Quality has declined This is sad because I used to love their sandwiches and pastries. I ordered the pesto club and tuna and both taste like sandwiches from Goody's. Edible, but lacked the quality and fresh taste they used to have. Bread was soggy and construction was sloppy. The baked goods were the same. Also a shame because they used to have such good baked goods. Got a brownie tasted like a 7/11 brownie and a canolli my husband said tasted store bought. Onion rings are still good though. Also, this is a restaurant that now starts adding a 5% service fee which is lame considering they also raised the menu prices. The burden of paying their employees more should fall on the owners not the consumer. Honestly, I was just looking for a good excuse to stop going to TKB since they support Border Patrol which is crazy in this area, but whatever, go off. TLDR this restaurant is not what it used to be. The food and sandwiches at TKB Bakery are genuinely good, which is why I've continued to come back. Unfortunately, the customer service I've experienced from one of the owners has been extremely disappointing. On my first visit, I stood at the bakery counter waiting to purchase desserts to take to a dinner party. He was standing there, saw me waiting, and simply walked away. Eventually, he came back only to tell me that someone else would be with me shortly, rather than helping me himself. That same visit, we were also waiting for a food order. When it was ready, despite knowing we were standing right there waiting for it, he placed the bag on the counter rather than simply handing it to us. I thought maybe I was reading too much into it, so I let it go. Today, I had almost the exact same experience. He asked for my name, picked up my order, and as I reached my hand out to take the bag from him, he looked at me and deliberately placed it on the counter instead. He was also on his earpiece having a phone conversation throughout the interaction. I understand that placing a bag on a counter may seem insignificant to some people, but when it happens repeatedly--along with being ignored while waiting for service--it comes across as dismissive and rude. Basic courtesy and acknowledging your customers goes a long way, especially when you're an owner. It's unfortunate because the food is very good, but good food shouldn't come at the expense of good customer service. read more

The sandwiches here are absolutely delicious! We have tried a variety of them and all of them are very good. Prices and portions are generous and the staff here is very friendly and hard-working. Extremely large space with plenty of indoor seating as well as plenty of free parking. Ideal on a hot day, this is the perfect place to cool off and eat with the family. They have a nice bakery as well. You can pre-order for pick up or order there. They are always very fast and efficient. The sandwiches were tasty with LOTS of meat. TKB does NOT skimp. Today we arrived and were seated outside because we had our dogs. It was well after the lunch rush but it was pleasantly busy. Employees were friendly and checking on patrons, serving food and tending to empty tables. We had been waiting awhile, so I carried our number in with me and made note of the numbers they were delivering... which were higher numbers than ours, but also very random. I went to the cash register and asked the employee if they called the numbers in order. She answered politely that no they didn't. I then mentioned we were sitting outside and asked if I should wait inside for my order so they wouldn't have trouble finding us. We were not in a hurry and were trying to make it easy on the hardworking employees....and bonus that it was cool inside *At that point, a man who I perceived was a manager or maybe even the owner , turned to me from behind the counter, handed me a bag and said " Here Ma'am , GO!" Then turned back around to what he was doing. What? GO? I don't know what his intent was because I'm not a mind reader, but it felt rude and dismissive. His facial expression was as though he was busy and or annoyed. I was so surprised at his response in such an otherwise pleasant environment. Solid sandwich shop to stop by while on the way to coachella! It doesn't look like much on the outside but there's plenty of parking and seating inside. Ordered the Trump Card (not fan of the name) but it's their most popular and I now understand why. While ordering, the cashier asked if I would like to split the sandwich and I said yes to split with my friend and it came out on two separate plate trays. The sandwich had turkey, salami, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and avocado with jalapeño focaccia bread. They also added a sliced picked and jalapeño chips on the side to each portion. Event split in half, the portion was pretty big but I'm glad it was bc the cost of the sandwich is $18 so it better have been able to feed two people lol The sandwich was really good and flavorful, can get messy towards the end. A staff member will bring your food to you - Both times I've been here have been during the lunch hour, so there's always a long line. I had seen all the Yelp reviews of this spot, including being ranked #1 in the NATION a few years back. I decided to stop on my way home from LA, and get some lunch. Honestly, wish I hadn't................ I got in line, not too busy, maybe 8 people in front of me. I ordered the Sexy Italian, minus olives and mayo. That, and a bag of chips was $23.00. Good lord! Better be good, right? How was it, you ask? Shitty! First of all, I took a seat in the room with the huge table behind the drinks. There was shit all over the table...napkins, crumbs, mustard stains etc. Wipe that shit down, man, seriously! Anyways.....I got my sandwich fairly quick. First thing I noticed was that it looked straight up like Kirkland/Costco ham on the sandwich. Nothing wrong with Kirkland ham, I buy it and eat it all the time, but for an Italian sandwich that costs $18 by itself, step up the meat game, man! The salami was cut pretty thick too and had a very overpowering smoke flavor. It was too saucy with the pesto and mustard and hard to eat. The kicker was the bread. It was a "parmesan roll", but it looked and tasted almost underbaked. It was really thin too! Subways Italian herb and cheese bread is way better, honestly. I bit in and was immediately disappointed. The quality of meat was bad, the bread was crappy, the produce was skimp, plus it was messy as a mofo. I ate half of the sandwich, and tried to take another bite of the second half, and I couldn't do it. Threw it away. Waste of $23.00. At least the Salt and Vinegar chips I picked out were good, lol! I've been coming to this place for years. It's about time I leave a review. Homemade bread... what else could you ask for. My go to is the Buffalo soldier, an absolutely fantastic sandwich. I drive 100+ miles for a clinic down the street for work occasionally and coming here is the highlight of the day. They recently increased the thickness of the bacon in the sandwich... freaking epic! The building is inconspicuous but look for the TKB logo into what looks like an office building but is the best sandwich deli and bakery in the desert and quite arguably the States. The space is bright and has good vibes throughout. It's hard to walk by the bakery counter first on your way to the deli line, everything looks so amazing! The deli line moves fast, they're quite efficient and friendly at the register. Most ordered sandwich is the Trump Card, but today I opted for the Mexican Marilyn Monroe on jalapeño focaccia (you have your choice between jalapeño focaccia or cranberry focaccia). The sandwich is unique with its freshly made chicken salad topped with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and a chipotle aioli. Pure perfection though it can get a bit messy (get extra napkins). Served with fresh dill pickle slice. I shared my sandwich with my BFF who shared her Trump Card, pretty tasty too! And we had fried pickles (really goo The team are seem happy to be there, smiling over the counter as they make sandwiches. I'd be happy and proud of myself if I was cranking out the best sandwiches around! I was really not expecting much at all but they knocked it out of the ballpark with these curds. Salty, chewy, and perfectly crisp. I don't even care that they felt like something you get from a Sysco stockiest, they were very very good. Potato Salad: 3.5/5 My two biggest attractions to this side were the cilantro and the absence of celery. I was hoping for something very flavorful but it ended up being a potato salad with some green onions (if you don't like green onions you might want to avoid because there are some substantial chunks of it in here). Chairs at a restaurant should support diners, not audition for a lawsuit. The Food (if you can call it that): The sandwiches? Below gas station fare. I've had fresher, better-balanced sandwiches in the shadow of a Chevron bathroom. At least at a gas station, you know what you're getting. Here, they sell you mediocrity with a side of arrogance. We complained. The owner apologized -- which was nice -- but here's the thing: an apology doesn't fix a chair, a wrong order, missing food, or insult sandwiches. A refund would have been the bare minimum. Instead, we were left chewing on regret. This place isn't a bakery, it's a crime scene with bread. Yelp's "best" in 2018? Yeah, so were fidget spinners. The chairs collapse faster than the quality of the sandwiches. TKB is living proof that hype ages like milk. The food was trash, the service worse, and the furniture dangerous. My father almost died, I didn't finish my food, and if you want a real sandwich, go to La Sandwicherie in Miami or Philippe's the Original in L.A. It was hard to rate this place! It's obviously a popular place with patrons constantly going in. I was traveling from Arizona to Northern California and needed a bite to eat. Pictures on Yelp of the Reuben sandwiches looked appealing; so that's what I went for, even though the pastrami sandwich looked good too. The sandwich looked good and I couldn't wait for my first bite. I decided to eat outside the car and I'm glad I did. I took my first bite and juices started dripping onto the ground. I tasted a lot of the sauerkraut and little of the pastrami. Everything else drowned out the pastrami. I opened the sandwich and there wasn't really a lot of pastrami. Looking at the sandwich from the front gave the illusion there was a lot of meat, but in reality very little meat. I was really disappointed. Not only was there very little meat, but I didn't think the quality was there either, not at that price point anyways. You can't miss the billboards for this place if you are on the 10 traveling anywhere near Indio or Palm Springs. Very clean inside with a light bright atmosphere. Service is fast and friendly. Tried the original smash burger with their chipotle sauce.. it was really good.. French fries are crispy old school type and I say yes order some. Their drink station has a nice variety of teas, soda pop and lots of ice. Parking is plentiful and just a short walk to the front door. Took a star off for bringing a political name into the menu.. never good business to alienate half of a population but it's freedom of choice. read more

