We wished we had more time to shop what seemed to be some interesting items. My daughter found some cool anime key chains. I found some unique key chains as well. I found this really cool drawer pull, but did not want the whole bag that it was in. The lady behind the counter let me have the one thing I liked for a dollar. That wise nice of her. She recommended places to eat. She was also friendly. We recommend this store to everyone who loves thrifting. We will come back next time we are in town.

Earlier, on a hike at Byers Lake, the guide talked about Devil's Club being used medicinally for things like mosquito bites. I asked around and some locals said that Silverbear Sundries is the place to get Devil's Club balm. Not in Talkeetna? They mail it to you! I got the Mountain Mamma Balm that does NOT have hemp in it and smells great. There are two Pokemon Go pokestops within reach of this store, so stay a while. There are two gyms around the corner, too.

I have extremely sensitive, dry skin prone to allergic reactions, bumps, and a number of other issues. Silverbear Manly Soaps has fixed most of the problems with my skin on almost all of my body, and it smells amazing, and when bought in bulk, it's a dollar cheaper to what I had been using previously, so I'm a convert! I also love their chapstick (Previous Burts Bees addict here!) DON'T PASS BY THIS TINY LITTLE SHOP LIKE I DID FOR SO MANY YEARS! THEIR stuff is GREAT!!!

There was an old woman in the billing section,she took so much care in packaging the items we bought, especially the doll.. I appreciate her talent and the care she took on delivering the purchased items with all necessary stuff,which could have been neglected by someone else thinking it as unnecessary. This one act of hers made my souvenir even more special ,as it is now more like a gift from her. This place has beautiful hand made paintings, Christmas crib in Alaskan theme , other cool Alaskan stuff and regular souvenirs as in other shops. I would recommend this place for a if you're looking for a truly Alaskan souvenir with lots of options. This shop actually lies right at the entrance to the Downtown of Talkeetna.. Don't miss it!!!

Not your usual Talkeetna tourist trap!…read more These are all quality goods: wool, shells, down, etc. Rather than cheesy T-shirts, the clothing in here is more "rugged casual wear". Stuff you that looks just as at home in the bar as it does on the trail. Prana, Patagonia, stuff like that. Selection seems to cater more to women than men, but maybe that's just my own bias? After a few drinks at the nearby Fairview, and a few failed attempts at dates, I stumbled down Main St. towards the river. Before I hit the end of the 'main drag', I noticed a shop with appealing decor and great energy on the right hand side of the road. Upon entering, I am immediately struck by the excellent layout & display of the items within this cozy, log-cabin boutique. Once inside & browsing, I found myself surrounded with hand made items, hats, stylish gear, warm socks, kids clothes, indie artwork sweatshirts, survival necessities, reggae music playing, and most important of all, Mosquito repellent! The gentleman running the store, was a strapping young 29-year old Caucasian Rastafarian. He immediately directed me to a new pair of sandals, with much to my delight, a built in bottle opener in the sole! I was able to get a wide array of gifts for a myriad of friends and family from this unique shop! I even purchased a Water bottle donning their great logo, that happened to 'Glow in the Dark', for easy locating on those long nights sleeping on the banks of the Susitna River! Although their motto should be "finest selection of hipster trucker hats in the Mat-Su Borough", they carry a grand selection of stylish apparel & accessories for Men & Women, as well as Gear, gifts, and necessities for life 'in the bush', on your pilgrimage to "Into the Wild" dude's Bus! They throw open the doors, put out the magic trunks of goodies, and voila! It's your high school theater closet in all it's glory-- all for SALE! It was so much fun to rifle though all the vintage clothing that is so rarely seen in Alaska. They have some LEGIT stuff that I haven't seen in EONS... fabrics and patterns that I wore in the 70's and 80's... it was mind blowing. They even had stuff from the 50's and 60's. Super cool stuff, all reasonably priced. I wish Anchorage had a shop like this.
