Last night of my Helena vacation. Was a storm coming in this evening and didn't want to go all the way into town for dinner in a thunderstorm. Found Moose Junction Pizza with a quick search. Went in with medium expectations and this place FAR EXCEEDED those expectations! Was really good! They are part coffee shop, part pizza restaurant. Never seen this combo back home and it really works well. It's an order at the counter and seat yourself. The dining area is small and more like what you'd expect from a coffee shop and that makes perfect sense. I'd definitely return if I am even in Helena again. read more

Stopped for a large take-out Pepperoni Pie. Drove home and opened the box to a big surprise (see picture). "Certainly, the young ladies who took care of me at the pizzeria would never have bitten the pie", I said. I looked at my lovely wife, whose lap was occupied by the pie for the 33-mile drive home. "Don't look at me" was all she said. Then the look on her face became very serious as she picked up her phone. I couldn't keep a straight face any longer and "fessed-up". After calming my wife down and making pointless promises to act my age, we enjoyed the well-prepared pie. The crust was medium in thickness, the quality sauce and cheese properly balanced, and the pepperoni plentiful. After chopping up a few pepperoncini and sprinkling them over the pie, it was much better than average. Recommend. read more

Moose Junction - It ain't me, babe. - Pizza Near Me - Helena, Montana

First I want to say that I really like their pizza. It is delicious, but they don't have thick crust, or pan crust, which I wish they did, and if I could take 1/2 a star off for that I would, but that small detail isn't worth taking a whole star, so they still get a 5 star rating. A couple of things to note. They have the best crust ever. Normally the crust on pizza is just a blah leftover type thing, but this crust is soft and delicious enough to make a POINT of eating, especially with some ranch. BE CAREFUL THOUGH!! DO NOT buy their medium. They have two sizes, a large and a medium. The medium is about half the size of the large but it costs only $5 less of what the large does. So if you buy a bunch of mediums you'll pay almost as much as you would if you bought a bunch of larges but you'll get half as much pizza. I learned this the hard way by buying mediums first and wondering why they were so small and so expensive. But once you understand that it's only five dollars more each to get the ones twice the size, it's a much better deal. Still not cheap though... The other thing my wife really likes is that it's a full-service coffee shop with all the fancy coffees you can imagine. I've never seen a pizza/coffee shop before. I think it's a great idea though and they were ingenious for thinking it up. My wife loves their sugar-free vanilla lattes and they have a reward system and usually every two trips we can get a free sugar free vanilla latte from my wife as a reward. Well done moose Junction. In addition, they offer dairy free cheese which is very important because my daughter, who loves pizza, cannot have dairy, and she can eat here! That is a huge plus and it's the only pizza place I know where you can get dairy free cheese on your pizza. Also, they have a drive through! I recommend Moose junction if you like pizza, but BUY THE LARGES!! And moose Junction, please offer thick or pan crusts! PLEASE?! read more

Moose Junction is about 10 minutes from the house so today we tired their coffee. Good stuff! The iced cold brew had great flavoring and a nice chocolate finish to it which is my favorite. Good assortment of drink options as well; hot and cold. read more

Not bad. I like the redbull refreshers and their bagels are great! The Meaty Moose is pretty tasty as well, and very filling. The only thing I'm not super fond of is the service. Some staff are great, but it seems every-time we come when one particular gal is working she messes up our drinks or food and takes a really long time to get things moving. She has also messed up our rewards several times & so we were unable to earn our points because of it. One time I asked if I may use my (clean) cup for a drink, and she was extremely confused & just kind of stared at me. Just wish the service was a little faster and organized! read more

I hate moose junction. All my homies hate moose junction. It was my birthday and I called Applebees and they said they'd give me a free desert and I asked for it to go and the guy said they could totally do that, well, then I showed up and the wench at the front told me "You have to sit down and eat for that, we don't just GIVE those away" so I was like okay whatever. Then I went Starbucks for my free coffee and the nice lady told me that the espresso machine was down so no coffee for me :( then I called moose junction and ordered a birthday pizza and the guy was like "yeah of course sir that'll be like 20 minutes it'll be ready". when I showed up I had enough stars for a free coffee, but the lady said my dad used all my free stars for a free coffee already and I was like okay whatever, I also have a pizza to pick up and the lady started asking for a code and I was like "the guy didn't say anything about a code on the phone" and she was like "We can't just GIVE out birthday pizzas without a code. I picked up a Meaty Moose for my son recently and we were disappointed that the amount of toppings has been reduced and the toppings were just thrown onto the pizza so that some of the pieces had only a couple of ingredients. The price has gone up and now the toppings have been cut - just like every other product we are suffering from "shrinkflation". So very sorry they choose to go this route as we will probably shop around for a better deal. read more

