Toxel & Toxtricity binder. The fellow at the counter was SO PATIENT as I asked him to dig through all their bulk. I came with an ordered list to make his search as easy as possible, but the cards are spread out across 10 different expansions, so he did have to do quite a bit of digging. At no point did he seem frustrated, even though there were other customers waiting to be helped. We ended up striking 8 cards off our list, which was more than I expected! One the largest board games and TCG shops I've been too. Super cool spot to just hang out and relax, while also enjoying some games. The staff, you can tell, are very knowledgable and are focused on providing answers based on what you ask. The spot is really Warhammer focused - but also has a lot of TCG and even hosts TCG days. Great shop for finding board games, card games, or miniature game. They have a huge playing space and run events. Now that they're settled into their new space, the crowds on weekends are very manageable. They have two bathrooms, like a dozen game tables, and a huge stock of games. There are several staff around so you rarely have to wait to check out, and they sometimes walk around offering support as you browse the store. They also have a solid supply of paints for reasonable prices. They also have discounts on a lot of their products. But really, they have one of the biggest board game collections around! read more

I've been a long time customer of Shuffle and Cut and it's great to finally see it's outgrown its charmingly small shop in the industrial area. The new location is right next to Brea Mall but doesn't have the same kind of busy traffic, which is a plus. There's also a great coffee shop in the same plaza called Communitea Coffee that's perfect for a sweet treat before or after visiting. Though other reviews say that the employees are unenthusiastic and unhelpful, my experiences across several years have always been positive. The service is great. Though the guys aren't beaming and chipper all the time, as an introvert with social anxiety I appreciate their more laidback and casual customer service. They don't rush or bother you, and they've gone above and beyond for me on multiple occasions searching for an elusive card in their bulk even if they could have just told me they didn't have it. With some other shops doing some shady business practices (weighing cards, scanning for holos), it's become a bit difficult to find an honorable business. But for Pokémon at least, I've had some of my best hits from the loose booster packs and ETBs here! It's really great to have a nice local hobby shop like Shuffle and Cut! read more

Very unfortunate because I never even write reviews but the customer service today was trash. I am trying to get a bunch of cards of one specific Pokemon. The first time I went there it was no problem the guy showed me every card of that Pokemon he had. Today when I returned it was a different group of dudes and they were very unhelpful. They told me that they wouldn't show me the cards unless I specifically told them which set. After explaining that I legit just wanted to see what cards they had they refused and were very off putting. Today was my first day at the store and I was thoroughly impressed. The store has a huge selection of table top games, and also has a lot of products for dungeons and dragons as well as warhammer. Use to love coming to this place but today is the last day I will be doing any shopping there. Received a quote on 11/12/2025 for a very expensive card they are going to purchase from me. Two employees verified that they would give me a certain dollar amount. My wife brought the card to them today and was low balled for $100 dollars less than what was originally offered. She was told both employees gave us the wrong number. It's risky to take any card like that from one location to another. Why are we having employees provide pricing on cards if it's not even accurate? I completely understand if there was a defect in the card after inspection but that was not the case here. This new price was given AFTER they had already put their hands on my card, which adds risk of devaluing the card, and then proceeded to tell her she was given the wrong price. You should not allow your employees to directly lie to a customer's face and then try to say the market has changed when it has not. Edit: Despite the inaccurate response on events from the owner, I am revising my review to three stars based on my experience with the employees there. Despite management willing to throw away a good customer, I want to put emphasis that several of the employees are always super helpful and cool. Short hair guy with glasses that loves Final Fantasy has always been polite and awesome anytime I have seen them at the store. Honestly, this is the worst shop in the area. Not sure if they are cold to everyone or just the game I play, yugioh. Every time I come here, they take wayyyyy too long to assist customers, typically put their individual work before customers, and if they are running a tournament, they won't even help customers coming in to buy product. And it's true, they always act like the customer is annoying them. Several times I have called to ask about a specific card only to wait forever, and rarely will they have the card. And if there is a tournament going on, they will literally say they can't look up anything during the tournament because they are busy. Also, at least for yugioh, their tournaments suck. I was told the day and time of the event. The day of, I was running a few minutes behind. I called to let them know I would be about 10 minutes late, and to see if that was ok. They said and I quote, "nobody is here to play but you can come down just in case." Keep in mind, it's like a thirty minute drive to come for a just in case type of tournament. My husband and I have come to this shop plenty of times since they have expanded. The shop is large, clean, and very well organized. They have sooo many single cards and packs to shop from which is a huge plus and the prices are decent. We are also ALWAYS greeted when we walk into the store- not every card store does this so it's appreciated! Unfortunately, the customer service in other aspects has gone down. My husband and I are completely understanding that the store can get busy and overwhelming (we both work in retail) so we try and be as patient as possible but I've literally had employees tell us they are too busy to grab our singles and they need to help other people first. Again, I totally get it but it's all about the tone of your voice in getting the message across. There was one day I came in with my husband and his friends. An employee in a dodger shirt (I think his name is Paul) was already looking into singles for one of our friends so I also waited in the same line hoping to do the same. I told the employee that I'm ok with waiting if he wanted to grab the singles first since I wanted some as well to which he responded with something along the lines of "sorry, I'm only supposed to ring up people and I can't pull singles" as he was literally about to pull singles!!! Like HUH?! So I went to the other cashiers to wait even longer because they were already busy with other customers. And then even though he claimed he was a cashier, he still walked around the counter pulling singles for other people so how come he couldn't help me?? Honestly, it made me really upset and because of his actions, I find it hard to want to come back to Shuffle and Cut when I know there's other card shops out there with elevated customer service. read more