They stack them up with so much that sharing is almost a must. We also ordered a chocolate molten cake, a slice of chocolate cake and baklava for a friend. TKB has been my favorite sandwich spot for years, at least since 2017. I haven't been since the pandemic and was so happy to come back, and find a bright, clean and large new location (or new to me)! I ordered the Trump Card and it didn't disappoint. They certainly load this one up, so you'd better come hungry or plan to share! I love the flavors of the salami, pepper jack and chipotle sauce in this sandwich. The jalapeño focaccia bread is soft and fluffy but doesn't fall apart despite the size, though this definitely isn't something to try to eat on the road. My boyfriend got the crispy chicken sandwich and said it's the best he's ever had. We also grabbed a lemon bar from the bakery and it was delicious; there were many other tasty options to choose from! We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was relatively busy, but the wait after ordering was not long (maybe 5-10 minutes). We tried for the first time the bacon ranch crispy sandwich.. it was not bad but I probably would not try again. It just personally wasn't for me. My hubby also got the Jalapeño poppers (not pictured), Really good, huge poppers and their ranch just pairs so well with them! I would def get these again, recommend. Im in town for a family reunion. After several days of only eating rice and meat, my cousins and I decided we needed some veggies in our life. This place was not to far from the resort and it had plenty of good reviews. Walking in, the place is huge. They have tons of seats, and can accommodate bigger groups. They have a big selection of bottled and canned drinks to choose from, or fountain soda, and tea options. The bakery serves coffee/espresso and has a really pretty showcase full of all the desserts. We all decided on a few different desserts to share. We each ordered our own sandwich, we also ordered fried cheese curds, jalapeño poppers, and onion rings. All were pretty good. I ordered the OG Pastrami based on other reviews, and it was a good decision. The group seemed to like all their sandwiches. When we got to dessert, we found that most of them were too sweet, but out of all of them the lemon bar was the best one. read more

So we had heard about TKB from a snowbird standing with us at the protest in Indio a few weeks ago she comes all the way out here to spend the winter from a very cold place and she loves to go to TKB often because everything is so delicious. Today we had a chance to go out for lunch and we found this beautiful building which is just as great outside where they have seating and benches and a garden as it is inside. The staff were just incredibly helpful with information because we had a lot of questions. It was a little hard to read the menu from a distance, but they do have one laminated menu at the front desk, where you order that you can look at while you're checking out the food. Everything looks so delicious. I thought it would be difficult to choose, but I settled on a buffalo chicken sandwich. It has onions, tomatoes, chicken, provolone, lettuce, and the most delicious ciabatta fresh with a generous serving of jalapeños baked into it. This is probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life and I'm 76 years old. My husband ordered the pastrami sandwich and he really enjoyed it. He also liked his bread. We picked up some brownies at the counter where you ordered because we did not get tempted to go to the bakery counter as we would have filled up the car for sure. I'm sure every single meal here is just amazing. They have been here a long time and they obviously have perfected the art of wonderful customer service. We plan to come back for breakfast, the bakery counter, coffee, and more of those outstanding sandwiches. My husband uses a wheelchair to get around if he's a little bit tired because he had had a stroke. This place is very easy to enter. Quick, efficient, and one of the cleanest places that I have seen. Bathrooms were absolutely spotless. We 6 got a variety of sweets and all were excellent. Cute little (reusable) plastic buckets of mini chocolate chip cookies for the kids were a big hit, and they didn't spare the chocolate chips. Imagine that....... Something for kids that was actually so good, the adults would eat them! The Lemon Bllueberry Bar was absolutely STUFFED with fresh blueberries--not just sauce and few berries. Fruit tarts were a big hit, brimming with fresh fruit. Delicious hand made coffee drinks. Handmade smoothies with real fruit for the little ones. I can only imagine how great the sandwiches and smash burgers are. Several people sat near us as they were waiting for orders. One guy said he is there almost every day. I can see why! read more
