I tried a 'build your own wine flight' and chose a white, rose, and red option to get a little taste of the many wines offered. I usually like reds best but my fav in the group was the Marry Me white and I bought a bottle to take home. My aunt wanted to go wine tasting on Monday. Luckily this winery was open from 5-8pm. We drove into this residential driveway next to a vineyard. We see 2 barns, one was the tasting room and the other one was storage. Tasting room is cute, the gal helped us order the flights. She gave us a stopper, flip it to red, that means we are ready to order. The patio seats are pretty also, grape vineyard is growing above on the trellas. We grabbed a charcuterie board from the fridge. They are now making and serving vodka, rum, and whiskey. They're able to mix cocktails and pour shots (flights) as well. read more

This is one of our favorite wineries in Minnesota. A little bit of a trek from the Twin Cities, but the atmosphere and wines are totally worth it. The wine tasting is conducted in a refurbished barn which gives the whole experience a wonderfully rustic and relaxing space. They have a good list of wines including mainstays like Cabs and Blancs but also local and unique choices such as Frontenac Gris or blackberry wine. There is a great spectrum th choose from - sweet and dry, reds and whites. They also have a tasty menu of food to pair with their wines. The flatbreads are really tasty but even their basic cheese or meat plates make a great accompaniment. When the weather is nice outside, they have a great outdoor space that can be utilized by any party size. We especially like coming to this place on cooler nights to make use of the bonfire or outdoor gas fire pit. Nothing beats drinking a good cab while smelling like a campfire. read more

We got a reservation for a globe outside.. which included 4 bottles of wine and 4 crowlers. AMAZING! The little heaters kept it semi-warm... but we brought blankets to sit on, and keep us toasty! The globe has a zipper, like a tent to let yourself in/out. The picnic tables were great, and we played cards, ate snacks and lovely time! There were also fire pits - so bring some marshmallows?? A lot of my friends were so jealous that we found such a great place for a wonderfully socially distanced evening! We were too late for food, so they let us bring in our own snacks. Of course we had a lovely charcuterie board... which complimented the wine very well! And speaking of the wine - it was really good! Many times, the MN wines just don't do it for me. We had 2 reds and 2 whites. They were all 4 really delicious! You will NOT be disappointed! read more

This winery is in New Prague. It is the home and Vinyard of a cute family that also loves dogs. You will see their dogs roaming the property and they make their selves happy in many places. The house dogs might hop up in your lap to say hello by the fire. They welcome dogs there and the wibe is good here. The sit down area is cute. Came in here today because we had a Groupon. I was pleasantly surprised at the entire property. The owner waited on us and gave us the winetasting and was very pleasant. This is a very quaint property in the middle of the country. Even in the winter the place is magnificent. In the summers they host weddings and events. Shocking that I had not heard of this winery until I sampled some of their products at a tasting in Lakeville this past Thursday. We decided to make a spur of the moment trip down the road to check it out this afternoon. Glad we took a chance Its a nice spot on a quiet road that seems closer to Heidelberg than New Prague. There is a nice entry down a dirt road underneath a canopy of trees on both sides. There is a good amount of parking in front of the tasting room and a lot more in the lot out back. You pass the event space first and then come to the tasting room in the red barn. The tasting room has a good number of tables and a nice bar in a room with lots of wood accents. There are also picnic tables set up outside along the back wall of the tasting room and plenty of vines for additional decor. Extra points for the solar panels on the roof of the event space. Prices for tasting are $1 for each one ounce pour and up to $4 will be refunded with the purchase of a bottle. There is also a food menu of the usual suspects that pair well with wine. Its a good 30-40 minute drive from the south Metro which isn't bad particularly now that apple picking season is coming quickly (there are at least a couple of good orchards in the vicinity) so you can make an afternoon of it. Definitely worth the trip if you are reasonably close. The lady pouring today was nice and tolerated my jokes so kudos to her. read more

