With my last visit I walked in on a whim, fully decked in my farm clothes, told them what I needed and they found me a well fitting jacket (which is difficult for me: medium arms, medium build- long torso with wide shoulders) very quickly. I then said "how can you not have that many? When we were here month ago we saw a whole ton of blue color samples to choose from for custom suits." He's like "Oh you want custom?!" I later noticed that he was walking around eating a celery stick, then sat down in a chair to watch the TV they had mounted on the wall. The person who helped us in the back was sweet, but also quite timid, so I didn't think it would be valuable to vent about Karin to her. I sent an email to their customer service instead. My fiance wanted my opinion before moving forward with his suit rentals, especially since he doesn't know what colour my wedding dress is and I want the suits to complement it. Upon arriving this morning, there were two young female employees working there, I didn't get their names. One was professional, bubbly and friendly. The other came off cold, stern and aggressive in her approach in assisting myself with my fitting for my tuxedo rental. I'm doing measurements, she came off aggressive in her instructions. Upon paying for certain fees before departing from the Moore's in Nanaimo, I had specific but yet general questions regarding timelines and rough time frames on when our rentals would arrive. Her approach in answering was to talk over me, sternly and said "you can lose the attitude!". It was very specific too, "you can lose the attitude". I understand retail work has its challenges but being in a position that is typically required to have some form of cordial behaviour, professional courtesy and polite manners. When none of these basic skills aren't present in assisting customers, it's very discouraging to customers like myself who came in to get fitted and spend $ on these services. In addition to this, because of her attitude towards me, she costed the business the opportunity of making a purchase as I had full intentions in purchasing this dress jacket, but thanks to how she engaged me in her customer service, I declined the idea of purchasing this dress jacket. Since I don't know her name, she was the employee who had purple highlights in her hair, average/ short in height and on the petite side with prescription glasses.

I've never had worse service from a place before in my life. Originally my problems started with…read morethe Langford location, where I was measured for my friends custom order for his wedding. When I showed up to the Victoria location (as thats where most of the business was being done) they had no notes of my measurements at all and thus were unable to fulfill a custom order for my friends wedding. Fast forward to MY wedding, we arranged with the assistant manager of the Victoria location to get a custom order done (3 piece suit for me, vests and pants for my groomsmen). The problem started when one of my groomsmen informed me that he had been measured for a jacket as well (adding about $300 to our price) which had apparently been done for ALL the groomsmen. This problem was corrected and then we moved on to issues with the shirts we were buying (off the rack) which they either couldn't seem to find sizes for or lost repeatedly "somewhere". I also got a VM for my shirt asking if i had picked mine up or if they had ordered me two by accident (i hadn't picked it up and i had not ordered two). Then they were supposed to send my suit over to Vancouver so I could get it properly fitted at a Moores near where I was staying, thankfully i decided to check in Victoria when I was back for a day (two weeks later) as they had never even sent my suit over and the assistant manager (who i had dealt with the whole time) was surprised that I was asking (he'd obviously forgotten). Not once did I hear an apology about any of the screw ups that happened (on our very simple order). I will never deal with Moores again as they are obviously not a very professional company.

She ended up finding the perfect dress, exactly what she was looking for. I'm happy because we spent under $50 on a dress she'll likely not wear again. She also found a great accent necklace to go with it. Tip: don't try on dress by sizes, look for the style and colors you want first. We found things that fit my daughter from size 4-16. Dresses like this really vary in sizing.
