My girlfriend and I decided to plan a last second date night in downtown and I have to give her the credit for picking Fire and Oak. We haven't been here since it was Firestones, which sold and is now Fire & Oak. When we arrived close to 6 the bar and their happy hour was absolutely jumping with patrons. The server didn't seem too eager or enthusiastic upon walking in and asking for a table, they DO NOT accept reservations, it's first come first serve. We originally sat at a small two person table, but asked the server if we could move to the large window with a street view of Frederick. Our server was so attentive and accommodating to us! We started off with a couple of cocktails which tasted great. She really liked her peppermint White Russian and my dark and stormy was good, you just have to mix it and the drink is layered. For our entrees I ordered the 12oz ribeye which came with mashed potatoes and the vegetable if the day ($45). The mashed potatoes were puréed and were some of the best I've ever had. They were so buttery and seasoned, I could have eaten an entire bowl. The vegetable of the day was tri-colored carrots which were very good. They still had some firmness to them, which I loved. The steak was good but not great. The cut wasn't the best quality. My girlfriend's blackened shrimp pasta was absolutely delicious. It's well-seasoned and comes with plenty of sauce and shrimp. I will get this dish when we come back! The overall dinner and service was great, we love sitting at the window watching downtown come to life. The inside still feels like it did when it was Firestones. We'll absolutely be back.

Visited the Frederick area for work on a Tuesday night and was recommended this lowkey bar & grill by the locals. 2 of our party of 4 were sat right away as we waited for the other two. Drinks were crisp with the perfect pour! I asked for a gimlet which not many places can manage to make right and our server/bartender kicked it out of the park. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we signed up for a spontaneous game of trivia, which began at 7pm. While we waited for the other half of our party to show, we ordered wings (not pictured because they SMACKED before I could snap a photo) and the goat and pistachio flatbread was which was an interesting and creative match. Once the other half of our party showed up we ordered entrees which were fairly large servings so we had to take boxes to go. 4 stars because the pistachio flatbread or the grease from the sandwich did not agree with my stomach. Otherwise I'd visit this place again when in the area.

Service at 5:30 pm on a Thursday in January 2026 was spectacular. Happy hour had the bar overflowing. Dinner tables slowly filling up. Definitely planning to update when friends arrive and dinner is over. Only downside is "No Reservations Accepted" for dinner. It is first come, first serve.

Lively atmosphere , basic food (burgers, fries, wings) all pretty good. Not a place to take a culinary risk.

Food was so salty for most people at our table that it was inedible. Service was also very slow.

It filled up fast, and there was a lively bar crowd, and also an engagement party celebration upstairs. All of the servers were so friendly, and happy to share their favorite dishes and beers, etc. We started with the wings, which were great, and then we had the house salad with salmon and the burger and fries. OK, I did not order the burger and fries, but my boyfriend did, and I ate half the fries on his plate, they were that good! Great, friendly, with generous pours for wine, and just a really friendly, great place with perfect food for a winter day. I wish I could find a place like this in Washington, DC.

There's a lot of potential here, but when your wagyu burger costs more than Le Diplomate's iconic burger in DC, I'm expecting something amazing. Every ingredient was very seasoned on its own, but when combined, the burger was overwhelmingly salty. I could barely taste anything besides salt. The cocktails were also overly sweet, and I regrettably had to send them back a couple of times. That said, our waiter's service was excellent. But this place needs a lot of improvement. Way too salty, too greasy, and overpriced.

I love how some people made signs that said ICE not wanted at the Ice Festival. Joe and I stopped at a place called Wags to get warm and a late lunch. You had to go down some steps to enter this basement bar/ restaurant. It was a toss between Fells Point meets Peabody book club. Joe was entirely intimidated. Dark, dingy, crowded with everyone from bikers, to Boomers to yuppies to kids. Luckily, a couple was getting up and we found a table. Joe actually ordered a cocktail apple cranberry whiskey, LOL. The Waitresses were scurrying around efficiently and we were able to place our order. The menu looked like bistro comfort food that I found on Yelp as we were leaving the Glass Warehouse close by. We had no idea what to expect but walking downtown Frederick on Market Street is always a pleasure. The food and the service were outstanding! Totally exceeded our expectations. The quality, quantity and value for your buck totally unexpected. And Joe went from being intimidated to inspired! Joe liked Wags so much that he left a $30 tip, which doesn't seem unusual but the bill was only $40 including drinks! On the way out I shook hands with a guy named Carlos who introduced himself as one of the owners . I observed him wearing every hat, from serving food to scraping plates and cleaning. if I have to drag my man to my glass Warehouse almost 2 hours away from home I better feed him, LOL we will definitely be back. Gr8 vibes, gr8 food, gr8 service on the down low. Took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. #WAGS #WAGSWAITRESSESROCK #FREDERICKMD #BESTSMALLTOWNFREDERICKMD #anythinginstainedglassc

Driving through the area late at night, we stumbled across Wag's with a craving for burgers. Though we weren't there to drink since we had a drive ahead of us, we loved watching the other patrons enjoying the bar scene. With daily specials and a great basement vibe, I can see why people love Wags. As for the food: the burger was just alright - but what can you expect when your meal is less than $10 per person? It honestly was perfect for the price point. The Wag Burger claimed to have a special sauce but we didn't taste it, which was fine because the burger was juicy, greasy, and hit the spot. The Philly cheese steak had a bit more flavor than the burger and was also a solid choice. Fries are fresh and made in-house, and I appreciated that you can salt them yourself and decide what toppings you might want to add. The menu is honestly huge for a dive bar, and all the food was solid. Shoutout to the staff here because after hearing how some drunk customers were treating them, they deserve all the tips in the world. Despite the staff being berated, dealing with intoxicated patrons threatening to run around nude, all while waiting tables with ease and kindness - you all deserve raises.

Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
