One of my favorite things about this gym is the staff; they've ALWAYS made me feel welcomed and done a wonderful job at fostering a 'safe' place (no judgement - all skill levels are welcome). I've been part of the GetFit community now for about 18 months and have slowly increased my level of involvement. At first it was just attending the morning classes, then I got involved in their run club, and most recently I signed up for a bootcamp. The thread of consistency that is woven throughout the different fabrics of well-being is the sense of community. I was officially introduced to Get Fit by my workplace who participated in their 6 week business program called Corp Fit. I have heard about Get Fit from other people who I've seen has lost a lot of weight and looks healthy and strong: men & women. Doing Corp Fit has rearranged my perspective on food and how it's supposed to fuel your body and not meant to be a battle three-five times a day. The program has strengthen my exercise endurance, encouragement to others, and motivation to live a healthy and clean lifestyle. I am currently in my second week of Corp Fit and already I am seeing a lot changes! Thanks to the accountability of my co-workers, coaches, friends and family, I have been able to change my lifestyle and the way I do life in general. Working out at Get Fit was a bit intimidating at first because there were just so many people! Each class has at least 30-50 people working at different stations and doing different things. During the first 5-10 minutes of class, they demonstrate to you each of the moves at Level 2 and 3 and sometimes Level 1. They encourage you to do Level 2, but you can always ask the instructor or assistant what's the Level 1 equivalent. I love how you can always hear the instructor by his headset with every word of instruction or encouragement given. What's unique about Get Fit are the assistants who are the second pair of eyes for the coaches who are watching you to make sure you are doing the moves correctly as to not injury yourself. I would definitely come here more often after my Corp Fit program is finished, and continue building a healthy lifestyle! Is it dramatic to say this gym changed my life? I've always been an active person but I knew I was capable of so much more than I was doing by myself at a regular gym. Get Fit completely changed the way I view all things health/fitness, my own strength and confidence + the community is amazing! Not only did I get the huge push I needed to get in great workouts (that actually gave me physical results!!), but the group of people leading this gym as well as its members who are incredibly friendly and supportive, make it all worth it. Today was my first day attending GetFit Modesto for their 5am class and I am in awe. Hannah was super excellent as a trainer and very welcoming. I got referred here from a coworker to give it a try and it didn't disappoint. First half of the workouts I literally told myself "what have I got myself into!! I'm literally dying!" I pushed through the whole workouts even though I did took breaks but picked back up, went at my pace, which is a great thing. I'm not a fan of cardio and it has been such a long time since I've done any interval training or tabata workouts. I really needed this to rebuild my stamina and endurances. I was a member of Get Fit in Modesto about a year ago. I since have moved and I have yet to find a gym like Get Fit. You will not find a better gym!! Honestly, there boot camp is superior above all others!!! You get your own personal coach, of which you can work out with if you so choose. You can ask her or him questions by phone, and you have to send your photos of your food you eat through out the day. They really have great accountability!! You also get recipes, daily meal plans that include the recipes and the food tastes good!! Now if they would only become so successful that they would put one in Brentwood then I would be so happy!! Review Time people (long post) : soo I have had the luxury to try out get fit for a month because I won a gift certificate at a crab feed about 9 months ago. I waited until it was almost expired to try it out because I was afraid of change and the word boot camp I am sure the military did that to me . Before this I would hit the gym daliy for 1.5 to 2 hours with slow progression and frustration, but when I started at Get Fit I felt defeated but it felt sooo good to be at that point again and to hurt soo good. My first day with Hannah Donnelly I wanted to give up and I looked at her like WHY!!! But I kept coming because the lovely ladies up front said in 2 weeks I would be addicted and that I was. I struggled with my weight all my life until 10 years ago I made a change and worked my buy off to lose 80lbs and have kept it off and been In maintenance mode ever since but I am happy to say in 30 days I have lost 9.5 lbs and 8.5 inches (2 off my waistline). Soo with that being said I have canceled my membership at In-Shape which I had for 14 years and I am here to stay get fit. Now a special thanks and shot out to Hannah for having such good music I am always singing my way through muscle failure I love it and to Rachel Blackman and Hannah for always showing up when I am confused about a move(it's like magic every time) and for being so encouraging I love you guys. And to the ladies up front that check you in (I forget your names ) you were always checking in with me and pumping me up. And for the 6am class for just being awesome, nice and welcoming. Gym was nice and class was enjoyable. I received 11 gym classes as a gift. When I went in I made sure there was no deadline on the visits . I was assured there were no restrictions. I attended 1 class but had been