What a disappointment. I spent $140 at this shop getting a pedicure and a fill. My normal nail techs that do my sets normally when I come to town are out of town for the next month due to a wedding in Vietnam . At this point I should have just soaked my nails off , but I didn't I decided to get a fill . As a licensed nail tech from FL I'm beyond upset with the work performed . Originally Jenny took me to do my fill. Amateur isn't even the word of use . For someone that's been doing nails a while she didn't show that in her work . Applying a thin, watery layer of acrylic and over flooding my cuticles was just the start of the issue . I had acrylic all over my fingers and cuticle area. Annoyed with the work being done after repeatedly advising the acrylic that was applied was way to thin for my nail length and the lack of Apex (meaning she flattened my nail when there should be a natural arch) . She also began thinning my stiletto shape and causing a curve when the nail should be straight . I was sent over to Andy for the remainder of my appointment . I thought the issues were being corrected but yet again I was wrong . For those that don't know let me educate you . When acrylic isn't properly applied to THE NAIL and applied to the skin (cuticle area ) it will cause chipping or lifting . Which is what happen to me . After only 3 days my nails began to chip . Mind you my nails were done Saturday. I call Monday to talk to the owner and ask for it to be fixed and to schedule me in to correct the problem. The own advises they do not do appointments to fix nails and to just walk in . When I walked in I could tell everyone recognized me . Not because of my attitude Saturday or because I conducted myself poorly but because they had a lot to say in their native language regarding my frustration of the work being done on me by Jenny . I sit in one of the owners chairs and she's confused as to what the issue is . I advised I just washed my hands so it's hard to see the chipping of the acrylic. Instead of assisting me by drying my cuticle more to see the issue she just rolls her eyes and begins talking in her native language to her husband. Once she's done she asks which nails in an annoyed tone . I begin shower her the issue . After showing her 6 different nails that were chipped at the cuticle she drilled them and then asks if that's better ? I advised I myself am a nail artist and know 100% my nails will lift . She decides to drill around all 10 fingers . Now my nails not only look dusty around my cuticles but now it looks like I need a fill YET AGAIN! At this point I'm PISSED . I asked if she would be adding acrylic to cover the gaps and she said no need . Threw on clear top coat and sent me on my way. I'll NEVER return to this salon and from now on I'm bringing my own nail products to do my own nails when I come here to visit. This might be a okay looking salon but the work is horrible . I'd tell you about my pedicure but I think I've said enough for this place . 0 out of 10 stars for the work 4 out of 10 for how the establishment looks 0 out of 10 for workers attitudes I'd give them a 0 star rating but yelp wouldn't allow such feedback read more

They came out perfect. Only down fall was it was a little pricey for a fill. But I didn't mins because the quality and service was on point. $85 plus $1 use credit card. $86 plus her $5 tip. Never have I ever been so lazy that I've gone without a fill/new set for a whole MONTH, but never have I ever been able to! These nails were thin (personal preference) but strong and held up incredibly well. I am notorious for always breaking a nail but not a single one broke over the course of an entire month. My first time here today on a whim. I had work in Plainfield and I needed a fill that was extremely overdue and a nail fixed that was lifting. So on my break I booked an appointment through their website which was super easy! I chose Henry because of the reviews on here. Several other reviews mentioned other names as well so I'm sure whomever I would've went with would've been great too! I couldn't even get through the color choices there were so many!! But found one I loved and off we went. Henry was very pleasant and professional. He did an AMAZING job on the shape, filing and polish!! As you can tell from my pictures. He made sure to ask me several times if the shape was ok and I loved that!! He made sure I was happy. My nails are beautifully shaped, are all even, and the polish is perfect. This was a 50/50 experience for me. I'm not sure the name of the stylist that did my manicure, but I went in with an idea of a yellow background and a daisy on my ring finger almond shaped nails. The manicurist was pretty rough and cut my fingers several times with the grinder, and the shape kind of falls flat. I can't say much for the color it's brighter than I actually wanted but that is my fault not his. But my pedicurist was AMAZING, I decided to not go with yellow for my toes, but still wanted a daisy on big toe! I was told his name was Terri and I would recommend him all the way! He did so well on the art as well as being kind and best foot massage lol! I will definitely give them another go, but for sure take photos of what you want! read more

