Walking in everyone was so friendly and reminded me of one of the Chinese restaurants I used to go to in nyc. We've lived in area for 18 years and can't believe we had never found and tried this business. Was pleasantly surprised as we walked in to see this Chinese restaurant is not like other fast food ones we have eaten at. The decor is much nicer with an appealing dining area where they offer table service. At same time you can order at counter for take-out or order on-line for pick up. We choose to sit down and be waited on. We were greeted immediately with our soft drink desire taken and menus delivered. I ordered Egg Drop Soup to start and Chicken Chow Mein and my wife ordered Pepper Steak with Onion combo. The soup which came with crunchie noodles was flavorful with nice amount of onion chive and egg floating. My chow mein was good and the small plate order was more than enough. The steak combo came with fried rice and eg roll. My wife enjoyed her meal and the egg role was the best we have experienced. To elevate the dining experience there is red pepper sauce and duck sauce on each table if you care for it. The waitress taking care of entire dining room is the wife of establishment. She took care of five tables like clock work never missing a beat. The chef/husband was out and spoke with each table and later came out with complimentary dessert donuts for each table. This husband and wife team work very hard to insure customers are pleased. We really are sad that this place has not been on our radar sooner. read more

I have eaten here twice. First time.. it was an easy 5 stars... possibly the best Chinese take out ever.... The second time... they disappointed me with a 3. The 5 was because they had very home cooked, well seasoned, tasty sauces. The second time, tasted more like pre-made, frozen/ reheated,... Chinese. They were super friendly both times. Came to pick up an order of chicken wings with shrimp lo mein, one gatorade & a can of sunkist. for 27 dollars i was expecting a decent portion of lo mein. Quality of the food is not the best either. For 27 dollars i could get two plates of what i just ordered and with 2 cans of soda any other chinese place! I discovered this wonderful place many years ago and don't go anywhere else any more! My husband and I only eat vegetarian and there is plenty to choose from, but we always get the same thing because it's soooo good. I get the green beans and my husband gets the General Tso's tofu. We never leave with less than 8 vegetable rolls unless I'm just stopping in for a quick bite to go and then I'll grab 2. The owners are genuinely the nicest people I've ever met in a restaurant. Sometime back they had a fire and were closed and we had to venture out somewhere else, and no one else could compare. As soon as they were back open, we were back. We generally get our food to go but we have dined in a few times. This Chinese restaurant have the only in house dining area I'd ever eat in. Although we try not to eat out too often, I could easily eat here once a week or more! read more

Just tried this place for the first time and I was very impressed by how good the food was. I got two beef entrees, the beef lo mien and pepper steak. Both were very tasty and the beef seemed to be a higher grade than most Chinese places I've eaten at. I dined in and they offer full table service. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the owner stopped by tables asking how folks were enjoying their meals. This is going to be my new go-to for excellent Chinese. read more

I had high hopes after hearing this was good Chinese take-out. But it wasn't good. It wasn't terrible, but I won't order again. The General Tso's was mushy and had zero spice. The fried rice was really eggy. The Mongolian beef was probably the best of the bunch, but it didn't have much flavor. The lo mein had a funny flavor. The egg drop soup was under seasoned, but was basically okay. Overall, I get better Chinese food mall food courts. Service was friendly and quick, but I won't be back. read more

We were disappointed in Pitt last carry out experience. We have been there many times, dine in and carry out. This time was carry out. We ordered Moo Goo Gipan and Genera Tsu Chicken. Both with refried rice. The rice was pinkish looking like Mexican rice and it had a strange flavor so we didn't use it after trying it. Moo Goo Gipan was so so OK. General Tsu Chicken wasn't worth eating. It was all breading, not much chicken if any and no flavor. We are assuming China Uno has new ownership. If not something has dramatically changed. read more

We have ordered takeout from China Uno twice and were so happy with our orders. We ordered online and each time our order was ready in 20-25 minutes. The steamed pork dumplings are probably the best we have ever had. The amount of pork in each dumpling is generous and they are oh so delicious! We also ordered the crab Rangoons. Perfectly crispy outside and filling delicious! The chicken wings and the shrimp fried rice were super! We will definitely be back for more takeout!! read more

I could have sworn I have written a review for this place but I don't see it so. . .this is a solid FAST FOOD local American/Chinese restaurant. They tend to heavily sauce all their food so if you are not a fan of that, simply ask them to use half the amount of sauce. That seems to help. They no longer have Egg Foo Young which was my favorite and they did such a delicious job of it. The owners (especially David) makes the place more special than it is. But if you are looking for the usual suspects: sweet and sour chicken, lomein, etc. this place will fit your bill. I would give this place 3.5 if I could. I've eaten here off and on for 7 years and it is consistently mediocre and I don't mean to be insulting about it. This is not stellar cuisine but it's good casual, take-out American/Chinese. read more

Ordered Mei Fun, Shrimp and another Beef.....unless I'm incorrect, it should come with oyster sauce or a curry sauce...neither had any sauce to combine the taste and experience of eating a meal closer to true Chinese taste...no taste, added soy sauce which just makes it salty...should be soupy and curry based...so I can only say poor product...I will have to try others, Chen Garden never disappoints but never ordered Mei Fun, I'm looking for something that taste like the Noodle Bar.. After reading the reviews, we ordered take out. Ordered shrimp fried rice, Chow mein, Rangoon's and egg rolls. We received two free donuts. I liked the rice but there were lots of chunks of onion. The Rangoon's were ok. The chow mein was soaked in sauce. The food was quite heavy and I was thirty from lots of salt. I ordered close to closing time- will return at an earlier time. read more

Our experience at China Uno was great! My mom and I dined in for our first visit and the service was so friendly. We started off with an order of crab rangoon with their homemade duck sauce for dipping. For my meal I ordered the cashew chicken combo with white rice. I ordered the boneless ribs tips and man I was disappointed with the lack of flavor, the meat was dry I did like the sliced meat that they had and the fact that it doesn't get all in your teeth like most boneless spare rib tips it was tender but not juicy I believe if they were to add more sauce the dish would be wonderful read more

We got take out on Saturday night. We read through all of the glowing reviews... the pictures. Everything looked great, but it was all a smokescreen We got a veggie egg roll, wonton soup, general gau chicken combo(fried rice and egg roll), and chicken with mixed veggies. Veggie egg roll- greasy, not even worth eating. I took one bite and it tasted almost sour. Wonton soup - my husband said the noodles tasted like they were in the broth for too long, soggy and very expanded... General gaus- this was what I was most excited for and it was worse than mall Chinese food. It was chewy and gummy. The egg roll was decent, but they didn't give us any sweet or sour sauce so it was dry. The fried rice seemed like it wasn't fresh. Chicken with mixed veggies- there was 90% mixed veggies, but this was the only item we semi enjoyed. Maybe it's because we were spoiled with amazing Chinese food near Boston. I wouldn't order here again. read more
