They took care of all the cleanup. Very impressive crew and would definitely recommend their services!

Spiders Tree Care Service was initially recommended to me by a neighbor, who was very happy with…read morethe job they did removing over a dozen large trees. I also received several other tree service company suggestions. So, when I needed 3 pines removed from the backyard, I included Spiders among those I contacted regarding the project. After getting 5 estimates, I went with Spiders primarily because of: 1) their excellent references; 2) great reviews on Yelp and elsewhere; as well as 3) their reasonable pricing and comprehensive proposal (some of the other companies would not do stump grinding themselves and I find it a lot easier to deal with one company on any project). The job Spiders did was outstanding. They came in when scheduled and went right to work. Their crew was clearly very experienced and deftly handled the tricky job of carefully removing one of the pines which was only several feet from the house and had a number of large branches overhanging the roof. (One of the guys climbed up the tree then tied up and sawed off each branch, while the other was pulling it off on a rope.) Better yet, they were extremely fast and efficient, cutting up and chipping the debris just as others were taking them down piece-by-piece. The entire job took 1.5 hours from when they pulled up to when they left, which reduced the noise and disturbance time. They also did a thorough clean up and were kind enough to help me by removing some detritus from a previously felled tree. Based on my experience, if you have any tree care issues, I cannot recommend Spiders Tree Care Service more highly!

I was surprised at the speed and efficiency that they all came down, and surprised that the noise level was not as bad as I thought it would be. Shawn is great to talk with and very thorough in getting all the details down. The crew were all nice and very respectful - highly professional on everything from how to cut trees down, to asking me if I wanted to save certain trees that were in the way of others coming down. The crew was interested in our landscaping project, and I enjoyed talking with them and watching how they went about the job. They fit in taking a few more trees down that we decided upon at the very last minute, and easily worked it into their schedule. For all that they did, how well they did it, courteous and left the place not messy - the price is right! Also, after talking with Shawn, I know that he takes good care of his employees, and that makes a world of difference in the job that they do. I highly recommend their services and will be working again with New Urban Forestry with any future tree issues or needs we have.

They came out with all the necessary equipment right on time and make quick work of a very difficult tree removal. The quoted price was very fair and right in line with what I was told to expect. So, I'm not quite sure what is going on with Southern Roots Tree Service... I had them remove about…read morea dozen trees this week. I'll say the crew was awesome; they safely removed the trees. However - they stacked the main part of the tree/logs on a neighbor's property without my knowledge and left them! I had been messaging with the owner/boss (Alex) and he told me that the company would be back the next day to pick them up, however they didn't show. I've messaged 4 times, called 3 times and gotten no response. Unfortunately I've already paid.. Primarily, I hope everyone is ok. But while communication was fast up until i sent payment, now it is non-existent. So, I really do hope Alex/everyone is ok and there's a reasonable explanation for the non-communication at this point. But I am not sure what else to do except post a negative review to see if that pings anyone to follow up with me. I did appreciate that the crew did a couple extra things for me, however it was mainly due to damaging trees i wanted to keep when they felled other trees. We even lost a flowering tree we really cherished. Another beautiful tree was badly damaged and they pruned it afterwards. Hopefully it survives, but a large portion of it had to be removed. Perhaps this is standard for any experience with tree removal, but it was a surprise to us. We weren't aware the trees would be felled sideways, as we thought they would be cut down piece by piece so as not to do too much damage. Oh well, I put that misunderstanding on myself, but i wish i would have asked more questions and understood better. Perhaps a more thorough explanation of the process and the damage the trees and skid steer tractor does to the yard would have been helpful to me in making a decision on who to use for this job. We definitely now have a significant landscape bill that will be needed to fix a lot of the damage to the yard. I am happy to amend my review if i can get Southern Roots to finish the job. But i am wondering if i now have to pay another company to come remove these logs from my neighbors' property. I just haven't been communicated with and i cannot contact anyone there via text, cell call, facetime audio, email or website inquiry.

First, let me say that Four Seasons does GREAT work. For that I give them credit. I'm very pleased…read morewith the outcome. However, if you use them, I advise you to ask the following question when receiving your estimate: "Does this estimate include EVERYTHING we just discussed?" Then go item by item and be CERTAIN that you make them list EVERYTHING you are expecting on that invoice. Case in point: Chris - really nice guy by the way, and made the heavens part to get my work done- met me at the property. We directly discussed the following: 1. Bring in soil to fill in low spots and redirect the water flow. 2. Add grass seed and cover with wheat straw. 3. Trim bushes at the front of the house (I actually did 4 of the 5 myself before they came out anyway as they were blocking the front walkway). 4. Add mulch in the area along the front of the house and in a new bed created when the soil was added. 5. Mow around the house on all four sides. 6. Clear brush from extended back yard (later deleted). And here's the important one: 7. Cut low hanging branches blocking the view of the house, and to allow more light to the new grass seed. Chris himself even added they would remove the branches that were hitting the roof and siding - something I hadn't even NOTICED, and I thanked him for seeing that. So far, so good. The estimate was received, and the quote with the clearing of the back area deleted was $2800. Now this is where my advice earlier to make sure each and every item you DISCUSSED is SPECIFICALLY included as a line item in that quote. I guess that was my bad, as, even though we had specifically discussed every one of the 7 items listed above in person, items 4 and 7- the adding of mulch and trimming of the trees - was not on the estimate. So, when the invoice was actually received, it was $3775! $975 - or 26% MORE THAN the estimate. This additional expense - as listed on the invoice was for: "Tree work: $245 - limb up two tree - haul off cuttings Mulch / Pine Straw: $730 - install mulch in front beds and newly formed bed above the wall $595 - install pine straw around both trees $135" All except the pine straw was SPECIFICALLY DISCUSSED IN OUR ON-SITE MEETING. Now while the pine straw was definitely needed, and I have no problem at all with that $135, I believe the tree trimming and mulch SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE as part of the original estimate as they were SPECIFICALLY discussed. on site. And when this issue was brought to light, no compromise was even offered. This is where I recommend that EVERY SPECIFIC ITEM YOU DISCUSS APPEARS ON THAT ESTIMATE - and then Ask the question "Is this everything you will be doing?" That would have uncovered the need for the pine straw which should have been added. Expensive lesson learned. Hopefully on both sides.
