I have…read moreseen many, many children there throughout my visits and today I went in for my appointment to see a sign posted that kids must be accompanied with an 18 year old adult that is not receiving a service. I have never been made aware of this policy. I panicked and asked the stylist/owner that were there if my kids could stay or if I needed to reschedule. They were condescending and almost shamed me for having brought my children. My three daughters, oldest being 11, were all sitting on the couch with their iPads not making a peep. My daughters were very excited to "go to the salon with mom". Even further, I respect and understand policy. It wasn't WHAT they were saying to me it was HOW they were saying. This was the first time (summer school schedules) that I had brought my children. I will never return to this business, not because of their policy, but how they share/enforce their policies with select clients (discrimination considering I've seen lots of children there in the past), how they made me feel for their lack of communication, and how they speak to people. Tone matters. Body language matters. Expressions matter. Do better.

So I booked my first appointment with Maggie and walked in to the appointment slightly nervous. I've had a bunch of Brazilian waxes over the last couple years but for some reason still was feeling nervous! The first impression of the place was a smallish hole in the wall place but it opened up to a much larger set of rooms with many waxers. The front desk girl greeted me and I was seen quickly by Maggie. Maggie is an absolute gem! Very very nice and welcoming lady who truly seems to enjoy her work. She chatted with me and got to know more about my life which made me feel a lot better about getting waxed again. It had been awhile. I had a very disappointing experience during my recent appointment. The technician arrived 11…read moreminutes late and, to my memory, never introduced herself by name. When I politely asked how much longer it would be, her response was snippy and unprofessional. She even asked, "Why? Do you have somewhere else you need to be?" I explained that I had another appointment and would need to call and push it back. Her only response was an annoyed sigh. I had to decline an originally planned part of my service because the new product (an only option) used has something I'm allergic to in it. Throughout the service, she barely spoke to me and only offered to count down halfway through the wax appointment. It was more painful than usual and felt very rushed. Her overall demeanor made me feel like she was annoyed to be there--or at least annoyed to be working with me. To make matters worse, it has been two days since my appointment and I have not received any follow-up survey, which is usually standard.