Ordered my pizza for pick up at 5:30 and they said it was ready when I paid then they brought out the wrong order. They said my last one was being boxed up but was later told it would be 10 more minutes before my order was ready. There are others who are also waiting on pizza orders. I had to wait 20 minutes after my pick up time before I got my order. Pizza is pretty good though. As I wait and look at their coffee area, I see milk, whip cream and a dirty blender just sitting out. It's been there for 20 minutes now. That's not good :/ read more

Ordered a wrong med pizza by mistake that contained an allergen for me. I opened the box before I left the store and saw it contained green peppers. Asked for options on getting a refund or another pizza and was told by Morgan that I "touched" the pizza so no refund could be offered, and my only choice was to buy another pizza. Shawn, (owner), love your business and pizza but you need to train your workers to do better. I have never had a bad visit to your restaurant, but this experience left me cold. read more

After setting up at the KOA a short distance away we wanted something quick to eat that was nearby, Pizza sounded good and Moose Junction was close. Even though we arrived 5 minutes before closing they happily made us a Canadian Moose pizza (like a Hawaiian) to go. It was excellent, very fresh, lots of toppings and cheese. We got the 12" for the two of us and it was plenty with a couple slices left for lunch. Very reasonable price of $12. We would definitely eat here again when in the area. We didn't have any coffee drinks but they have a great selection with good prices. read more

This review is for the pizza and service only- I hate to give this place 2 stars, as I really tried to like it. It's close to my house, and there's no pizza delivery out in the north valley. It has a nice atmosphere especially with the new seating, and the service is decent. Compared to the service I've seen in Helena it's on the upper end of the spectrum. However, it took 45 minutes for a pick up order tonight- which is what I expect a delivery to take on a Sunday night. I've worked in pizza places before. Now on to the food- like I said, I've tried to like it. For the convenience I don't mind paying for decent food, even if it's not my favorite. But for some reason I just don't get all the hype around this place. The pizza is nearly tasteless- this is the 3rd pizza I've had from them, and it feels like something is missing. Like they don't put seasoning in their tomato sauce. It's just overly bland. The toppings seem like your standard "off the food truck" lower grade meats and veggies. Same with the cheese. The one thing they are doing right is the dough. The pizza dough is cooked perfectly and has a great texture, but is still bland. The Moose bread isn't bad- I think the garlic helps them out in the flavor department. I usually end up eating more of the moose bread (which is a massive serving). Unfortunately I will probably not return, nor recommend to friends or family. I was really excited about the great reviews when I first tried it, but was let down. Tonight I tried it again with an open mind, seeing if something had changed but i walked away with the same experience. I'm glad people like it- and I like to see local business thrive. But overall I think people in Helena are so desperate for new/decent food that they don't know what good food tastes like anymore. So, we tried this place again. Warmer Spring day and the wife said they had $6 dollar pizza. We took the bait. For $6 bucks this is a decent pizza. Would I ever pay full price here again, nope! They might want to keep this deal going all the time and advertise it more. Again, the pizza is on the same level as Little Sleazers. The coffee is pretty good. But oh my God it takes forever to make. 100% of the time I get coffee here it takes an average of 10 minutes in the drive through. If you live in the north valley and want coffee you can drive into town and back faster than you can get through the drive through. Seriously, I've timed it. I honestly believe they can cook a pizza faster than they can make a black coffee. That being said the pizza is really good and they do make it fairly quickly. read more

Love this place! Not only are their drinks delicious, but their staff is wonderful too. I tried to go through the drive through one weekend, before knowing what their hours were. They were already closed, and the owner was actually getting ready to drive away. He was so nice, pulled up to chat with me some about it and go over their hours. What really stood out to me, was when they did their customer appreciation special, which was $1 for any regular sized drink. I want to say it was at least a 13 hour work day for them, and we got there right when they were trying to stop. There were probably 3 cars in front of us still, and then one behind us. They were still SO nice and professional while making drinks for myself, my husband, and my toddler (they have great fruit smoothies there!) and didn't make us feel at all like we were inconveniencing them (with it now being 10 minutes past when the special/work day was supposed to end for them) and everyone still had a smile on their face. Can't wait till they start delivering pizza out there :) OMG. I wonder if they'll deliver a mocha to me!? This could be financially draining for me if they do that.... read more

Living out in the valley our choices are limited. I saw there signs saying they have pizza, so we gave it a shot. The pizza is amazing with what appears to be all fresh ingredients and the crust was golden brown yet perfectly chewy. So happy to finally have decent place for pizza out in the valley! read more
