The site is clean, well-maintained and above all quiet and peaceful. The pool is just right - as are the outdoor showers and bath house. We're booked for next year and will share more photos. We have a Roadtrek Van and also set up a screen house (we call it our living room). Previously we had fires at night but it was kinda warm so we didn't indulge. Another favorite thing to do is to take our morning coffee (or our eventing cocktail) and sit on the chairs overlooking the ocean. If peaceful wooded experiences are for you, this is a great deal. Bonus in that it is close to Rockland and even Camden for even more fun.

However it's been sold out to a corporation and as it's typical they are only after the $$$. You can not pre book for the following year, and the have a season camp manager, who although very nice has no answers to anything other than call the 1-800 number. We met many ppl over the week we were here and most of them repeat travelers who agree this may be their last year due mainly to the attitude and corporate hospitality, aka none. It's a shame, this was a nice family feel and accommodating camp ground. Our family have been coming here for three generations. The campground itself is pretty much unchangeable, the amenities could be upgraded and spruced up, but we come for the feel of the grounds. The cold corporate feel it's already having is making us think twice sadly.

We were told that our site was on the water and filled out all our information. I was very pleased that they were able to accommodate our stay on such short notice, but when we went to check in on the day of our stay, they told us the site we had rented was already rented and put us in another site about a quarter-mile from the water, and didn't give us any discount or even apologize about this. We then looked at the information sheet we had filled out and they had deliberately written over our reservation and switched it. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this campground to anyone after this terrible experience, especially knowing there are much nicer facilities nearby.

The park guides are very helpful. We went straight to Mt Battie Rd for a beautiful scenic view of Camden Harbor. Penobscot Bay and Megunticook Lake. The views are out of the world! We spent 2 days going in and out of the park to see daytime versus sunset across the bay. We actually had a small picnic while visiting. This was a very calm relaxing experience. I highly recommend especially if you like wandering and hiking in parks. There is two sides to park, so dont forget to drive across the street.

This family camp is a true gem - the best kind of all-inclusive vacation for families. My family of…read morefive loves it. The kids spend time by themselves, my husband and I have time alone and together, and we have time with the kids to enjoy each other as a family. The camp is large enough for the kids to exercise their independence --heading to the barn for activities or kayaking in the cove by themselves without me worrying about them. When we go, I don't cook, clean or plan anything - which as a busy mom, is the best kind of vacation. The camp is rustic and simple but very clean with beautifully manicured grounds - a space just perfect for appreciating nature. The food is delicious (I probably gained 5 lbs last week) and easily catered to special diets. I enjoyed a nice mix of structured activities (fishing, sailing, art, archery, land sports, barn dance, bingo, etc) and down time (time at the lake or for a nature walk or just to relax around the fire). I also appreciated the sense of community that camp strives to create each week among the family members. At about 10-12 families per week, it is just the right size. Can't recommend this special place highly enough and I can't wait to go back.

We were warmly welcomed by the amazing staff and guided to private cabin which was perfectly outfitted for our family of 4. The daily schedule has great variety and tailored the ages of all campers. 3.5 stars. Point…read moreLookout is a picturesque resort with stunning views of Penebscot bay from "The Summit". This is where, if you go for a wedding, the ceremony will be held. It's also where we had breakfast the following morning. It was the highlight of the trip. The reception was held in a different building that was also very nice, but didn't have the same views. It didn't matter much - the sun sets early these days so there was nothing to see. The cocktail hour featured pass horderves including a lobster shooter and steak with blue cheese dipping sauce. No complaints here. The salad and bread were nothing special, but I had the salmon for dinner and it's one of the best pieces of fish I've ever had. I highly recommend it. The cake was pretty good too. We had our choice of three types, and of course, I tried all three. Chocolate was my favorite. (lemon was my least favorite, with chocolate mousse being second). Overall, the food was good. Another positive was the bowling alley. If you go with a group (eg Wedding party) you can reserve all 8 lanes. We had fun for 3 hours. It included music, finger food and a cash bar. I also enjoyed the hiking trails, though I have one gripe - they should be rated (beginner, intermediate, etc.) We hiked a trail to the lake and my blind, 80-year old uncle had a tough time. This trails had hills, rocks, roots and deep puddles. I would consider this intermediate. At least one other trail looked like a x-country ski trail (just grass) and was much easier (it would be a beginner trail!) Overall, the staff were polite and friendly. During our 3 day stay, we encountered only one rude person, and she was the check-in person (in other words, the first person we met). I forget her name, but long story short we wanted to know if we should grab ice from the machine or whether there was some in the cabin and she rudely replied "Well, how should I know what's in the cabin!" Um, OK crabby lady... but she was the exception, thankfully. Actually, a highlight regarding service was when my cousins locked themselves out of their cabin and a staffer from the reception went to get them a new key so they wouldn't have to leave! Excellent job! As far as the cabins go, they are nicely appointed and plenty warm (We went on a chilly November weekend). Our only complaints were a lack of seating in the living room (could have used a sofa or another chair when entertaining) and the very hard mattresses. Also, the beds are queens, so understand that. My parents ended up ordering a cot because the bed was too small (no big deal, only $20 a night). Also, the housekeeping does not really clean the cabin. They don't do dishes or make the bed during your stay. They will drop off TP and fresh towels. This didn't bother me much, but it was a surprise. One last note on the cabins - the last sign for cabins 40-106 is insufficient in the dark. The sign says take a left by the Athena U building, but really, it's a hard left up a hill (almost a U-turn) and it's easy to miss. You could end up down an alley by a dumpster which several of us did. Lastly, I will say that though I enjoyed my time here, for better or worse, it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. (some people might enjoy this). I lovingly referred to Northport as East Bumf***, Maine. It's about 4hrs from Boston with traffic. For some reason, my cell service didn't work, though others with AT&T had fine service all weekend. Northport doesn't have much going on, nor does Lincolnville (I did visit the one pub, Whale's Tooth, and it is very dated and caters mostly to locals in the off-season). Camden is 15 min away and does offer plenty of restaurants and shops. We went here several times. Overall, it was a lovely wedding and fun to see my relatives. Not sure I'll ever be back but some recommendations nonetheless: Think about adding a little store where people can buy essentials and maybe a six-pack of beer; perhaps add a pub; I heard the frisbee disc golf course is non-existent and this could be fun; throw in a mini-golf course while your add it - really anything to make it feel like an all-inclusive resort so you don't really have to leave if you don't want to.

I appreciated that the rooms were equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, and paper towels -- all key for traveling with a kid and a dog. My son loved the 'smores by the campfire Glenmoor had a few nights a week. The property is convenient for exploring nearby Camden and Camden State Park. There is a ton to do in this area. We'll be back!

We were traveling for our honeymoon, and it was very quiet and romantic. The room was adorable and every morning there is a delicious breakfast with juice and coffee at your door! They also have a shop in the office with local wines and beers. We couldn't have asked for anything more. PS we loved Jasper (doggy).