unable to sign up on line so I went in so I could use my 10 remaining visits. Much to my dismay, I was told my visits expired. This membership wasn't cheap. I have been training with Erica Hughes at Get Fit Guaranteed since June. My body has been transformed and my husband says I have a whole new behind. She is the cheapest place to get the BEST personal training. You can't go wrong with $175 a month for UNLIMITED personal training! I love the small group atmosphere and have made some great friends. I have turned from a couch potatoe mommy with no motivation to get to the gym to someone who looks forward to my morning workout and LOVES it. She has TRX suspension training, yoga, kickboxing, Zumba, and a above all a great attitude. I don't like the traditional trainer who I felt like would look down their nose at me. Get Fit Modesto is the best gym I have ever been to. I've moved a few times and cycled through a few different HIIT style bootcamps, Orangetheory, spinning, etc. None of these places come close to Get Fit. I love that the workouts are 45 minutes and they are a VERY well used 45 minutes. Every single workout, I feel challenged and can see myself getting stronger and leaner. I have lost over 20 pounds so far since joining in September. The only thing better than the workouts is the environment. All of the motivation is very positive and everyone is super friendly. This is the best gym I have ever been to. There are many classes and times to chose from and the instructors take the time to explain all moves before class and even offer modifications to make it easier or harder. I really like that it's always a different workout and it's always challenging. Unlike other gyms, you don't have to arrive early to reserve a spot, people are happy to make room if it's a busy class. I'm so happy someone recommended this gym to me. I have three kids so child care is necessary, they have great people working with the kids and they have childcare for most classes even on Saturday! This is my review & my personal opinion only. Always wanted to believe in GF, and as starting out on my health journey, I didn't have anything to base my experience on. Had heard prior to joining that they were "cliquey", only focused on image, and overcharged for their services. After being a member for 2 years there it was time to leave and take my health journey elsewhere, especially with the change in air...For many, they may want to leave, but having the childcare for mothers who want to workout is the vice that keeps them there- not many places offer this. More importantly, if you are considering joining this place, please let me enlighten you with what I wish I would have known back then about the Crenshaw business, but especially John. First off, John uses the catchy slogan "family first". Now this is true if you are John's family, otherwise trainers, childcare staff, and receptionists have no say when it comes to their family, even in missing a trainers' meeting for a family emergency. It is expected that the women cater to his dictatorship. Secondly, John runs his business through fear management. Women are broken down to tears, belittled, and paid dismal wages for training and taking care of your children while you work out. I have personally witnessed two trainers leaving his office with obvious faces that had been crying. A few of the trainers are wholesome and want the best for people, but beware of those others who will laugh at you, follow in the company steps of fake personas, and only use your workout photos to gain followers. Michelle is a trainer that is particularly snotty and will throw a woman under the bus when it comes to being transparent. She is also quick to belittle plant-based coaches for trying to introduce a healthier "clean eating" by avoiding animal body parts during bootcamp. Ashely is a rat, reports everything back to John, and Rachael is just immature overall. They do not support any type of plant-based health. They had a previous older health lady that claimed all soy products cause cancer and had to be avoided for boot camps while neglecting to mention the MASS amount of studies on links of processed animal products to inflammation, colon cancer, atherosclerosis, etc. I get why they want to avoid these health benefits: they partner with other businesses that exploit animals from coffee businesses to health food prep places, to cooking classes, and it would be "bad for their business and bank accounts" to abstain from businesses that exploit animal flesh and products. Ever since John came back from his Hawaii trip, there had been a "change in atmosphere". The tension was so thick it made you choke! This is when John decided to become a dictator full time at GF. Please know that the smile of John is like that of the devil- deceitful and full of lies. Tells you what you want to hear. They also over charge for boot camps and coaches get no where near the price paid by campers for their menu creations, time availability, and meet ups. Some coaches have just relied on meal plans googled off the internet, and they not specific to each camper. For example, the 6'2" 300 lb. man's caloric intake will be much different from the 5'1" 200 lb. woman. For those wondering, GF is not the only one, as they claim, to have the total body scanner. And they charge almost twice what other places do to use it. But the most important reason I choose not to support GF anymore is because of the way John treats the women in fitness. Women to him, are to fake this facade that everything is ok behind closed doors. Even if he just cut you to the bone in a closed door meeting where you were bullied into thinking you had no worth, he wants to "take a sweaty selfie" post workout together