Overall there was poor communication concerning appointment length, a critical problem with, and seeming indifference to pain management during treatment by Dr. Patel. Also, a dental assistant that was apparently not taught the importance of not pinching, or needlessly inflicting pain, or invading personal space made things a whole lot worse. There were incidents of her leaning on me in a manner that was exceedingly uncomfortable and didn't seem to be necessary for the work that she was doing. I was booked for a 1 hour appointment, but after well over an hour, I was informed that the appointment length was actually 4 hours. I had planned on an hour in the afternoon, and only had prescription sunglasses with me, meaning that the long drive home after dark would have to done be wearing darkly tinted sunglasses. By the time I learned this, there was no way to stop the work. Add all of these things in with ptsd, and this was by far the most traumatic medical appointment I have ever endured. The doctor told me that she would request tranquilizers for the next visit, and would reschedule after getting the proper authorization through the VA. I had already waited 6 months for this appointment, so when I didn't hear back, I called the office to check on the appointment. Only then was I informed that because of my PTSD, Dr. Patel had decided that she didn't want to work with me again. While I understood, and the feeling was absolutely mutual, her not communicating this to me at the time caused further frustration and unnecessary delays in receiving proper care. In fact, 7 months later I am still waiting for a new dentist to be approved because of Dr. Patel's unethical delay in informing me of her decision. It would have been best if she had had the ethics and professionalism to communicate this decision to me in a forthright manner that wouldn't have unnecessarily delayed treatment. If you have another option for dental care, take it.

This ain't my first rodeo and this time it's another $62.20. That's a total of $91.80 out of pocket for a couple drops of cement plus the $50.20 the insurance paid. I could have purchased "dental crown cement" on Amazon and done it myself for under $20. They took an x-ray for a charge of $39, why? It was as obvious as the nose on my face what was needed. Did you need an x-ray to see my nose? Then the charge of $99 for the "oral exam" to look inside my mouth and see the crown I brought in was missing? Perhaps that was for the probe the dentist poked into my tooth 3 or 4 times to see if it was still there and "not decayed"? Guess what, it was still there and not decayed! Last, and most costly, was the $148 charge for those 3-4 drops of cement. SERIOUSLY???? and then the invoice has the gall to state "Writeoff: $144.00" to zero out the original total charge of $286.00. Really, $286 bucks for 15 minutes in the chair, a needless x-ray, 30 seconds to probe the tooth "for decay" and a few drops of cement? NO, I do not recommend Twin Rivers, unless you like feeling misled and ripped off and enjoy paying unexpected additional invoices! I did give them a 1 of 5 rating rather than a zero, simply because the were able to schedule me in that day. But the additional, unexpected expense negated any other possitive in the experience.

He sent me a bill for $345.00 for pulling a good tooth, didn't use my insurance. I was devastated when he pulled that tooth. I am moving back to Denver and I will be taking him to court.
