Depending on which zone you're getting on and off will determine the price that you pay. Just remember that you need to pay before you board. You can scan your Clipper card at their kiosks or buy one on-site. Pro tip: if you have an iPhone you can set up a digital transit card and refill your transit card with your credit card. If you're going northbound you'll have to go under the tunnel to get to the right platform. This is a pretty big station and was pretty clean.

Efficient service, open spaced, limited guardrails / etc., ample parking, few amenities (no F&B), limited bathroom options, and generally gets the job done when you want to go from point A to point B. So not much (except ample parking) if you are expecting to grab a bite, etc. (although plenty of options in the neighborhood). Also, like many places in the U.S. the station may seem relatively understaffed. Other than that, trains themselves are often much more spacious, roomy, and sometimes just plain empty compared to elsewhere in the world.

Thought I would share some tips for someone who doesn't ride frequently. 1.) Clipper If you use a Clipper Card, when you tag in, it will charge you the FULL AMOUNT first. Once you tag out, it will "refund" you the difference. Example: Origin Station (Tag in) = San Francisco = Charge $14.70 Destination Station (Tag Out) = Sunnyvale = Refund $6.75 Total = $7.95 I was really confused by this at first since this is not how BART works where there is no charge at first and a charge after you exit. I definitely messed this up and even had to call Clipper customer service to help me fix one of my rides. 2.) Parking I thought there was ample parking at the station when I went but other reviews says it's difficult. I didn't have any issues here. 3.) Cleanliness For some reason this station was pretty dirty. There were homeless remnants (beds, alcohol, clothes) all over the elevators and trashcans that it felt kind of unsafe. However, when you get to the tracks with the other riders, it was much better. 4.) No Shade This station has like zero shade. You might find some minimal shade in places but it's virtually zero. Wear a hat, sunscreen, or even use an umbrella to block out the sun or rain if its raining.

One of the best things about the train is seeing all of the little towns along the tracks. One of my favorites is Mountain View. The train station is on the edge of a busy downtown street lined with shops, restaurants and interesting people. Step off the train and you're right in the heart of the action. There's plenty of parking and getting to either side of the tracks to access the north or southbound trains is super easy. The next time you're on the train, consider making a pit stop in Mountain View.

I've had positive experiences renting from Thrifty and Fox here, dependable rental vehicles at a…read moresuper cheap rate (like $10 per day), all within the last year. Most recently, I rented from Thrifty (again), for a lil road trip to central cali this past weekend, and the rental process was just as easy. If you book and pay in advance and bring the necessary materials (ID and credit card), use your own insurance, fill up your own gas (simply refuse all the extras when you check in at the counter), and understand that they will place a deposit on your credit card (don't waste time arguing about this, even if it's $1000, because you will get this back later), the process should be quick and easy. The only wait you might encounter is a possible line to get to the front counter. This happens to each car company at some point, or during popular days/times, but I often see or experience no lines when I visit the rental car center. What's more, you can skip all that with the convenient option of checking in online, which I took advantage of for my recent Thrifty rental. I was able to check in a week in advance, and select my car online about 20 minutes before my rental start time, went straight to the garage the day of my rental and the keys were in my vehicle, so quick and easy, it was awesome! Returning vehicles is easy too... just follow the signs and arrows (as you circle the airport and enter the rental return garage), they email your receipt, and you take the garage elevators back to the rental car center lobby. Basically you just have to come prepared and you'll probably have a positive experience.

There were times where I was contemplating renting a vehicle from them for different situations, but was skeptical. After this positive experience, I encourage others to give them a try.

The area itself is safe and you'll always see a handful of other cars in a well-lit large lot. I've seen patrol trucks once in a while which is reassuring. Bus waiting area feels sparse, but it's not on a busy street curb so that's a bonus. Escalator isn't always working. The light rail itself is generally on time with the schedule online. And yes, they DO actually check tickets! A large patrol crew travels between stops at sporadic hours and days--be a good citizen, and don't gamble... I think the ticket cost is really high? And Curtner to Tamien (the next stop heading north) is a longer length--perfect for checking tickets.