I had a dip manicure and a pedicure done on November 25th, 2020 which was my first time visiting Moon salon. In less than a week, the manicure top layer had chipped off, the polish was cracked and broken. The dip was not holding up as a professionally done manicure should. Please see attachment with the darker nail polish color. Because I wanted to give this salon the benefit of the doubt, I went back a second time on December 11, in case the first time had been a fluke. However, my second time was worse than the first. After I left I noticed that one of my nails had a dent in it and had not been done correctly so I had to return to the salon that night to get it fixed. I appreciated that I was worked right in to get that corrected. However, this should not have happened. My schedule is tightly planned and I had to return to Plainfield between other appointments in Brownsburg. Once again by day 3, the top coat had already started to chip. Please see the attached picture with the red nail polish color. These photos were taken 3 days apart. Because I had the same experience from Moon salon two visits in a row, I went to a different salon to get my nails corrected. I contacted the salon requesting a reimbursement for the unprofessional job that was done and no one ever replied. Both times, I set an appointment with Jim, since he seemed to be a nail tech with decent reviews from multiple sites. Even when you make an appt. to get your nails or a pedicure done, you're waiting over :45-1hr. Beyond ridiculous! Would not recommend.

The owner Mike at Moon's is amazing. He is very attentive and detailed oriented. After being absent for 9 months to a year, he instantly remembered my absence and who I was. He truly is the best manicurist I have ever had!!!! I know he holds his staff to the same standards. You might have to wait, even if you make an appointment, but I assure you it is worth it. The best indicator of a successful location is the traffic, and that is the only negative you will see in the previous reviews. They are working on the appointments and making sure everyone gets seen timely. I have never had a better consistency of quality manicure that Moon's provides...to me that is everything...the wait and beyond worth a 5 star review. read more

Let me start by saying I try to always give a business a chance to make things right before I post a poor review because we all deserve the benefit of the doubt. My sisters ombré nails looked good ... I believe it was Helena who did them. Me did my pedi which was pretty good but my dip manicure was very poor. I am used to them being filed down to look thin and natural. They were chunky and looked like blobs on my nails. She also left dip/polish stains all over my fingers and cuticles. She got a new client while my top coat was drying so when I asked her to clean them up she rushed and still left a lot behind for me to clean off myself when I got home. Given that they were so busy I wasn't going to make a fuss and was going to try and call to schedule to come back in so they had time to actually fix them. I went back today (the next day) to try and get them filed down more and to look more natural. Unfortunately Me was the one to do them again ... while they looked a little better they still weren't great. As soon as the rain hit my nails when leaving the top coat got these weird white splotches ...I sat under the dryer so they should have been dry and she told me I could leave. Typically after my dip is filed down there is a sealant or something that is put on before the top coat. I don't know if because she didn't do that it caused the issue. They also look rough with file lines all in them versus smooth like they usually are. I was really hoping after I got my nails fixed I would consider going back in the future but I think I will continue the hunt for a good nail place when I am visiting my family here. read more

Moon's Nails provided some of the worst customer service that I've ever had - in a salon and elsewhere. I was provided with a wait time of 45 minutes. After 90 minutes, no one had followed up with an update or an apology that it had taken so much longer than was estimated. When I asked how much longer it would be, it was clear that I was a huge inconvenience. So after an hour and a half of waiting - I left. My mom and sister got pedicures while I waited and also had a poor experience. The service was mediocre and their interactions were minimal as it was clear that they were talking about my family in another language. I'd never recommend Moon's Nails to anyone. If they're your only option...drive to the next town or paint them yourself. read more

I made an appointment and although they were a bit busy they were able to get me started as soon as I stepped in the door. So first off we came here for my friends birthday party. Her and three others including me. We came to get our nails done and one of our friends had a 1 hour 42 minute wait. One of my friends got gel nails and they looked very sloppy and still charged full pay + getting them redone which added 25 dollars to make it a total of 65 dollars. The second person to do her nails actually took her time and gave her what she wanted unlike the first person. Decided to give it one more try ....it was worse than the first time. My daughter showed them a picture of a sage colored nail design and the manicurist started painting her nails a neon green, my daughter stopped her and said that it wasn't quite the color she was wanting. The lady replied in a very rude tone "Well you go get your color"..... listen, if I am going to drop $100.00 at a nail salon, I am not going to be treated rudely and that was the second time. Never again, and I would strongly suggest that you not waste your money either. My daughter was willing to pick her own color at the beginning but the lady said, she knew the exact color and to sit down..... I have a place in Greenwood that is amazing and I will continue to drive out there to be treated with respect, get what we are paying for and to pay an establishment that is top notch.... The area is clean and well kept but I have gone twice now to two different people and both times had issues with my nails. They have a lot of options for colors but I'm not impressed with the service. The first time I got dip and two of them broke. They were able to fix but it was an annoyance. Then I tried a different person and the dip was not put fully on the nail so the powder is already lifting from the nail. Went in to get it fixed and the solution was nail glue which I had to point out ruined the surfaces of the nail. Solution: file down an already thin dip. The nail still isn't attached. read more

