We were driving through on a road trip and found this cute little oasis! The staff was super friendly and the room newly renovated. It's got a queen bed, a great little shower /toilet, they provide the towels and wash cloths. There's a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The room was crazy clean! The ac worked great (we were there in August) We also had a nice tv . I'd totally recommend this place if stopping through town. Oh, there's a Chinese restaurant that's nearly that stays open late and a convenience store for snacks / we needed neosporan at the last minute. A friendly officer stopped in the store and was great with our kids Oh, there's not much in town for breakfast, we just went to the next town over.

The staff here was so kind, helpful and down to earth, we were on a first name basis with everyone. There's a restaurant which serves all local farm to table food and coffee, a fully stocked bar, game room, hot tub, fire pits, super great massage chair, and we even went on a snow cat tour. Our cabin was cozy, comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend. We will be back!

I guess my purpose of never going in was that we came in on the other side of the mountain (Off of McClure Pass), and never really ventured into the "Hubbard Park" area. We always had our big wall tents, wood burning stoves, and food for the week. So I guess we never really needed to venture that way. Let me tell you we were MISSING OUT on something amazing. I ended up venturing over into that area due to the dry season, high temperatures, and the sparse amount of elk in the area that I am usually in. I got a tip from someone about a place in Hubbard Park so decided to go check it out! First the spot was amazing, and was what I hunted for the rest of the season. However, after my first night scouting the area I decided to stop in for a beer and a meal at electric lodge. First, The staff is amazing! From the back kitchen staff, the bartenders, the waitress's, the bar backs, etc! You all rock! Super friendly, great to talk too, funny to be around (I love sarcasm and they could all read that). The place was clean, warm, and rustic truly made my hunting trip feel even more amazing. The food was great (Only criticism is a little pricey, but hey supply and demand so no complaints). The beer was cold and in a clean glass so no complaints there (Also reasonably priced). The next night I ended up bringing my whole hunting crew over for dinner and some beers after our evening hunt. They all enjoyed it and we had probably some of the best brisket and smoked sausages I have had in a long long time. We all talked about looking in one year of just staying at the lodge instead of setting up our camp. It wont be an every year stay, but worth looking into every few years. However, even if we set up our own camp you can sure as heck no that we will be stopping in for at least one night each year. Great work Electric Lodge! Great work Electric Lodge Staff! This is my new hidden gem that I can't wait to tell people about!

We later…read morecalled to change the reservation for 1 drift boat for July 8th, but we were never able to speak to a live person, so my wife left a voicemail. After a few days of not hearing back from Dutch John Resort, my wife called again and left another message. Long story short, my wife called a total of 5 times and no one ever returned her call. One person said someone would. Jump to July 8th. We arrived at the store to pick up our drift boat, what a nightmare. We contacted the young lady who was working in the fly fishing store, and she was truly a breath of fresh air (Ms. Martinez is her name). She went through our reservations and it turns out whoever was responsible for updating our reservation decided to just cancel it. Ms. Martinez handled our reservation as a walk in and was able to direct us to the general store where we were able to book a drift boat for the day. We paid for the rental and drove around to the back side of the store to retrieve our rental. No, it was not that easy. I handed my receipt to the gentleman and he told me to park near the trailers they have lined up near the parking lot, so that is what I did. After approximately 15 minutes, nothing is happening. I walked back over to the boat rental "shack" and the gentleman is telling me my ball hitch is to big ( mine is a 2 5/16 hitch, but I need a 2 inch ball hitch). As he is searching for a hitch, I hear him speaking with another employee asking where "P" is (I used his first initial so I don't embarrass "P"). He then tells the employee "P" is not supposed to be driving because he doesn't have a license, and he is gone, he is finished with "P" because he has told him before not to drive without a driver's license. After approximately an hour of waiting, he finds a ball hitch, hooks up my truck to the trailer and has me drive around to a covered outside fenced area. I did as he requested. I exited my vehicle and I saw the drift boat rental assigned to me. The boat was covered in dirt, there were beer cans and drink cans in the boat and water was still in the boat. He proceeds to use an empty Folgers coffee container to bale out the water, then I help him load it onto the trailer with 2 other employees. As my wife and I are driving out to were we are going to launch the boat, we start discussing the time we wasted waiting for the gentleman to find a tow hitch and prepping the boat. I decided to call Dutch John to see if I could return the boat a first thing in the morning due to the delay and due to the current time; it was approximately 1400 hours when we finally hit the road to the launch site. Oh yeah, the launch site was about an hour away, and the boat needed to be returned by 1900 hours; that simply was not going to happen. A young lady answered the phone and told us if we kept the boat past 1900 hours, we would incur a second days charge ($270.00). We said never mind, but called back 5 minutes later to rent the boat for a second day. Sounds easy enough, right? Nope. When I returned the boat on the 9th, a young man told me I was not getting my deposit back because I did not return the boat on the previous day. He told me "Dave" wanted to talk to me, so he went into the store to get Dave. A few minutes later he came back out and told me "Dave" wanted me to go into the store to talk to him. At this point I am getting very frustrated, but I complied. I walked into the store and asked for "Dave". Guess what, "Dave" was to busy to speak with me, so he sent out one of his employees. The employee was a young lady and she was very nice, courteous and respectful. I explained my "Dutch John Resort" experience with her and she told me she would go back to speak with "Dave". I don't even know if there really is a "Dave" as I have never seen or spoken with him. Anyway, she returns and cleared up THEIR confusion about the late return. I showed the young lady the charge on my card for the second day. Overall experience would be a 1, but the two ladies I dealt with were very helpful, courteous, understanding and respectful. My suggestion, rent elsewhere. Jesse & Kathy

I had seen the Terrace Motel in passing as I am a season pass holder at Dinosaur National Monument. It has always lead me to lose myself in my imagination to imagine it lit up on a sunset night in the 1950's! And even today it always appears iconic and steadfast in this stark environment. I was so excited about my trip and nerding out for an entire week with paleontology. Today my booking was canceled. When I made my arrangements I failed to mention I travel with my two small dogs. And some establishments don't accept pets. They have their rights to their policy and a good customer would accept and respect the rules of the establishment. It would be unfair to make an exception to my fellow customers and being dishonest and trying to hide my fur babies is just NOT my style. The owner is such an endearing woman. She has a kind demeanor and is an inspiration to me because she is a female owner! The grace with which she handles potentially uncomfortable situations is so smooth. In the end she gave me a full refund (even though I was culpable) and welcomed me back again when I come to Dinosaur minus the fur babies. I plan on returning because of the amazing impression I had with the way they handle undesirable situations. It must be glorious when all is well. Also the standard of cleanliness is principally important to these people. And they really care about the health and well-being of ALL. Thank you kindly.
