We have been searching for an activity for our son that could get his attention. Our son has some visual and attention issues. His brain is really busy. Team sports was not a fit for him . While all the other kids were participating he was not focused or engaged. Coaches and other parents did not understand that he couldn't help it, his brain is too busy! In school his attention wasn't very good his ability to sit in class and focus was really bad. His self esteem, happiness and that light in his eyes was getting dim. We went to Moore's karate in hopes to find a physical activity and found so much more. Our sons attentiveness improved dramatically. Then his focus in class was amazing the instructors kept his attention the whole class. I thought it was just me hoping this was the the right activity. As a parent you think it's just you so I gave it more time. The next week he is asking to do chores. His teacher said his attention has improved dramatically he is able to stay on task. His confidence is back and the biggest thing to me is that light in his eyes is BACK. Any parent who has a child with any type of behavioral issues, can relate to me... YOU JUST WANT YOUR CHILD TO GROW UP AND BE SUCCESSFUL!!!!! My son has ADHD with impulse control, goes to counseling weekly, has been suspended from school and is on meds going on 4 years now. As a former teacher with 16 years under my belt, a degree in child development & early childhood education, I HAVE TRIED IT ALL!!! But since starting karate at Moore's Karate 9th Street, my son has improved in so many areas (even his counselor tells me). He's more respectful, responsible and mature. He does his chores without a HUGE argument like before, he's more civil with his sister, he hugs me and thanks me for being a good Mom, just to name a few. I started at this Studio about 5 months ago for the Fit Moms Kick Boxing . I have lost almost 30lbs and can now successfully do unassisted push ups. I have made so many close relationships with the fellow ladies who attend the class. I find it really helps to work out with people who all have similar goals/struggles. We are like a giant family. The Instructor Bryce is absolutely amazing. He is always making sure we are paying attention to our form and pushing us to our limits. He consistently strives to keep the class exciting/fun but challenging. He is always encouraging us to set goals and achieve them. He is always open to our feedback and will often implement our suggestions into the workout. Moore's karate to me has been a blessing for my family. My son has learned to be confident with himself and his abilities to defend himself. He started the karate program 2 years ago being bullied by other kids and not standing up for himself in any way. He has finally built up enough courage and confident (finally) that the bully leaves him alone at school. I have also joined Moore's karate for my own personal growth in Martial arts and as an instructor. I could not be more please with how welcoming all the instructors and families are here at Moore's!! My son has been with the academy for about a year, and I want to share his journey. Unfortunately, our time has come to part ways and time to try new adventures with my son. I am so grateful for all the staff, and for all the work they put into my son. This place is awesome. My Grandson is taken karate. Sensei Brice is so good with him and the other kids too. I appreciate that Brice practices honor and respect, not only in class but also outside of the classes. He teaches this as a way of life, not just behavior in the class. When my Grandson acted out toward family members, my daughter mentioned his behavior to Brice. Because of the high values he teaches, my Grandson lost his belt ( was taken away). He was able to earn it back through correcting his behavior. Since that time he has worked hard and has been encouraged to earn the next level of belt. What a great place. I started at Moore's Karate in 2010. Over the years this particular studio has maintained a consistent quality in its training in martial arts and basic exercise. On top of that, I am always impressed with the importance the karate school places on character building, and how the lessons are guided by Moore's values. I cannot day enough about Moore's karate 9th Street!! My son loves karate & his teachers have a lot to do with it. They are truly unique there & stand out compared to other sport activities we've tried. It's not just self defense my son is learning, it goes deeper than that. It's been such a big positive influence in his life & he's only been going 4 months! We enrolled our 5 year old in karate to help build confidence and discipline. I can't say enough how happy we are with this school and it's teachers so far. My son has many health concerns and limitations. We made Bryce aware and he has never brought it up again or announced it to the class however he is extremely protective of our son. He's very accommodating to my sons limitations but he does not make my son feel different from any of the other kids. He may not see how much we appreciate it but we do!! read more

Literally this place is as good as it gets. Started at Fit Moms Kickboxing to become healthy and have a more active life to keep up with my kids. Since January I have lost 10 lbs, and am becoming stronger everyday. Mentally and physically, working with such a great team and having empowering woman to work with is the best motivation. They have excellent instructors, and treat you as family from the very beginning of joining the karate family. My daughters have recently joined and this is there 1st spprt activities other then doing PE at school and normal kid play outside. Moore's Karate is great! It's a great place for kids to be themselves and get some energy out yet still have structure. This is the best karate school ever I have my five year old daughter and 10 year old son enrolled I have already seen a big difference in both of their personalities and behaviors more respect more confident and more disciplined. Both of my step-daughters are in two different classes at the and both of them are enjoying it.
