Morgan's was a nice find as we were looking for lunch after moving to the area! The service was fast, friendly and attentive, the menu has plenty of choices but it was not overwhelming so I apreciatte that, however they could improve by adding some vegetarian options. The food was fresh, and tasty, and presented really well, but it was oily, specialy the spinach and and artichoke dip. As far as the atmosphere goes, it was not very loud, and the decor was your standard modern American restaurant style. I went mid-week around 4pm for dinner so it definitely wasn't crowded; people were in the bar which is visibly in the same room as the seated restaurant. Definitely a pub feel here. They have a big private party dining room that was being occupied. We got a booth in the big main room and my friend and I split the Asian shrimp for an appetizer. It was more deep fried than expected then i realized we're basically at a pub, so of course they'll have their share of deep fried food like fish n chips, which is on the menu. Our appetizer was coconut shrimp with a sweet/spicy sauce and was good. For the main, we both enjoyed their angus beef cheeseburger on a brioche bun with a veg side. And for dessert, we split the crème brûlée cheesecake which is a good mixture of tastes -- a sweet crunchy topping to the cheesecake but not overdone with sweetness. Nice time. read more

Morgans is more casual and the American Steakhouse style. Overall, the place is loud when it is full. Parking - Parking is really easy. Food - Overall, the steak was good. The wedge salad was not a traditional wedge; it was more of a how much blue cheese can we cram onto Romaine leaves. Good, but it could be better. The Montecristo sandwich was pronounced perfect. The warm brie was enjoyed; there was only silence while it was consumed. Deserts were good. It's definitely on our list of places to return and enjoy again!!! read more

We were heading to BWI and decided to stop here for dinner on our way. It's tucked away in a strip mall and the parking lot looked pretty packed. It's not a huge place, but we found a couple of seats at the bar area. The two bartenders were super friendly and greeted us immediately and got us a couple drinks. Their menu isn't overly extensive but there's a little bit of everything. I went with the Ruben sandwich and my husband had the chicken Chesapeake. Both were simple meals but excellent! For $13 I thought I'd get much more lettuce but the quality of food outweighed the quantity here. Tonight when I got home with my food and opened it an unmistakable overwhelming scent of CIGARETTES AND TOBACCO DIP was emanating from my food. I used to smoke cigarettes, so I know the smell. Also, when you walk into their establishment it smells like cigarettes as well. On top of that, the food is overly priced for their mediocre portions. Will not be going back. read more

Haven't been going as much over the past couple of years due to their ever-rising prices and smaller portions. The food is great but $48 for a filet is a little high for the market value in this area. They have improved their portion sizes, but the service has gone downhill. We had to ask for things several times (more than twice) and even though we were one of 2 tables, the waitress found it more important to clean tables and ignore us as she wouldn't even look in our direction as we tried to wave her over several times to let her know that we still didn't have items that we requested and our drinks were empty. They were swimming in grease!! brought out in a basket with literally an 8th inch of grease in the bottom and the fish just sitting in that getting all soggy and nasty. Went there on a Tuesday night. Our server Melissa was wonderful. She consistently checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The place isn't fancy but it's clean. The food was hit and miss and the biggest miss was for what should be a staple in any Maryland restaurant. We started with the chili which was delicious. Not too much else to put about chili. It's chili. For our meal we got the Monte Cristo and the crab cake. The Monte Cristo was really good and we'll definitely be coming back just to order that. The crab cake was god awful. As soon as it came out I knew it was going to be horrible. It was small and looked like they doused the top in Old Bay. I was still hoping for the best so I got my crackers and mustard ready. I took a small bit from the top and tasted it. It was not good at all. It tasted fishy and lacked any sort of lump meat. (which for $20 a crabcake, you should have some lump meat) I couldn't tell whether there was any imperial sauce in the crabcake or not. That small bit I pulled from the top was the only bit I ate. For a restaurant in Maryland, you have to do better on crabcakes or don't serve them. Melissa came back and cleared our plates and offered and then insisted that the crabcake come off of our bill. We ordered the pear crisp with cinnamon ice cream for dessert. The ice cream was good but the pear crisp was almost all butter with no identifiable pear anywhere in the dish. It could have been any flavor crisp and we wouldn't have known the difference. Overall, we'll be going back but have a better idea of what to order and what to absolutely avoid. read more

Two signs, on the door and one beside the door, say they open at 3:00pm the day we went there. 3:05 - the door was locked. We did a bit of shopping and came back at 3:30 - doors still locked. Called their number, no answer. Waited until 3:40 and left. If they can't be bothered to open on time, I can't be bothered to go there. I ate at Morgan's with a friend after work one Thursday night. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and it is conveniently located in the center of New Market. The bar area is a nice place to socialize-- they have a couple of beers on tap but mostly serve bottles. They have a variety of wines and liquors. I ordered the $5 happy hour appetizer, fried avocado wedges, and they were delicious. They were doused in a spicy chipotle sauce which provided a great flavor. I then ordered their seafood platter for $26. I noticed that previous reviews had rated their seafood highly, so I had relatively high expectations. The crab cake, mashed potatoes, and green beans were great. The salmon and shrimp however were extremely dry and over cooked. In fact, both were visibly burnt to a crisp in some areas. Needless to say, I was unimpressed by that part of the meal. Overall, I'd give this place 3 stars as there were some parts I really enjoyed and others that made me not want to visit Morgan's again. read more

