Mop has been my go to barbershop for over 5 years now. Some of the staff have come and gone & I try to stick with the same barber, yet I've never had a "bad" haircut here even when my regular wasn't avail. That says a lot & tells me it's a well trained crew. Not once have I had rude or impolite service. I think it's been around about 20 years? now. Locally owned, 1 location only. The appointments book up fast per day, better sooner than later to get in.... They really "MOP" up the competition in this neck of the woods.... read more

In my most recent visit, the place wasn't busy. I was immediately taken to one of the chairs. Lindsey cut my hair. She did an excellent job in applying the appropriate clippers in cutting the top and the sides and trimming certain areas. Lindsey seems to be an affable person, which made my visit satisfying. She and I had a nice talk. In addition to the hair cut, Lindsey did the wetdown and applied shampoo at the back of the place. It was the first time I received this service here. While this was occurring, I felt relaxed. Lindsey used the American Crew shampoo. It felt soothing. I purchased a bottle of the shampoo as I checked out. As she was completing my haircut, Lindsey mentioned that the laces of my low-top black Converse shoes were untied. As we walked to the wetdown and shampoo area, she looked at my untied laces again and said that I needed to tie it immediately. Once I reached the wetdown and shampoo area, I did tie my shoe. This is basically a great clips hiding under a different name. Staff is not very friendly, scheduling is disorganized (it's as if they have never been to a hair dressers before and are figuring it out for the very first time). They rarely answer their phone (if it is connected-they may have financial issues or not reliable phone service...idk? They also have the worst online appointment setting site every it might as well be survey monkey. Maybe the owner should attend some business classes, train staff to be friendly and knowledgeable, and maybe figure out how to schedule! I of course will not be back as I could just got to great clips as it is the exact same service and standards here! There are so many awesome places around here and Dublin I recommend checking there and maybe use this as an absolute last resort! read more

My husband and sons have been going to Mop for a little over a year. We had a couple of great cuts which is why we kept going back. We experienced rude customer service on one occasion but brushed it off as a bad day and visited several times. On our most recent and final visit we once again experienced poor customer service. My younger son and I arrived a few minutes early and waited several minutes for a stylist to be ready, which wasn't a big deal. My second son arrived and was admittedly 13 minutes late and they enforced their 10 minute late policy. Typically I would accept the policy for what it is as i respect an individuals time and schedule. However, not only were they not ready on time to see us for our appointment times, there wouldn't have even been another stylist available to see my second son even had he been on time. They insisted him being late would set them back when the reality was they were already behind and wouldn't have even been able to get to him yet even had he been on time. If you choose to go here, be sure to be prompt because they have no grace and clearly think their time is of the only importance. As for us, we won't be back! read more

Showed up before they closed...before 20 minutes before they closed actually, and even though their message says to be there before 20 mins til, which we were, they wouldn't serve us. One lady said, "hey you made it just in time" and the other said, "no we are closed". Nice way to follow your own policy...or not follow it rather. Definitely won't return. By the way, my tips are always reflective of services well-received. I am a good tipper and we are definitely a dying breed. Your loss. read more

I've been a customer every two weeks since they opened and it's never crossed my mind that I'd go anywhere else. In fact, my family and I recently moved and one of my stipulations was that I didn't want to be any farther away from Mop! It's not just the great people who work there. I appreciate the consistency in staff and in cuts, and have never had a complaint. What more could you ask for? read more

I would give them 5/5 stars.. But the waits are rediculous on Friday nights and Saturday. They seem to be more staffed when it's less busy, as opposed to for example right now (Friday Night) two employees versus 10 waiting customers. read more

I have had my hair cut at this business for years. I think this is a very well-run business. They are always pleasant and they always give me a great haircut. The price is reasonable for the high level of service. The shop has a modern, really tasteful design. I'd much rather come to this place than the chain places or the old barber shops around Hilliard, and with my mostly bald head, no point in a high priced salon. Huge Disappointment! I have been going to this place for 10 plus years, I must say that I only put up with the attitudes since it is only a few minutes from home. Today was the last straw! Here is what's up....... Last visit was about a month ago, long story short, a stylist waited on me. Cut my hair, cut my hair and after she was finished she said, take a look at it and let me know what you think? I looked and replied, Could you please take a little off on the right side, it appears to be a little longer. Needless to say that made her angry, defensive and proceeding to argue with me. Treating like dirt, to put it nicely. She starting causing a very embarrassing situation with other customers waiting. I asked to speak with the manager, she told me she was the OWNER! I left and probably should never went back......But for convenience....... I MADE THE MISTAKE OF GOING BACK! Arrived today, was next in line. Waiting 25 minutes, 2 hair stylist on duty. One just took a customer, the other finishing up the other customer. Thinking to myself, great this hair stylist has treated me nicely before ......(Will call her "nice hairstylist" (but not really) the other showed a lot of ATTITUDE many times before. Going back Was I ever wrong, the so called nice stylist, proceeding to take the customer in the back for 10 minutes, washed his hair ( I think), Remember I have been going to MOP for plus years, I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED IF I WANTED A WASH. Finally, she finishes up with the customer. Still thinking nothing of it, customer leaves, nice stylists goes in the back for another 10 minutes, comes out looks at computer for a while, then proceeds to go clean her station. By now the customer that the other stylists finishes and leaves. Nice Hairstylists-starts cleaning the other hair stylist's area! REALLY?????? OBVIOUSLY TRYING TO AVOID WAITING ON ME after reviewing notes in their computer. I have been BLACKLISTED! After seeing what was going on, I said nothing and walked out the door. I wasn't going to let MS. ATTITUDE wait on me, nor was I going to give them a dime more of my money. It appears their conniving business practices is worth far more than my GREEN, I have always tipped 25% of the bill! Unbelievable! read more

I began patronizing this establishment at the recommendation of a friend. I was pleased with the service I received regarding the haircut. Although I was pleased with the service I received, I wasn't terribly find of the attitude of the stylists; however, I was willing to put aside the attitude for a decent haircut. This evening, I checked their operating hours prior to driving to the location, which is not at all convenient to me. I arrived 20 minutes before their stated closing time. The door was unlocked, lights on and two 'stylists' we're sitting there without customers, doing nothing. I was told that they stop taking clients at 7:30. If this is the case, fine, but clearly state your practice for the public to see. Had I know this, I wouldn't have made the 30 minute drive after my working day to get there. I have a very clear understanding of retail business and how to respectfully treat clients; clearly MOP does not. The employees were less than friendly. I will certainly NEVER patronize this business again. There are far better and far less pretentious barbers in Columbus. read more

I have four boys and they do not love to get hair cuts. My son expressed to Shannon he wanted his hair short, it was short. I was not upset at all and truth be told he went home & shaved his head. Took my son in to get his haircut prior to the first day of school. I was worried when the first thing I hear when I walk in was a mom telling the "stylist" it's too short ...!! Way too short ... !! She just looked at the mom until said mom apologized and said its fine it will grow back . My wife had always told me that the people weren't very personable there but now I know what she means . We will not be back!!!!! Hair may grow back but those fears of a bad hair for my sons first day of school will live with me forever !!! If they stopped talking to one another about the evening before and concentrated on haircuts , it may be ok . read more