I have been coming here for a few years now. Before they were great: great customer service, chill guys working there, and a great selection of products. Lately, however, they haven't been so great. I have recently retired from TCGs and was looking to sell my cards. I went there a few months ago to sell my bulk collection, and a tall guy with the baratone voice made me feel a little unwelcomed, but he processed my cards anyway. At the time I decided to keep my two Commander decks so me and my fiancé could play together, but recent financial struggles have convinced us both to sell all my cards and so we went back. This most recent visit was the final straw. I walk in and there is quite a lot of customers there. One young worker in a baseball cap and jacket was at one of the registers selling a set of dice to one customer who cut in line ahead of me. After the sale, I walk up and the worker said he already clocked out. I asked him who else I can talk to to sell my two decks, and he said "we don't buy cards at the last half hour." I checked my phone and it was 9:32 pm (they close at 10 pm), so I joked and said "welp. Two minutes too late." With a straight face, he says "Half hour too late. We don't buy cards in the last half hour, unless it's ten cards or less." I can feel my fiancé getting a little upset at how rude he was, so I thanked him and walked away to explored the store. I remembered then that I had a few valuable mythics, including a Great Henge, among the collection, and remembered when he said "...unless it's 10 cards or less." I then began to pull out all the mythics in two decks (about 7 mythics), so I could sell them and take my fiancé out for a nice late-night date, and that same worker came to me and reminded me that they don't buy in the last half hour. I reminded him "you said unless it's 10 cards or less," but he then rambled on about the same rule. He suggested I come on Monday between 12 or 1 pm. The problem is I work now and I want to settle down and start a family with my fiancé, so that's a time I can't make on any day. I walked out of the store with my cards, and will probably never return. I wish these guys luck, but I really miss the friendly and chill guys who worked there years ago. These recent guys are so rude and make the experience too uncomfortable to shop in. read more

I often come in to trade my old cards in for cash as I am trying to downsize my collection. The guys working the counter are always chill and relaxed, and are honest in their buyout prices in my opinion. The store is almost constantly busy, and it's not uncommon they serve customers on a first come first serve basis, so if some dude is buying all 100 singles for his commander deck, you'll need patience. They always acknowledge you though so it's not like they ignore you. I've seen accusations on pack re-sealing, but it seems like BS. I've bought several packs of Pokemon from them and gotten both the Paldea Fates Charizard and the Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard from 151. My pulls are pretty decent here. I think people forget MtG and Pokémon are a gamble. read more