Have eaten here scores of times over the years. Tonight, more or less after the main pandemic, my wife and I returned for the first time in over a year and a half. I was terribly disappointed. Allie, our long time waitress did her best. The food was pretty good, as always, but the service and wait times were unbearable. From the moment we arrived, we waited and waited to be seated. Took 20 minutes for a simple cocktail to arrive. No bus boys or (bus girls). The few wait persons, were running around like chickens with their heads cutoff. Way, way too freaking loud. Could not hold any conversation with my wife. I may try again, in another year or so. Otherwise they very well may have lost a long time customer. I realize that they are still suffering from the pandemic and it's consequences, but they shouldn't be open if they aren't ready to serve the public. read more

Human hair is not on the menu mixed in my crab meat sandwich. The first and only bite was a string of hair! I'm so super pissed right now! Come on, employees should be wearing hair nets and gloves when preparing food for people so this type of thing does not happen. I'm not okay with eating someone else hair! I will not be ordering food from here again. A entire dinner wasted due to lack of cleanliness! still super angry! Left a voicemail message for the restaurant and to date 7/6/2020 no return call that I asked for, no apology- nothing! I guess I'll need to take another route to get a owner to speak to me about this nasty experience I had. Our family recently held a wedding rehearsal dinner at Morgan's and our entire experience was wonderful, starting with the initial contact with Shannon to discuss making a reservation. Her flexible, warm and friendly personality made the whole process a pleasure. She made it clear that she and the staff would do everything possible to make our event what we wanted it to be. She made suggestions, guided us when asked, and accommodated our requests for additions and changes. The night of the dinner, Elizabeth and Kathleen took very good care of our group. They were friendly and gracious and the service was attentive and professional. The food was wonderful, from the Chicken Chesapeake to the Cheeseburgers, and everyone had a great time. The Crab Dip and Potstickers were especially a big hit with everyone! I would highly recommended Morgan's for a group dinner. It was all awesome. read more

Last visit waitress approached us after another waitress heard us discussing the bad service, and approached us in an accusing manor instead of asking what they can do better. Where to start...showed up and was told they might not be able to seat our group of 7...2 kids and 5 adults....the place was half empty and we still waited 15 minutes to be seated. We were told we could only be given 1 Childrens menu because they were very busy and also they were running low on the wax play sticks for the kids so they could only give one because they were trying to save them. They finally gave us another for my son though. We placed our orders and even the drinks were messed up. Somehow a lemon ended up in a sprite and the poor waitress had no idea "who put it there." (I feel bad for the waitress, she was set to fail by the kitchen). We finished placing our food orders and waited patiently. A family of 5 was sat down next to us and ordered. 50 minutes goes by and we finally received one small loaf of bread and butter..they received their entrees. 20-25 minutes goes by and the family is done eating and packing up their food to go. We still hadn't received our order. Finally it shows up, my dish was wrong which the waitress noticed right away and fixed, my sons mini frozen pizza was on a plate that the waitress said was too hot to be in front of a child so she sent it back to be put on a cold plate..my daughters chicken tenders and apple sauce were completely missing as they "forgot to make them." 15 minutes later and she finally has her fish flavored chicken tenders. Either they were cooked in dirty oil, the chicken was bad, or they were just cooked in the same basket as fish at the same time...there's no telling. The food was mediocre at best and I kept expecting Gordon Ramsey to jump out and shut the place down. Unfortunately for us., he didn't. The poor waitress was doing her best, so I don't fault her, but the kitchen, the hostesses (both were fairly rude and one clearly just came from gymnastics practice based off of her attire, headband and gymnastics jacket), and the management staff have to be out of their minds. The floors in the main room were littered with food and trash and the bathrooms were also a mess. I'm giving this place two stars because of the waitress's effort and the food being edible. Attached are pictures of three of the meals. The kids pizza, fish and chips and the "black" angus burger. Yes that is the patty of the burger and you can tell why it's named the "black angus"...it was supposed to be medium but was very well done. I do not recommend this place at all. May as well go to Popeyes next door. If you do decide to go here, call and place your order at least an hour and a half in advance and then hope that they can seat you in their half empty dining room when you arrive. read more

The food is good. It pretty much always has been. I'm giving them two stars for one reason and it was due to our experience on 12/2/2017. My wife and I had our first date night in a long time. We went out relatively early, maybe 6:30 or so. We ordered our drinks and the seated at the table next to us were two very inebriated and loud couples. The one lady was dropping f bombs constantly. Decent place where locals stop by for drinks and snacks and sometimes dinner. If I had to review a week ago it would have been one star, based on poor experiences years and years ago. Last night? Service was friendly, food was okay, the bar was relaxing and clean and they have some local beers on tap. The bartender was up to date with what they had on tap. We ordered some snacks. The ahi tuna appetizer had a really tasty sauce that went with it and was cooked nicely (lots of pink!) Unfortunately it tasted a little fishy, and not in the way it's supposed to. I have been here several times in the last month, got the fillet mignon both times and have been very happy with choice. I ordered medium rare it was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were outstanding. Wait staff were very attentive and helpful almost reading my mind at times. The single complaint I have is the bar noise much to loud at times.