Spent our lunch time on a Sunday here with a friend of mine. Enjoyed three wine tastings for only $3.50, and then helped myself to a full glass of wine while enjoying flatbread pizza. Loved the dogs on the property, and Riley quickly became friends with us and enjoyed my crusts. This was a great little road trip on a summer afternoon. The winery has a great set-up with a tasting room right next door to their event center. The tasting room is in a barn and has a bar with stools and several other round tables and hi-top tables where groups can congregate and share a good glass of wine. From the bar, the view through the windows out back are the vines, as well the windows were framed by the vines which was quite picturesque. I tried this winery's wine at a wine tasting the other night which is what spurred our impromptu venture to check out the actual place. One of their wines the Cranberry Burst received the best wine nomination award, and I'm happy to say I was one of the people that voted for it. It's tart and sweet, just like cranberry juice. The only thing is, you might quickly drink more than you realize given how good it is. Given that I'd tried several of their wines last week, I tried new ones today. A wine tasting is $4 (four samples), however, if you buy a bottle this is waived. (Note though, that is up to $4 waived and not per bottle). The bottles are reasonably priced around $13.99 ranging to the higher end with their reserves which are $28.50. Upon entry into the winery there's a painting of a winery with a description that says: "African winery where this dream was hatched, 1983." The gal tending bar didn't offer much more information about the winery or wines (other than what's on the menu) so we ventured outside after our tasting to take a look. The door on the backside by the bar leads out to the patio which has a fire pit, patio furniture, and some eclectic decorations, e.g. a grand piano (obviously as decoration and not playable). The winery has a lot of parking and I noticed a large tent. Chairs, were set up in the grass near the drive so they must have had a recent wedding. It was a nice afternoon trip! read more

After our initial wedding venue closed on us due to covid, it was truly God's intervention that we found next chapter winery. We couldn't have picked a more amazing place to get married. Jackie and Jeff are such wonderful people who truly care about their couples as people. They went so above and beyond for us from the second we booked. We recently had a wedding here. The venue is attractive and the wine is okay, but considering how much it costs to have an event here (over $5K) you'd think the owner would make an effort to be helpful. Instead he was sullen and completely unhelpful, which made the set up and take down more difficult than it needed to be. In addition, Next Chapter is really not designed to serve hot food for a large group (over 200 people) - there was not even a sink we could use. This might be an okay place to taste wines but be wary of planning an event here. read more

We originally had a reservation for couples 90 minute massage in the morning. Well, we were bummed when the massage studio cancelled 10 minutes before we arrived for our appointment. Anyways, we headed to this winery with a Groupon for a wine glass sample and a wine to take home. We found the wine glass sample too large and wanted more of a sampler. We both had a few samples as well as chocolate truffle. Afterwards, we settled on a sweet raspberry wine to take home with us. The hostess was so nice to be accommodating to have samplers of 3-4 wines vs. a whole glass of 1 wine. Also good to note is that there is a huge event center next the red barn where the tastings are. There was a baby shower so this place seems pretty busy and booked. The perfect place to have your events and parking is pretty decent in the back. read more

Very nice place! The attendant at the bar was the owners daughter. She was very knowledgeable and offered us a lot of insight into the different wines. I loved the look of the barrels in the tasting room. Bathrooms were a little weird as you had to go through the private area to find--but I've been to wineries where you had to use an out house...so not too much of a complaint. Loved the sauvignon blanc and I typically am not a fan of white wine. We did not try their menu. read more

Quickly became my favorite place to bring my Grandmother for lunch, the environment is amazing. We enjoyed watching everyone have a great time as the staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. I'm not a huge wine drinker but they have several that I like and have fun mimosa and wine float options for people like me. They also have a nice variety of other beers and spirits so there is always something to please everyone. The food, however, is mediocre at best. Not "bad," but nothing special at all and definitely leaves something to be desired. I don't think they have a full kitchen, so it's understandable. So if you are looking for a full dinner, I'd stop elsewhere. If they had food trucks on the weekends, we would definitely stop by more often, but I understand that would take for their food sales. My husband and I got married at Next Chapter Winery this past September - and if I could give them ten stars I would! Jackie the manager was SO sweet and SO easy to work with. She was more than accommodating for any of our requests, timely responds to emails, and is always welcoming whenever we wanted to drop by! Our day went perfectly - I didn't have a day or coordinator or wedding planner and I feel like Jackie stepped in to help throughout the day to help things flow as well as they did. Our guests loved the ambiance of the winery and barrel room and how it was a larger venue but felt intimate during ceremony, dinner, and reception due to the great set-up. Our pictures turned out amazing with the winery as the backdrop - and the guests loved the wine as well! This place is something you want to stay away from. They used to be okay but lately, the service has gotten really bad. The food is either cold or forgotten about and the wine tastes watered down and almost like it's gone bad. I went there not long ago and I bought a bottle of their rose and it said it was from 2014! That's 5 years ago - for a rose! I've seen the dogs and kids go in and out of the kitchen there as well which has to be a health hazard. They continue to increase prices and from what it seems like, they only care about weddings because that's their big "money maker", at least from what I was told by the bartender last time I was there. I miss the old bartender that used to be there. She was always super friendly and outgoing. I wish I could remember her name though. Anyways, these guys are letting their business go.
