I came in for a niche, large item that didn't show a location in the system. Rose was quick to take on the task of helping me find it! As if they were leading me on a safari, we went on a search for the item or for someone to give us more guidance. Even after being told by another employee that because it doesn't have a location means I can only buy it online, Rose had high spirits and dedication to help. We spoke to a couple of nice men in lumber and they knew what I was searching for! In fact, the only 3 they showed they had were outside between the fence and a utility box. Purchased a fridge and was just told the delivery day and they would confirm the time day before. Got a call the day before to confirm and missed it since was out of service however I texted confirm to the text reminder. Then the next morning because I didn't answer at 730am to confirm AGAIN they took me off delivery. I had to call and plead to not wait another 5 days and they came the next day, and with a fridge with two dents because they don't check them in the boxes before delivery. All around bad experience and never again. read more

I bought an appliance that was scheduled for delivery today. They contacted me to verify date of delivery, and informed me they'd contact me the night before and give me a 4-hour window. That never happened. Today I find out I was rescheduled at a much later date without even being contacted to reschedule. Not even a courtesy call or E-mail that my item isn't coming. Garbage. Today at Lowes, all I wanted to do was get some moving boxes and packing paper. I am ringing up my items at the self check out doing just fine by myself when a Lowes' worker comes up and starts asking me if the scanner is beeping every time I scan and giving me grieve (under the guise she is helping me) about if I am scanning all the boxes. I said if you all are so worried about people stealing then you should have cashiers. I am spending money here, I don't work at Lowes to put up with nonsense as if I am employed there. I just want what I came for so I can be on my way. The worker proceeds to count the boxes I have scanned and then goes through all the scanned items on the screen. The worker says I count six boxes here on the floor that you scanned and I point out that the screen shows 7 items scanned meaning I had already scanned one of the boxes that I hadn't had a chance to move from my cart before I was interrupted by the worker. The worker then proceeds to tell me I need to scan the box in the cart that I already rang up. I pointed out to her her mistake and she again told me to scan a box I already scanned. So essentially now I am being charged twice for a box. Again, I say if you all are so worried about people stealing get cashiers. The worker then tells me she's helping me and calls me hun, which I am a middle aged woman, hun is not my name, and this term is often used by other women to belittle or put other women in their place. I asked her not to call me hun. I did not ask for this worker's help or the grief that ensued. Then on my way out, this worker is with one of her coworkers. The coworker then tells me to have a good day hun. I found this highly immature as the two workers had clearly discussed what had went on. I do not appreciate the lack of common courtesy, decency, or treatment while shopping there. Please teach your workers better manners and that hun is not the proper way to address customers. Ma'am, sir, miss are proper respectful ways to interact or asking someone their name and calling them by that. Also don't start assuming people want your help or are not ringing items up appropriately. It was a frustrating experience and I will take my chances at Home Depot before attempting another shopping experience at Lowes. read more

My second choice for home improvement in Wasilla. They do have a nice selection of pretty much everything we just seem to frequent Home Depot more often. This Lowe's does definitely have a better garden & houseplant section than Home Depot. Whoever they have taking care of the plants is doing a terrific job! Great place to find the perfect plant. After a second attempt to have my dryer properly installed, it still does not provide any heat in the drying cycle. The first crew came and didn't hook up the dryer vent. The second crew came and hooked up the dryer vent but there's no heat in the dryer so it's just blowing air. The best part is, they only deploy service people on Thursday so now I have to wait another seven days to see if they'll actually install it properly this time. read more

Called to see if they had a snowblower I was looking for in stock. They checked for me, said they had one left, they transferred me to customer service so I could pay for it over the phone. The worker said she needed her bosses help in order to sell it, she put me on hold while trying to get her boss. When she returned she stated that her boss was on their way. After about 10 minutes she asked if she could call me back when her boss came to help. I said sure gave my name and phone number. After about an hour, I hadn't heard anything back, I called back, was told they had no more snowblowers. Asked for an update on why they sold the snowblower when I was ready to buy it and just waiting on them. Pretty much got no answer, then asked to speak to a manager to see if I could get an actual update. After about 15 minutes of the phone ringing, was picked up then placed on hold for another 10. this is for Lowe's department store in Wasilla Alaska. I ordered a Maytag washing machine. we had to wait 3 weeks for it to get here. They delivered it February 6 at approximately 8:30 AM. They put the wash machine in the cubby and walked away not leveling it ,not turning the water back on. I contacted lowes 15 minutes after the crew left installing the wash machine, they told me I have to contact the store so I did and told him what was wrong with machine it was not level and was literally walking out of the cubby and trying to pull the pipes out of the wall I talked to Robert and a Peter and Jackie from the corporate office Jackie, and she assured me this would be rectified as to no avail nobody ever called back or came out so I called a company called reliable, appliance in big Lake Alaska, which the gentleman was right on top of it. He came out and service the machine so I can get clean clothes I have now been charged 170.73 for service that should've been done when they installed it. This is total incompetence by the installation, crew and total disrespect for customer service as they should've been done by the checklist that is provided in the manual for them to use after talking with numerous people from corporate and the home store in Wasilla, the refusal to take responsibility for their actions for the installation is inexcusable I urge people not to do business with Lowe's department store in Wasilla Alaska . read more

