I signed up online for a class and AERT unilaterally cancelled it and then told me that I would have to take a class at a different location (in a bad part of town) on a date that would be too late for me to obtain a certificate I needed at that time. The owner then said in a loud, angry voice: "We cannot provide you with any classes!!" and hung up the phone. Despite all this, she charged my wife and I $100 for the class. We complained to citicard and Ms. Jaime sent a letter lying about what happened and claimed that we simply failed to show up for the class. I don't know how anyone has given this crooked company a positive review.

The instructor was super nice, but he lead the class via Video ( like 2-one hour videos!!). After sitting through the grueling 4+ hours, the most frustrating part was being told they don't give out completion cards. Plus their computer system wasn't working for the "e-version" certificate they said we'd receive, so I spent 4.5 hours on a Saturday morning and came away with a half completed piece of paper that doesn't have pertinent info I need to prove I took this class. Not a great experience at all. Wouldn't recommend this place.

While it helps to have some natural study skills or to be reasonably good at tests, I hadn't been to in person classes in more than a decade and was concerned about being an older student. My concerns were completely put at ease from day one. Every instructor was both friendly and incredibly capable, knowing the content and the field with a depth of knowledge that only comes from years--and often decades--in the field. While the content was understandably intense and the volume of knowledge overwhelming, the course leaders were constantly checking in and offered extra instruction, guidance and support as needed. The skills staff brought youthful enthusiasm as well as a wealth of knowledge, too, and while that was the area I was most concerned about, we had structured time to practice until I felt 100% at ease. Instructors and staff were easily accessible, patient to a fault and always willing to help. As a career educator myself, I felt impressed by their ability to teach for hours and then stick around to help with skills practice and other needs as they arose. Finally, the reason I initially picked the program proved powerful: the all-inclusive nature. I have ADD and knew I might struggle to follow through on things like registering for the NREMT, or to create the appropriate accounts or know how to focus on which study aids. I also hate cooking and preferred to pick a program that included food so that this subject would be taken care of ahead of time. If you are truly focused on a quick turn around from education to job, this is the best option. Food was included, we got incredible discounts on local hotels nearby, PocketPrep was a lifesaver as I prepped, and every step was not only laid out for us, but we were taken through them together. I cannot emphasize the holistic nature of the program enough. I paid more versus other programs for "white glove service," and I got it--right down to the provided voucher to take the NREMT test itself. Thankfully, I passed the NREMT in 70 questions on the first try. If you can keep up for two weeks of your life and cut out all distractions, then the Unitek EMT Boot Camp is for you.

I was very disappointed with the AED inspection service. This AED is located at a school with young…read morechildren, so making sure it is properly functioning and ready for an emergency is extremely important. We had an ongoing chirping noise coming from the AED, and the technician was specifically sent to diagnose the issue. During the inspection, we were told that the chirping was coming from the Doberman cabinet alarm. However, the cabinet alarm battery was dead, and the chirping was actually coming from the AED/defibrillator itself. We were also told that the AED pads did not need to be replaced because they were not expired. The expiration date was not the issue. The technician was sent to diagnose the problem, whatever the cause may have been, and determine why the AED was making the noise. I ultimately had to figure out the problem myself and replace the AED pads, which stopped the chirping. This means the issue was not properly diagnosed during the inspection, and I was given incorrect information. This is especially concerning because this AED is in a school where the safety of young children depends on emergency equipment being fully functional. I expected a much more thorough inspection and accurate information from a professional AED service company. This is not something that should be taken lightly when it involves the safety of children.
