The things they sell are helpful to more than professional jewelers. My father, for example, is a botanist who studies mosses. He buys all of his hand lenses here (and then proceeds to wear them around his neck and continually get asked why he's wearing a whistle.) I like them for their beading cord and tool quality. This is the kind of place that is trying to keep itself a secret. THERE IS NO SIGN. Let me repeat that. THIS STORE DOES NOT HAVE A SIGN. They also keep their door locked a lot of the time, so you knock and look somewhat respectable and they let you in. (The store is located right next to the plasma donation place, and they apparently get some interesting characters in.) If you're an artist or a beader or a botanist/entomologist/etc. I highly suggest dropping in sometime. It will be worth your while.

I called them because it said here in a previous review that they do watch repair. It turns out they don't actually do watch repair, they only sell the parts. When I asked if they could recommend a repair person she asked who I was. When I told her my name she told me to just go to my local jeweler...which I'm pretty sure I could have figured out on my own, except I didn't want to do that. Well she refused to tell me of any local shops that work on watches. This must be the only business in Columbus that has more business than they know what to do with--as they sure don't seem very welcoming to new potential business.

YE Gurl Says: Service Matters More Than Sparkle at Worthington Jewelers…read more Place: Worthington Jewelers Context: Bridal show intro + in-store visits I really wanted to root for this one. I'm a fan of local, mom-and-pop businesses--especially for something as meaningful as wedding jewelry. Met the team at a bridal show, and while the energy felt a little off (crowds were heavy, so I gave grace), they warmed up enough to mention an extended bridal promo and encouraged me to stop in. So I did. And unfortunately... the experience never quite landed. When I came into the store, it was busy again--fair--but the interaction felt just as unclear as before. I explained exactly what I was looking for (even showed a Tiffany & Co. reference), and was immediately told customization was the only option... with no pricing guidance, no range, no transparency. That's a miss. When I did find a band in-store that worked, I moved forward--still without a clear idea of cost. After a long back-and-forth with a manufacturer, the quote came back at over $1,500 more than the comparable Tiffany piece. Pause. I also had to remind them about their own bridal promotion while actively making a purchase. That shouldn't be on the customer. To salvage the visit, I added earrings and dropped off jewelry for repair (which, to be clear, the smith work was excellent). But the buying experience? Still off. And here's where it really mattered: I later found my original ring through my Tiffany rep and called to cancel the order. Thankfully, I caught it in time--because buried in the fine print is that custom orders are non-cancelable. That's the kind of detail that should be clearly communicated upfront, not discovered later. Even the cancellation process felt like work. I was told someone would call me back... hours passed... I had to follow up myself to close the loop. Final visit to pick up my repaired jewelry? Empty store, but still somehow rushed. I tried to browse, got prompted to check out early, asked about items I'd previously seen--and was told they didn't exist. Then spotted them right next to me at checkout. At that point, I paid for the repair work and left with the same energy I walked in with: rushed, unclear, and not particularly welcomed. YE Gurl Insight: There's a difference between *nice* and *kind*. Nice feels scripted. Kind feels intentional. And in a category like jewelry--where purchases are emotional, high-investment, and personal--experience is everything. Final Take: * Craftsmanship (repairs): Strong * Retail experience: Inconsistent at best * Pricing transparency: Lacking * Overall vibe: Off I understand why more people are opting for brands like Tiffany & Co. or even online retailers like Mejuri --you get clarity, consistency, and a smoother experience without the friction. YE Gurl Says: Support local when it feels good to do so. But if the experience makes you second-guess a meaningful purchase? Trust that instinct and move accordingly.

From my first visit and every single time since, I have been treated like family by everyone on their team. The owner/designer, Brad, recreated my wedding set; it's beautiful, unique, and comfortable. He took the time to listen and understand what I wanted. Now he knows what I want better than me. Yes, really... he does! I showed him a picture of a necklace I saw, which caught my eye, but wasn't quite right, not "the one". He personally designed and handcrafted the perfect pendant which I love! He found a cost-effective way to modify a chain I already owned. Thanks to him, my diamond earrings are beautifully set enhancing their sparkles and are easy on/off with secure backs. My pandora bracelet is no longer "pandora's box". The beads are secure and don't fly off when I put it on or take it off. I can finally wear my tennis bracelet without fear of losing it. Appraisal paperwork was extremely detailed and immediately provided to me; multiple copies, in a binder I won't misplace. No hassles. No delays. Finding the right, trustworthy, talented, and professional small business to take care of me with my sentimental and valuable possessions was my goal. Mission accomplished! My days of walking into a fine jewelry store and not knowing the people who I'm doing business with are over.

