Nice, quaint lounge meets potential speakeasy vibes found here! MLL has it all-- great cocktails, great service, and a great beverage menu with specials sprinkled in. The hubs and I enjoy cozying up to the bar, but there are plenty of couches and cozy spots for groups in the lounge. All in all it's a nice meet-up spot in downtown Fuquay. Cheers! read more

I love that Varina now has a classy cocktail lounge, just something that's a bit more upscale than Aviator and the Brick. The cozy couches, glowing moon and other decor, as well as all the dark paint make it very intimate and great to take a date here. They have a huge selection of bourbons and the prices are okay...there should be a bit of a discount for double pours but there is not. So I'm less likely to try bourbons here versus some of my other favorite lounges which do double pours for way less. Drinks are not overpriced either. I usually get an old-fashioned or something along those lines. They have a banana bread one that is a bit weird, not my favorite. They used to have a manager there who made baconated bourbon, he rendered bacon fat into it somehow, and they had this bacon whiskey cocktail and it was amazing. It was the best thing on the menu and almost always sold out. I was told that manager left along with the secret of the bacon whiskey so we're likely to not see it again. Bartenders could use some customer service training. They don't greet you. They don't acknowledge that they see you waiting. They pretty much ignore you until they have time for you which is behavior I don't really like. They seem to have more of an attitude of "I'll get to you when I can on my terms and then you'll tip me $2/drink because I'm an awesome cocktail lounge bartender and entitled to tips." Just looking at someone and saying, "I'll be with you in a moment" goes a really long way. I gave this establishment 4 stars but please understand I'm rating in regards to Fuquay...anywhere else this would be about 3 stars. read more

Downtown Varina has a cocktail bar now. My husband and I stopped in to try a few drinks and we tried the below: Round 1 - Gin & Jam and About Thyme Round 2 - Banana Bread Old Fashioned and Cherry Amaretto Sour Round 3 - a glass of rose for me My favorite was the Banana Bread Old Fashioned, the Gin & Jam was too strong with the navy strength gin. If you do not want a cocktail they have other options available. I can't wait to try more cocktails as their menu changes over time. read more

First timer. In my opinion, just a great overall atmosphere because the bar is welcoming and there are lounge areas for couples as well as couches and tables for larger groups. The service was excellent and while I stuck to just bourbon there are definitely a lot of unique cocktails to try too. I will definitely be back. read more

I want to like this place since it could be a great addition to downtown Varina but they have some work to do. Love the black walls and ceiling, love the glowing full moon on the wall that you can see when you come in. But the drinks weren't great. My white sangria tasted like it was mixed in the same pitcher as the spicy margarita and the key lime martini had way too much lime rind on it. Based on the name and the decor, I was thinking speak easy, chill vibe but no, with the loud thumping music and the tv's above the bar, I'm not sure what vibe they're going for. We'll try again in a few weeks and see if it gets better. read more

My husband and I stopped in tonight to check out the newest lounge in town, and we're so glad we did! We found 2 spots open at the bar which were the last of probably only 6 open spots in the whole place. It was lively! Felt like we were in DT Raleigh but only 12 minutes away from home. service was quick, drinks were hand crafted and overall a fun atmosphere. We will be back and spread the word! Giving a 4 because cocktails are superb. However, they play dance club music a little too loud for nice intimate conservation. It's a liquor lounge, no night club vibe is needed or necessary. Some bartenders can be less than people oriented- some do better. Overall worth a stop! read more

Friday evening ambiance was spectacular!! Great atmosphere and great drinks!!! This cocktail bar is exactly what Fuquay has needed to make it a "dash more". We got the Gin and Jam, 9/10, Something about Mary, 9/10 and Key Lime Pie, 11/10. The bartenders were great and fast! We will be back very very soon! The patrons were great and friendly. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Had two bartenders on a Friday night, waited 30 minutes in a line before two seats opened. Proceeded to wait another 20 minutes just for the bartender to continue serving the folks in line, after she had clearly seen us waiting. Extremely disappointed with the service (or lack of) and attitude of one of the bartenders. Felt bad for the large groups who walked in after us. read more
