I was referred by another attorney to choose Morgan & Morgan for my auto accident claim. At first, I felt like I had made a great choice because the intake worker, Heather, provided excellent customer service and made me feel very welcomed. Unfortunately, my experience changed after that. I went through two different sets of attorneys and 3 case managers , and I eventually had to file a complaint because of the lack of communication. I believe attorneys and case managers should respond to their clients within a reasonable amount of time. Having my attorney barely contact me was extremely stressful, especially when I had important questions and concerns that I felt were not being addressed. At times, I felt like I had to manage my own case by making sure information and documents were uploaded on time and following up on things that I believed should have been handled for me. I was also referred to a physician and physical therapy office, and unfortunately, that experience involved poor communication and management as well. There were times when I felt like I was traveling to the office more to speak with someone than I was actually receiving treatment. This was especially frustrating because I was already dealing with significant pain from my auto accident. Overall, this was a very stressful experience, but it was also a learning experience. I am not saying that everyone at the firm provides poor service. However, the particular staff and professionals assigned to my case left me feeling disappointed, and I believe there are several things that need to be improved. Looking back, I wish I had done more research and taken more time to find the right attorney and legal team before choosing my first law firm. I sincerely hope I never have to go through an experience like this again. I am submitting this complaint regarding the handling of my personal injury case by Morgan & Morgan. My primary concerns are the lack of communication, failure to provide timely updates, apparent lack of review of my medical records, and the ongoing delay in distributing my settlement funds. After Morgan & Morgan accepted my case, I consistently found myself having to initiate contact in order to obtain updates or move the case forward. Throughout the representation, phone calls, voicemails, and emails frequently went unanswered, often requiring multiple follow-up attempts before receiving any response. After I completed medical treatment, communication became even more limited. At one point, I was informed by my attorney that I was not injured. This statement was surprising given the medical treatment I had undergone and the ongoing pain I continued to experience. The statement led me to question whether my medical records and treatment history had been thoroughly reviewed before that conclusion was reached. When I challenged that assessment and explained that I remained in pain, I was told the matter would be reviewed and that I would receive a return call within a few hours. That call did not occur, and I did not receive meaningful follow-up until several days later despite repeated attempts to contact the firm. The lack of responsiveness became so concerning that I ultimately sent a written request asking Morgan & Morgan to cease representing me. Only after that request did communication resume. I was later asked to sign a demand package and was informed that the insurance company generally had 30 days to respond. When that period expired, I received no proactive update from the firm regarding the status of my claim. Once again, I was required to make multiple calls and send multiple emails before receiving any information. I was eventually informed that my claim had been denied due to an alleged administrative mix-up. Following additional requests for action, I was informed that a lawsuit would be filed. However, shortly thereafter, I was advised that the matter had settled. Despite the settlement being reached, communication again became inconsistent and difficult. More than three weeks after settlement, I was informed that the firm was still waiting for an itemized bill from my medical provider. Concerned about the delay, I personally contacted the clinic and obtained the requested documentation within 48 hours. I then provided the documentation directly to Morgan & Morgan. Despite receiving the requested documents, I was unable to obtain a clear timeline regarding the release of my settlement funds. When I asked when I could expect payment, I was informed that no estimated disbursement date could be provided. At this point, the insurance company has settled the claim, attorney fees have been addressed, and medical providers have received payment. However, I, the injured client, have still not received my portion of the settlement proceeds. The pattern throughout this representation has been a lack of communication, delayed responses, failure to provide status updates, and the burden being placed on me to repeatedly follow up in order to obtain information about my own case. As a client, I expected timely communication, reasonable diligence, and transparency regarding the handling of my claim. I respectfully request a review of the firm's handling of this matter, including: 1. The failure to maintain regular communication and provide timely responses to client inquiries. 2. The apparent failure to adequately review and assess my medical records before conclusions were communicated regarding my injuries. 3. The repeated delays that required me to personally obtain documents necessary to move the case forward. 4. The lack of transparency regarding settlement processing and disbursement timelines. 5. The continued delay in releasing my settlement funds despite settlement having been finalized. I am requesting immediate clarification regarding the status of my settlement proceeds and prompt disbursement of any funds owed to me. Do not use them for Social Security disability cases."WOULD NOT RECOMMEND" I hired them to handle my disability claim and have not communicated with my case developer since the beginning. They never provide updates, and when I call for information, they are never available. I received a denial letter a couple of weeks ago--for the second time. I've been trying to reach my case developer for over two weeks with no response. I escalated my concerns to their client relationship team and am still awaiting a response. I am extremely annoyed and frustrated. I wish I could start over with a different law firm. I have already invested over two years in this case, and I can't afford to wait another two more years. I hired them when I had a car accident. They sent me to their choice of doctors and when I went to see them, the first thing he said was "I am a legal real doctor." I should have known better but I was going on the advice that Morgan and Morgan gave me. They won my case and got $25,000 but after their fees and the doctor they recommended, they sent me a check for $2000!! Thieves are what I found out!! I called another Attorney (Brendan Connely) and he took my case without any issues. Glad I found him, he won my case (full disability) and got me $59,000 in back pay. My daughter, a 9 year old girl with Autism was recently injured during PE at school. On Thursday, Jan 30, 2025 she fell in the CONCRETE parking lot where here school has a quardoned off area where the K-5 students conduct both their outdoor PE classes and Recess. The school has no designated safe area (grass or cushioned) in which to play in, and I know that my child's injury is likely not the 1st injury as a result of the school's administrations failure to properly provide and/or construct and adequately safe space for its children to play in. So i Googled (Florida Law