I also just bought a promise ring for my significant other. I worked with Jennifer, the store manager, and she helped me pick out the perfect ring. She took her time to help me find the right ring, and did everything she could to make sure I was completely satisfied with the ring I chose. Very happy with the quality of service, as well as the jewelry I've gotten from there. If you're looking for jewelry in Columbus, Ohio, go to Ashcroft & Oak in Polaris. Sam and Jess helped me get exactly what I needed for an engagement ring…read more UPDATE 10/21/25: I'm sad that I have to make this update. I just now received the resize for my band, so now I feel that I can make this complaint known. In short, my fiancé loved her engagement ring. After we got engaged, we decided to go back to pick out the band that she wanted to go with it. The one that fits closest to her ring was apparently in New York and the only one available. My fiancé and I are long distance, so we requested that it be sent to the location closest to her so that she can try it on before I buy it. If they were not able to do do this, then they would call us so that we would be able to work it out with the other store. A few weeks passed and we heard nothing. I happened to be in the area and swung by to ask about a resize for my ring. While doing this, I asked if there were any updates on the band that we requested to be transferred. As it turned out, the band was sent to the Polaris location instead of the location that we requested; it had also been there for a while according to Jess. I then ask if it could be held until my fiancé would be in town in a few weeks. I'm told that they can't promise that. I then ask if it could be sent to the other location as initially requested. She then tells me that "If they do that, then they won't get the credit for the sale". She then proceeds to try and get me to buy the band that day, even though we agreed that we weren't buying without trying it on first. After this, my fiancé and I called the other store to explain the situation and try to get them to mail in the band. They agree to contact this location to get it mailed in. Not long after this call, I then get a call from this store telling me that the band "just came in" and it's available to look at/buy. No it didn't. I was in 3 days prior (at that point) and saw it for myself and I was told that it had been there for a while. So they just lied to me on top of everything else. I explained that I already made other arrangements to have it sent to the other store and she hung up. Fast forward a couple days and my fiancé gets a call that this location is refusing to sent the band over. We had to call corporate and they had to put in a request to have it sent over. To say I'm disappointed in this experience is an understatement. I would have kept this as a 5-star review and recommended this place to anyone else looking for jewelry. However; going against our request without communicating with us, pressuring me to buy under circumstances that were clearly against our wishes, lying to us, and making the process more difficult to where we had to go to corporate to get it resolved (all to have the credit go all to yourself) is an unforgivable display of poor customer service. I am not accepting any templated apologies nor will this location be receiving any more of my business.

I don't know how purchasing jewelry from this store is. My review is just about getting rings…read moresized/repaired. I stopped in based on the reviews. I have a ring that had a 3.0+mm wide and 2.3mm depth band. It needed to be sized down almost a full size. I took it in and was guaranteed they could do it no issue... They told me the band would get thicker because they would be bringing the thicker sides in. I left it with them for a week, as I don't live in Columbus . I was so happy to get it back and didn't really notice until about half an hour later: my ring hurt to wear. I took it off and looked at it and I was devastated. You could feel where they cut the shank, it was wavy, the was no uniformity to the edges, and it was oblong. I called and they apologized profusely. Asked me to take it to the store in Cleveland and they would let that store know we were coming. They did not. The store in Cleveland had no idea I was coming. Turns out, I paid the store in Columbus for the honor of someone ruining my ring. It lost nearly half a mm in depth and thickness. The store in Cleveland did the best they could. They would have had to order shanks and tried to color match the rose gold but it could have ended worse than before. Turns out the Columbus store didn't even resize it correctly and left it a quarter of a size too big. So unless you want your jewelry ruined, take it anywhere else. We were going to purchase an engagement ring from this company, but I'll take my business to alibaba before here. The store manager did refund my 125 resizing fee, or the fee I paid them to take gold out of my ring and leave me with something I couldn't wear. He told me it was weird that it ended up thinner than before because "taking a ring in shouldnt do that". My ring was 2.5mm wide and 1.9mm depth before the Cleveland. Actually fixed it. My question is this: where is the material they took out of my ring and why was I not compensated for that when they trashed my ring? My ring will never be the same. Go anywhere else.