The employees that currently work there are AWESOME! They are honestly some of the most genuine and helpful employees I've ever seen. They helped with recommendations for picking out a BBQ and even hauled it for me into my vehicle. There was always someone around to assist. I unfortunately missed the names of two of the employees, but Vera was one who went above and beyond. As a cashier, she took the time to explain how to get enrolled for military discount, even after my purchase was over. She was very knowledgeable and kind. Unlike AIH which pretends to offer a military discount but every item is "exempt"...Lowe's actually DOES give a military discount. But, discount aside, Lowe's has great prices and lots of stock. I have remodeled 3 houses now using Lowe's for my paint, flooring, lighting, etc. No matter what city...Lowe's people are always courteous and helpful. If they don't have the answer to a question, they go find someone who does! I love Lowe's and choose them over Home Depot every time. My only complaint is that special orders in Alaska cost EXTRA for shipping. In the lower 48, I didn't encounter the shipping issues that I'm having here. I would think they would get regular shipments from the lower 48 so I don't understand why my special order can't just be sent with the regular stock orders. I think they actively discourage special orders with the INSANE shipping prices they want. read more

I try to reserve my yelp reviews for places I really like however, this is not one of those instances. This store is a mess literally and in the sense that the customer service is terrible. I don't know if I spend more time looking for the product I am after or looking for somebody who can pretend like they can help me until they find somebody who can actually help me. After my father retired from this Company I quit shopping here however I gave it a shot today and reminded myself why I do not shop at Lowe's. This is the first Lowe's I've ever been to where NO ONE asked me if I needed help. I saw at least a dozen employees and NONE of them even spoke to me. We attended a Kids Build and Grow. Afterwards, I needed to buy a piece of wood and have it cut into 2-foot pieces. I asked at the tool service counter if someone could cut it and was rudely told that they only cut large amounts of wood for contractors and that I would have to cut it myself at home. Ok well, we are fulltime RVers, so an RV is our only home and I don't have space to haul around expensive, heavy saws that I most likely will never use. Thanks for the help, Lowes. I really dislike going into box stores but this Lowe's is an exception. They have several highly knowledgeable and friendly helpful staff. Bobby and a few others truly know their stuff. The return policy is wonderful, and the customer always comes first the way it should be. This Lowe's is 10x better than the Anchorage or Fairbanks Lowe's we have used many times in the past. Managers also seem to care and listen to their customers especially when they have a legitimate complaint or a suggestion for improvement. And, the electronic tracking online with the free Lowe's card, Military Discounts, and other benefits of this store seems to be a cut above the norm or status quo. I cannot always use Lowe's for projects around the house as they do not always carry the items we need; but if I can, I always try to find it at this Lowe's first. Wasilla Lowe's Location: My husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen and bath; we already knew what products and price point; scheduled an appointment with Shannon, he showed me the products that met our price point and budget. Second appointment was with the builder contractor at our home, we all understood the scope of work, plumbing for the kitchen (no surprise there) since we are cutting it down for a level counter top, tile, etc. We asked the time frame, Shannon and Olig said, one week. We then paid and scheduled the start date. Started 3 days later, and informed us they are so busy they can not complete in the one week they stated. I gave them a time frame of three weeks to finish. We have other contractors coming in so finish on time. That is not what happened; it lingered, noticed not all the material that was purchased never made it to the house; left over unused, unopened boxes; had to call the Manager to discuss work not completed, that was paid for. March 20 was start date; 5 weeks later all the work has been done, 7 weeks later only received a refund on partial items, I will call again on Monday to Jeff the Manager for the unopened boxes of material. Keep in mind, we also found out they charge 25% over material and labor cost. One would think to boast of such cost they would provide a higher standard and not dump plaster waste in the front yard, punch list to meet time frame, and follow through on costs used or unused. This was our first experience with Lowe's so when it is time to sell our home, all the work done was provided from a local box company, and to match materials for future home projects. We tried them, and next time, we will stay with our local home grown businesses. read more