Based on other reviews here and on Facebook, I was excited to try this new salon. I've held off on my review to ensure I wasn't being too hasty with my thoughts. I made an appt for 4pm on a Thursday. Walked in, a woman asked if she could help me. I said I have an appt at 4pm and told her my name. She just stared at me. I repeated myself, told her it was for a pedi and gel mani. Again, just stared, then turned to look at another employee. Finally a younger man, maybe the owner, stepped in. I said I don't know how else to say it, appointment at 4pm for pedi and gel mani. He apologized and directed me towards a pedi chair. I don't care if you speak English well when you're doing my nails, but don't be the one at the front greeting customers. It's human nature for everyone to turn and look at new people coming in, and here I'm repeating myself 5 times to a woman who clearly can't understand me. That's embarrassing & awkward. Sat in the pedi chair until the water was cool. Thought a woman was going to help me (I think it was the owner), but eventually an old man came over. Honestly, I thought he was a janitor - shirt untucked, sweaty, shuffling around. I realize men can do nails, too, but his appearance told me it would be sloppy, which it was. I wanted to just read my book, but he kept asking me questions about what I was doing this summer, etc., which is nice if BOTH people want to chat. When I would put my book down to answer him, he stared at my boobs while I talked, so much that I just kept my book up eventually and talked over it. Unfortunately, he also did my mani. I cut my nails before coming in so I didn't have to explain the length I wanted, just round the edges. He told me they were uneven (they were not) and cut just one on each hand to be waaaaay shorter than the others, so NOW they're uneven. He didn't do anything with my cuticles, didn't even have the nippers open when gliding them around my cuticle areas. Can't trim dead skin if they nippers aren't open! Polish was really sloppy, kept getting it all over my cuticles and skin. I know polish remover cleans it up, but it's not that hard to paint inside the lines the first time. I was in on June 29, so just over a week now and I have all kinds of chips and the polish is lifting on a few fingers already. Gel manicures should last at least a few weeks, if they even chip at all (usually my nails get too long, requiring a new mani, before they ever chip). It was priced comparable for the service, but if it lasts 2 weeks less, then that's not a good deal. I feel like he was told the steps of how to do the services, but that doesn't mean a person knows how to do it well. I also would've liked to learn more about the powder dipped nails, but didn't feel there was anyone who would be able to talk about it. The salon was quite cute and clean, didn't have that run-down boxes-stacked-up look a lot of nail salons have. There was also a cooler of water & soda available for customers, although grab it when you walk in to your right - I didn't see it until I was leaving and no one offered it. I would like to give them another try, but would be too nervous I'd get the old guy again. I'd have to say no, I don't want him, and then we're back to awkward staring by everyone. read more

I have to say this was one of my best experiences at a nail shop. On a lunch break, I called just to see if they could take two walk-ins. The receptionist was very nice and welcoming. When we walked in, their check in process was simple and expedited. They had a check in system with an iPad that allowed you to type in your information, pick your service and start receiving reward points! Very efficient. My pedicure was so relaxing in the message chairs. I ordered the deluxe pedicure ($38) which included a scrub, green tea mask, massage, hot towels & a hot stone rub. I added paraffin wax for an extra $10. My nail tech, Mike, checked in with me enough without interrupting my relaxation. He looked in my eyes to determine if he needed to go harder or softer on pressure; I really appreciated that. I fell asleep almost instantly. The place is very clean too which I love. The tanks get cleaned out by the nail tech or receptionist. If you look around they are constantly cleaning (without interruption to their clients). The staff is friendly and they offer complimentary drinks. They had quite an array of polishes as well as dip powders. I will definitely be back when I'm on this side of town. read more

I was devastated when my long term nail tech moved. My hunt for a new nail tech brought me to Moons. They recommended I remove my existing acrylic set and get a new set.....ok, and put on a much uglier chunky set. Not only were the nails mega thick and unnatural looking, but they were filed sharply by the cuticle making them look like little globs of junk on every nail. The lady even shaped them wrong, and acted like I was bothering her when I showed her an image of the shape I wanted(I walked in with almond, asked for almond, so it should have been no surprise) They started pulling away at the cuticle within the first week, were not blended along the edges of my real nail......just no. Pro's - tons of polish color options, very clean and trendy. Con's - bad technique, acrylic tech doesn't understand a lick of English. read more
