When I went to see if I could get my deposit back, Wendy came down with the contract pointing out what the contract said. She was matter of fact and was very dismissive. I know that I should have read the lay away contract more closely and I have no other recourse. EXCEPT TO SAY I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN. Wendy has bad customer service.

Long story short, the water line was not installed properly and leaked massive amount of water behind the drywall, under the wood floor and heavily saturated the carpet and the owner is hesitant to do anything about it. He gives me "this happened at our house and everything was fine, I've been around a long time and have had my own experiences" BS. He send over fans and a carpet cleaner.......4 days later.......i have known the Shaws a long time and when it wasn't the sons running it was a great business. Instead I get "what do you want me to do?" Ummmmm. If you have had so many experiences you should know what to do. Instead I had to tell him to send someone other then an employee "contractor or someone in construction field" to take care of it. Kudos to the salesman, the only asset at Shaws. Otherwise stay clear of this place. The only and last thing we buy from this establishment.

The show room is huge and well laid out with a great selection. We were greeted by Kelly who was friendly and genuine with a great personality. She remembered my husband from an earlier transaction and offered no push back when we talked about switching up our mattress purchase. After we decided to keep our original purchase we ended up chatting with her and Sarah (the owner) like we were all old friends. It was refreshing! That strategy hasn't worked well over the past two years with delayed shipping, lost items, etc. I'll never get back the hours spent on the hold with those various online retailers waiting for a human being to answer the phone. The end result always seemed to be that the items I had already paid for (in full) were sitting in a warehouse until some random shipping company was available to deliver them. Sound familiar? My experience with Davis Furniture was happily the opposite. I was updated on my order status, and when an issue came up with a shipment that was beyond their control, they quickly found a solution. They delivered my order to my far away address within one week of the items arriving at their store, and their delivery team was so professional! They were very careful not only with the furniture, but with the door frames, stairs, and walls. As ridiculously heavy as these items were, and as tight as the stairway corners were, they left no trace. This kind of customer service is a lost art. You know the saying ... you get what you pay for. Don't be afraid to ditch the online furniture outlets and shop here!
