Whenever I travel, I try to find and support a local cigar store. I drove over to Morehead from Emerald Isle. This store is in a small strip mall with a fair amount of available parking. I went in and the guy working there(owner?) was nice and offered assistance. They have a fairly large walk in humidor which was nice and some sample packs in the area when you first walk in. There was an indoor smoking area but it appeared to be fairly small, which didn't matter to me this time since I was just picking some cigars up to go. I would go back if I was in the area. The humidor was well stocked, lots of different brands and the prices were reasonable on the cigars I looked at. read more

Morehead City Cigar is the only Game in town but you'll need no other. The owner is a Southern Gentleman that offers assistance, raises from his smoke upon your entering then leaves you to your own accord as you desire. The Humidor offers a large selection of some of the Best name brand sticks available and as can be seen, the inventory rolls out so you'll be hard pressed to find a stale stick here. He's constantly restocking in all price points, brands and desires. I'm in at a few times a week enjoy the conversation and experience. A nice lounge is available if you desire to sit and partake as well as a good selection of pipe tobacco and accessories. As a visitor to Atlantic Beach several times a year for the past 25, I was surprised to notice a new (to me) cigar shop, Morehead City Cigar, on the way into town. I stopped by today to get a can of butane lighter fuel and was very surprised to find a full-service cigar store and lounge. Bill greeted me from the walk-in humidor and asked if he could help me find anything. I wasn't planning on purchasing any sticks because I brought a bunch with me from home, but I couldn't resist checking out his selection. I didn't have great expectations, since most tobacconists in the area have a really lame selection, but I was pleasantly surprised with the abundance and quality of their stock. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I started checking out their prices. My home store in the Chicago area is extremely competitive with internet retailers and MCC's prices were right in line with what I am used to. Given what I saw, I couldn't resist purchasing a Zino Z Class, a Rocky Patel Edge Lite and an Oliva Serie V Melanio perfecto for some beach smoking. There is a nice lounge in the main area of the store and a separate lounge with comfortable couches and chairs and big screen TV off to the side. I will definitely be back there to hang out when the weather doesn't cooperate with outside smoking. I'm very impressed with this Montecristo-branded cigar store and will definitely be back for my Crystal Coast cigar purchases. read more

Great shop, reasonable prices, and an excellent selection of premium handmade cigars. Went looking for a Xikar torch and was not upsold, I was informed of the issues customers have had with the Xikar brand and was given other options. Great experience and will definitely return for more great cigars and customer service, lounge was exceptional as well. I'm not a big fan of lounges but this shop was on point! Large leather chairs, table top lighters and cutters, this is a nice shop to by a few sticks and enjoy your smokes! read more
