Ordered a medium well done burger and they brought out a raw patty. Tator tots were served too greasy and not properly fried. Iced tea refills served with no ice. When we arrived, we didn't realize there was a separate entrance for carryout, but the staff was great -- someone actually walked us to the correct pickup area instead of just pointing, which I appreciated. The order was ready on time and the process was quick and smooth. We ordered a kids steak for my daughter (her first time trying steak!) and she gave it a thumbs up. She especially loved the mac and cheese, but the portion was very small -- just a few bites -- compared to the much larger portion of fruit. A little more balance there would be nice, especially since the fruit ended up being a bit sour and she didn't eat it. The desserts were the highlight. The crème brûlée cheesecake was delicious, rich, and flavorful. The chocolate cake was huge and a hit as well. Overall, a solid takeout experience with friendly service and great desserts. Firebirds is a chain, similar to Yard House and other American-style places. I ordered their bacon cheddar cheessburger which came with a side of fries. They offer a lunch deal that offers a more elevated side for just $1-2 more, but I felt like the burger was filling enough. The service and food were great, but there was an ongoing sewage smell while my group and I were dinning. The bathrooms were also a little dirty, with no soap in the containers. I hope they're able to address/fix the scents because it really affected my overall dining experience. read more

Another stop my family and I made while traveling this summer was to Firebirds. It's a beautiful space indoors with plenty of free outdoor parking available. Most of us enjoyed our meal. A friend was in town for the holidays so a few of us got together to hang out before she returned home. It was my first visit to any Firebirds location and overall a good experience. The waiters were attentive and friendly. The place was clean, not noisy and had a cozy dinner ambiance. As for the food, I enjoyed the baby back ribs dinner. I went to Firebirds for my birthday lunch. It was the best lunch I could have asked for. Jackie the hostess, Becky the manager, and Rae the server made it an excellent experience! I was able to get something now quite on the menu, the service was excellent, and could not have been better. This is my favorite restaurant in Frederick. I am a retired food manager, and I am fussy. I highly recommend this restaurant if you have special dietary needs. After I placed my vegetarian & GF order with my excellent server Jacob, a manager came over to my table to inform me that the port mushroom side dish contained beef broth. So, I ended up with an entree of mixed vegetables, a plain baked potato, and charred carrots. I appreciate that the server and management care about allergies and dietary needs. This was my first time trying out Firebirds. I took my girlfriend out for her birthday and this is where she decided to go. They were a little busy when we got there but sat us after about 10 mins. It's a bit small on the inside but they do have a private party room that is quite large. She ordered one of their signifiers cocktails and it was very good. The bread they serve before the meal was also very good with the butter they provide. My meal was a 10 out of 10 with the aged ribeye with baked potato (the freshly graded cheese is a nice touch). They went above and beyond for my gf's birthday bringing out a card signed by the entire staff and a complimentary piece of cheesecake. Can't wait to come back. read more

The server was so kind and greeted us warmly and maintained eye contact which is such a lost skill nowadays. The manager came by and asked how we were doing and she was super sweet as well. The food was delicious! I had the shrimp and grits. The sauce was perfect and the shrimp was also seasoned to perfection. The only thing I didn't like were the tomatoes but overall 8.5/10. My boyfriend had the hot honey sandwich and he loved it. He took a bite into and we realized that it had two chicken patties and got hyped lmao. The restaurant was clean and so were the restrooms. My husband and I decided to give this restaurant a try for seventh year wedding anniversary. We have been to Firebirds restaurant before currently different state. As soon as we walked in, we are graded by three staff, who were very welcoming, and offered us a seat at the bar or patio while we wait for our table. Less than two minutes we were sitting at our table. if you like appetizers, we absolutely loved the eggrolls and deviled eggs! Main meals - ordered a Colorado salad and salmon spinach salad, but we changed out the salmon for steak instead. The drink pineapple vodka martini is now one of our favorites! Hats off to our waitress she was the best. Her name was MIA - so helpful, made great food and drink recommendations, pass by our table often to check in on us. We had visited a Firebirds once before (in northern Virginia) when I was unavable to truly enjoy what seemed a fine steak dinner. For lunch on a drizzly and dreary Monday, we were among the first to be seated here but weather notwithstanding, the dining room was at least half full by the time we left. Deservedly so, as we enjoyed the burgers and fries lunch special very much. The buns had an interesting, shiny egg wash on them - a nice touch and a cut above the ordinary. Our charming and affable waitress (Jame) did not know about the online special that drew us in via a marketing email, but cheerfully checked and then it was no problem. Drinks were attentively refilled and the fries here were pleasantly super-crisp (a thicker, hand-cut take on MacDonalds fries). This is a good thing - soggy fries need not apply. Burgers and fries only can earn a max of four stars by defintiion - hence the point deduction. The burger and the chicken sandwich both were generously sized and perfectly prepared. We also were in-and-out pretty quickly- a nice touch for lunch which might be attributable to our earlyish (11:45) apprival. We look forward to coming back for dinner sometime soon. read more

Firebirds Wood Fire Grill is one of the newer restaurants that opened in Frederick, and I'm glad there is another dining option. The food is very good quality and delicious. For appetizer we tried the deviled eggs, which were good and the candied bacon was sweet and salty. The rib eye steaks were cooked to perfection. My kids even loved their chicken tenders, fries, and broccoli. The portions are large. The service was very efficient and friendly. Our server Emily was excellent, and very thorough. We were seated right away after placing a call ahead reservation. The ambiance is casual, but nice for a good group or a romantic dinner for two. This was a 5 star experience! From the time we walked in, the hostess was very nice and accommodating as we needed a highchair and a sling for a car seat. They gave us both and a table that was spacious enough for our family. Our waitress, Brenna, came over and was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable and she was super informative. I ordered the three course meal: a BLT salad, salmon and shrimp, and the creme brulee cheesecake for a dessert all for $40. The salad was delicious, my salmon and shrimp was plated beautifully but I think my shrimp was slightly undercooked. Other than that, the salmon and veggies were amazing. I also enjoyed the cheesecake very much! I was full from dinner but couldn't resist the cheesecake after the first bite. The establishment was very clean, including the bathrooms. I liked the low lightening, it set the perfect mood and like I said before, everyone I interacted with with very nice. It was a very mixed bag for a birthday dinner and I wouldn't recommend going for that again. While the food for the most part was good, it was pretty spotty otherwise. One of the party got the wrong side as he asked for the chili and got the salad. Another person ordered some sirloin medium rare, but it came out totally raw in the middle. They graciously gave it to her to cook at home, but when they gave her a second one it was still raw in the center, they cooked it some more and it was better but not totally cooked as it should have been. The other dishes were very good. Service was pretty good but as I said one of the party got the wrong appetizer and they didn't let me order my dessert with the other people in my party. We have ordered delivery from here a number of times. Not being from here we thought the food was pretty decent for delivery even though it is expensive. Today we tried going to the restaurant for the first time. We had been really craving a good burger. While the hostess was very attentive, our server really was not. The restaurant was not super busy when we were there but everything just took a very long time. I will say we were pleased that there was a nice variety of seating options. Being short and fat myself and my husband having low mobility, we tend to prefer to sit in low chairs without arms and there were definitely plenty of those but there were also lots of booths, countertop tables and bar seats for those who are interested in that. steak fries were the best I think I've ever had. But our burgers both had stale buns and the cheese on my burger was so cold it was making the burger cool off quickly. Overall it was a disappointment for what we expected. read more
