Before beginning, they have you smell two different aromatherapy oils to see what your body needs, which was such a thoughtful touch. The massage itself was incredible, I would absolutely book with her again. Afterward, we spent time enjoying the rest of the amenities, especially the pool. The pool area is beautiful, with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The staff really goes above and beyond, they set you up with a covered chair and even drape a towel to create a pillow for you. I chose Sand Lake Dermatology Center after a negative experience with another clinic. The reviews…read moreare great so I felt like this would be a good choice and so far after two appointments, I really like this clinic and Dr Mailer. Before coming to Sand Lake Dermatology I had a biopsy at another clinic and was scheduled to have a carcinoma removed. I was unable to have this done at the other clinic so I booked the first appt available with Sand Lake Dermatology which was set for the end of July. Once I was able to get my records sent to the clinics, a staff member called me right away and moved my appointment to have a carcinoma removed from my face to last week. Because of the interactions I had over the phone and online with this clinic, I felt comfortable having this clinic remove the carcinoma even though I had not even seen the clinic nor doctor. While I was mildly aware of what the procedure entailed, the staff that prepared me answering questions and numbing me(Marisol and Aaron) were great and made me feel comfortable. Dr Mailer was just as nice and made me feel comfortable. I was of course aware of the dr performing the procedure, I couldn't see it and didn't feel it. The procedure is called Moh's procedure where they typically cut away the determined margin around the affected area, bandage you up and let the patient wait in the lobby while the removed specimen is being reviewed in the onsite lab. If the lab determines that not enough was removed to show clear margins, the patient is brought back in and the dr removes more repeating the process until margins are clear. In my case, the dr removed all that needed to be removed leaving clear margins so after the lab results returned after a couple of hours, I was brought back into the procedure room and the dr proceeded to stitch up my wound applying dissolving stitched under the skin and removable stitches outside. My appointment for follow up and outer stitches removal was set for one week later( this past Tuesday). I was prescribed a heavy antibiotic and advised to keep Vaseline on the stitched up area and keep it covered with a bandage that is changed daily. Once I was stitched up, I mentioned a growth I have noticed on my eyelid and the dr suggested that on my follow up appointment she would take a biopsy. So this past Tuesday I had stitches removed, the area where I had stitches seems to be healing well and it doesn't appear that there will be a heavy scar. I am happy to see this as the area that was removed was quite large and the area stitched was quite long. The nurse, Natalie numbed my face, the stitches were removed and I didn't feel anything. They also numbed my eyelid so the biopsy could be taken. This is a sensitive area so this was a bit more intense but it went quickly and the biopsy was done. I will likely have results next week. What could have been a high anxiety first procedures (I've never had any surgery or stitches) turned out to be a pretty smooth experience. I recommend consideration of Sand Lake Dermatology as the staff and Dr Mailer were great, the waiting room is comfortable and even the staff that manages scheduling, check in, check out, nurses, physicians assistants all made me feel important, individual and taken care of. I wish all medical experiences could be similar to what I experienced.

I gave her a picture of what I wanted and she said no problem and that she could do it. After 6 hours of being at the salon I didn't get even close to what I wanted. Let me share my story... I walked in on Friday and showed one of the girls the picture of what I wanted and she said that was a Balayage technique and only the owner could do it so she scheduled me for an appointment on Monday at 9:00 a.m.. I also asked her about pricing and she said it would be under $200. Monday morning someone finally shows up at 9:15 to open the salon and then proceeds to check the computer for my appointment but of course it wasn't in there. I told her to check the book because I saw the girl write it down and sure enough my name was there. She had to call the owner and let her know that I was there for my appointment. The girl asked me to have a seat and comes near my curly hair with a comb brush and a blow dryer as if she was just going to brush through my curls to straighten them. I had to stop her and ask her what she was doing because she didn't even explain what she was about to do and told her that you can't use that type of brush on my type of hair when it's dry. She then got my hair combed out and blow dried and then I had to sit there and wait until the owner finally showed up 15 minutes later. I was looking around at the different products so when the owner came in she saw me standing looking at a product and the girl told her to give me information about it in English so she showed it to me on her phone and I replied OK thanks and just skimmed through the information and put her phone down. She proceeded to do my hair. I again showed her the picture which she also had on her phone because the other girl had texted it to her to make sure that she could do it, and she said oh yes I can do this no problem. When she sits me down in front of the sink she tells me she's going to apply a treatment on my hair before she colors it. I replied OK because I just figured she was talking about something to help the color stay in my hair being that I chose a color that had purple highlights. 5 hours later we're finally getting to the point where she's going to put purple in my hair but as she's applying it, it looks pink to me so I confirmed with her again asking if this is indeed purple and she said yes a light purple like the picture. I replied OK I just want to make sure it's purple and not pink because it looks a little pink to me. She rolled her eyes and walked away without saying a word. She comes back with a tube of purple and squeezes some extra purple into the mix for my hair. When she washed the color out of my hair it appeared to be more of a burgundy color 1st as opposed to a purple/Violet color. I told her that I was not happy with the color and that it was a lot darker and redder than I expected and I didn't see the balayage technique because she only dyed the top of my head brown and the rest of my hair burgundy. So it looked almost like ombre. She replied stating that there is Brown in the body of my hair and that I would notice it more in the sunlight. At this point I was fed up with being there for 6 hours so I just wanted to check out and go. She had the nerve to charge me $280 for this visit. When I asked her why is it so much she said the minimum she charges for the balayage technique is $200 plus she did an O2 therapy treatment on me that I did not consent to.