Firms that Sue School Districts) and Morgan & Morgan appeared at the top of the search. I briefly reviewed their website and it clearly stated that facility neglect was one of the reasons it took cases in lawsuits against school districts. So i called them. But did i get a lawyer on the phone - NOPE, ABSOLUTELY NOT. Instead i got 1st a call center that after asking me a few questions teansferred me to a "Consultant" in Nevada that called me back from a Massachusetts phone number, even though I live in Florida. Then after asking me a few more questions, this "consultant" informed me that it wasnt a case Morgan & Morgan would even pursue - despite their website deliberately lust that it is a case they typically handle. I've lived in Florida for over 6 years since being medically retired from the US Army and put on 100% Disability from the VA. There hasn't been a single days in those 6+ years that i haven't heard at least 20 commercials with John Morgan himself stating how his Army of lawyers loves fighting for the little guy, the "Nobody's", against the big insurance companies or in my case a government enirity, the public school system. I contacted them with information regarding a memory Care facility where my mother lives that I visit every two weeks send product to assist in her care. When I found out through a phone call that they had lost my mother found her behind bushes in their courtyard they wouldn't tell me how long she had been missing they told me it was no injuries here two weeks later she's in the hospital with an infection due to a gaping wound on her leg so they lied she's been in and out of the hospital for UTIs since she has been in the facility, I have complained ad nauseam about dehydration on her skin and in her eye area. She said diarrhea for over 2 years! She is currently in the hospital with the infection that set in from the wound that I was told didn't exist! So after sitting in the hospital for hours on end yesterday just to get her into a room, this morning I called Morgan & Morgan. The decline the case! My mother's will being and mental decline is at risk with every infection and there's been a long list of infection! They just shot me down without even checking into the facility which is beautiful and fresh but is apparently not administering the care and lying to family members about the patience status! I should have never listened to my friend who referred them to me. I had absolutely no coaching at all. Then the lawyer, Westley, laughed at the end and said "Hahah, you didn't want to go any lower, Haha." He said that to the other lawyer on the monitor. The monitor was not off. Your commercials do not match what happened to me at all. And I got robbed because the lawyer didn't want to help. My gait is off. I can't use my left leg to take first step because I can't trust it. The pins and plate and screws hurt. Very sad and angry experience. Westley called back immediately because I wrote a review and he said, "I'm very sorry about this." Update: I received a private message on December 12, 2023 saying that my mom's case has been escalated and my mom received a phone call within 3 days from the same attorney who left us waiting by the phone for a scheduled calls on multiple occasions (again, he didn't even bother to notify us that he was not going to attend). My mom was very excited but a little concerned when he said he would need time to go through all the paperwork my mom dropped off at his office (we're talking months ago). That to me that my mom's case was not a priority. He told my mom that she would hear from him by the end of next week (this is back in December) and she is still hoping to hear from him and we're near the end of January. I replied to the private message I received on Yelp on December 26, 2023 that this is another case of a rep from Morgan & Morgan giving their WORD that they will call my mom by end of next week and AGAIN, they did not keep their word. You have three days after agreeing to be represented by them to fire them free of charge. They are very attentive for those three days. Once the three days have passed, you will be ghosted. Numbers provided for contacting them "any time" are never answered by anything other than an answering machine. Calls are never returned. No specific information about your case will ever be provided. Emails sent asking for status, or what to expect, or a tentative timeline, or ANYTHING AT ALL will be ignored. You will, occasionally, receive a response of "your documents have been received and filed" if you are extremely lucky. BEWARE: Normal attorney practice is to take 33 and 1/3 of the settlement received. They will take much, MUCH, more according to other reviewers. Check the Better Business Bureau complaints. So we just got bills, from the hospital, and one bill came from collections for Florida blue, for over $5000, and another hospital bill for over $3000. I have been in contact with both collections and hospital, trying to see what we can do. I called Morgan & Morgan to file a complaint about the lawyers and spoke to a Jennifer (if I remember correctly) she was rude and contacted herself, after I told her what was going on, she told me that they can only go by what the deductible is from the other party, first I said hardly no one has more than $10000 as a deductible and then I told her I knew people that got more from an acct that wasn't as bad and got a lot more, she contradicted herself saying that some people will get more, how does that happen, I have heard people get up to 200,000. So what does it depend on. On the commercials for Morgan & Morgan they say they are for the people and they are not they wiped there hands and when they close a case they will not speak to you again. The one thing is that the collections company when I called them to see what can be done said that she spoke to the lawyer that handled our case and I don't think it went very well because the collections agent closed our case and wiped our debt, but the way she said that to me gave me the impression that the conversation was not a good outcome and she stood by our side. I am still in the process to talk to the hospital now. In my last review a Tariq reached out saying sorry for the experience as we drove to ensure their clients have a great experience and to call him. Well why am I gonna call him if I will probably get the same response from the complaint department that's worth 0. I could have done what they did and got the $10000. They say they are for the people but they pick and choose who they want to help. Will never recommend them to no one. I see that the positive reviews are getting answered from the Owners and the negative reviews are being answered by Tariq. They total what the settlement will be then spend what they figure as "your share" on fees, medical and all other costs to win and they make $ in many cases leave the victim with nothing or in debt. I read so many Morgan & Morgan cases handled in this manner. Beware of the "LIFE CARE PLAN" scam, they use it for max settlement at YOUR expense, it can cost you $5000 - $50,000+ so they win...not you. It is not about the work they do but for me it is about how much they "WILL" bill you for. Off the top 40 percent to M&M but that does not include the lawyers M&M hire for you in your area. You will pay for them also. For every deposition for every call, you will be billed. They will also hold a percentage of your settlement for 90 days, stating a check will get cut after the 90 day period if no other bills come through. You will not ever see that portion. When it was all said and done between everyone I received less thank 20 percent. Use a local lawyer so you will not be paying for doubles. read more