to fake that all is fine. It is especially important you wipe away tears as he would tell them so that people wouldn't see you had been crying in a meeting as you walked out of the office. I get that image is important, especially on social media, but being real and genuine are so much more appreciated by people. People come to your gym to become a better healthier version of themselves and being surrounded in a toxic environment is not good for anyone. As a side note, they also prefer staff to volunteer their time so that they do not have to pay them. Be careful when they advertise they are supporting someone who was diagnosed with a disease or ailment- it's more likely great for the business image and not done so for everyone. So in short, if you want to work out where you will be judged, where women trainers are subject to being bullied, and want to overpay for the trendy namesake of Get Fit, be my guest. I just want to warn others so that they can be informed and make their own decision...I just wish I had this information before I started there. Again, this is my personal opinion only. read more

The staff is amazing and are so great about creating a community within their gym. We have completed the Financial Fit class as well which has changed our lives for the better. The best gym I have ever found!! So unlike any other. Very positive and encouraging. I've learned so much about health, fitness, and food thanks to the boot camps they offer throughout he year!! Everyone there is nothing but positive and has you and your health at the top of their priority list! They are quite family oriented and are constantly doing things for the community like an AMRAP-a-thon to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club. They have so many programs geared to various fitness interests like RunFit, which trains you for running/walking races, or ChallengeFit, which trains you for events like the Spartan or the Tough Mudder!! A great work out (kickboxing is powerful,TRX is addictive, RunFit crowd is fun!) some fantastic instructors that take their time to explain moves, their members are sweet and friendly too. They have the MOST flexible scheduale, classes are as early as 3:30/4AM and continue through out the day til 7:30P, it's at ur own level and challenging for both men & women but.....i have to take 1 star away because....it's annoying that people's kids are always in the way while we're working out. The studio is not that big to begin with so it's a nuisense when your trying to get water within 30 seconds or ur doing weights and you gotta pussyfoot around children scattered everywhere! It's sad because they have a cutesy corner for children, (that's where i leave my little one) that seldom gets utilized by anyone except me it seems..an accident waiting to happen Getfit, handle ur buiseness. I have to take 1/2 star away for the Dancefit class....it's a joke. The "dance" teacher is sloppy and cant dance. She also does the same boring songs and same boring dance moves again and again, it's a waste of time. I have to take another 1/2 star away for the floors cleanliness. Theres all kinds of sweat and hair on the floor that doesnt seem like it's getting cleaned up regularly. Theyre closed on sundays and by the time i get there monday morning, it's the same filth from saturday. We notice Getfit, pls invest in a steam cleaner. (floor should be cleaned daily, more than once even) Again, another accident (bacteria,mold) waiting to happen if they dont catch it now. If i see some changes, ill update my review. read more

I live in Chicago, but keep up with my fitness routine here when I'm in town to visit family 3-4 times a year. I had tried a couple of other gyms and studios in Modesto before finding Get Fit, all of which were somewhere on the "meh" scale. I've been going to Get Fit during visits home for about 9 months now, and honestly I can't say enough good things about this place! Schedule is awesome - very easy to find a convenient time. The classes are intense but easily scaled based on your fitness level -- the instructor always explains how to scale up or down as needed. The members are at all different levels of fitness so it's not at all intimidating, and the vibe is always very positive. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. The exercise is a great mix of cardio and strength-- sort of like CrossFit but without all that annoying insisting upon itself. If I lived in Modesto this would absolutely be my permanent gym! read more

Wasting money and never getting any results! I recently signed up for Rock Body Bootcamp Season 13 at GetFit and I couldn't be happier! This place is unlike any other fitness studio even if you're not in Bootcamp! The staff has knowledge about what they are teaching and are so passionate! The staff and owners at GetFit CARE about their members and will go out of their way to motivate, educate and support you while you workout and push toward your goals! I started working out at Get Fit in June 2010 4 months after having my baby. I had already lost all but 5 of the 28 lbs I gained while pregnant but none of my clothes were fitting at all. I needed someone to help me get back on track. I not only lost all my baby weight but 24 lbs more! Erica became much more then a trainer to me but a friend. The way I think about food has totally changed. I am now working out with the Mommy & Me group and love it! It is a great group of mom's and my little guy loves playing with the other kids too. The workout is based on where you are at individually with modifications for those that need them. There is nothing better then showing your child how important it is to live a healthy life style and how much fun it can be at the same time!
