My son was planning to do his 25th birthday celebration in Coachella. Since the cartoon SpongeBob came out in 1999 on his actual birthday, he wanted a Spongebod themed 25th birthday party! Because I live in Northern California, I wanted to surprise him and his group of friends with a special delivered dessert. I looked at different bakeries in the area and I called Moreno's, hoping to find what I was looking for! I was so happy to be connected with Gilbert who did a wonderful job of helping me figure out what I should do for my son's special event! He suggested we do a cake and he would hand decorate the special SpongeBob theme that my son wanted. We decided on a marble cake with Oreo cookie filling, and vanilla cream cheese frosting. We also decided to do some Decorated SpongeBob. Sugar, cookies, and chocolate chip cookies! One of the most special things about this experience was Gilbert generously offerer to deliver the cookies in the morning ( for a delicious snack)and then he returned in the evening to deliver the cake. Gilbert went above and beyond to make sure my son felt special and were satisfied and happy customers. I will attach some photos of the cake so you can see how fabulously it was decorated. I would like to also add that my son said that the cake was beyond excellent and the cookies were so yummy! Thank you so much Gilbert and Moreno's bakery for such a wonderful experience for me and my son!

Had a last minute order for a heart shaped cake and Gilberto delivered. He gave me several options for cake sizes and even came up with some quick topping designs. He recommended several fillings and I went with the raspberry option. He was also kind enough to deliver the cake the next day. Absolutely fantastic experience. I needed a 50th birthday cake made for my brother-in-law's birthday and came across Moreno's bakery on yelp. Gilbert was so easy to work with - extremely responsive and helpful. He made an amazing cake for me with just a few days notice, and it was delicious! I'm so happy I came across Moreno's Bakery. I called Gilbert for a last minute cake request and he was friendly, accommodating and very professional. I sent him a design and he got to work on it. He even made it extra special by adding sugar pearls and little florals to replicate a cake I sent over as an example. He was kind enough to even deliver the cake since we were nearby. We got the carrot cake and it's delicious!! I'm very picky when it comes to cakes, but he went above and beyond for this. The sweetness level was perfect (it's not too sweet). Also, he hand drew the picture which came out gorgeous. Thank you so much Gilbert. I'll definitely let my friends know about your bakery. read more

I called in desperate need of a last minute birthday cake for a friend and they seriously delivered. Not only was the cake ready in less than 24 hours, it was absolutely delicious. They added the special banana filling I asked for, decorated the cake to perfection and the actual cake was so fluffy and soft. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in town. Then turned back around to what he was doing. What? GO? I don't know what his intent was because I'm not a mind reader, but it felt rude and dismissive. His facial expression was as though he was busy and or annoyed. I was so surprised at his response in such an otherwise pleasant environment. I'm pretty tolerant of grumpy people (you know, sometimes there's a reason) but this just felt really icky -it was our intended destination after a hot drive from Phoenix and it did not sit well with us. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Moreno's Bakery to plan a surprise birthday cake for my best friend. Gilbert is one the most talented and kindest bakers I have ever encountered. When I said my friend loves Shrek, he immediately started brainstorming ideas with me and offered to deliver the cake at no additional cost! The final product not only looked amazing but tasted amazing as well. One of the highlights of our birthday trip and definitely worth the price of his artistry. Thanks again Gilbert! read more
