I had only done hot yoga once before but have practiced yoga off and on for appx 15 years. I ended up going here as a last minute decision when our original class got canceled. I really enjoyed it! I'm not a big gym - workout person but this is a workout I could actually see myself keeping up with. I was sore after the first couple of classes, but in a good way. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 b/c it says that it is for all levels, including beginner but I do not believe that is true. If you are a true beginner, you will be lost. You, at the very least, need to know the names of basic poses. The instructors typical do not do the practice with you but are talking you through most of it. I personally love the classes but if I had gone here as a beginner I would have been really intimidated and felt totally out of place. If you have some yoga experience and are looking for a good workout then this is the place for you! read more

Great Baptiste-syle Power yoga! I left completely soaked and very happy. The classes are taught in a faster paced yoga style. Challenging but still good for beginners. I would suggest if you're new to yoga you attend a few Iyangar classes at Inner Life Yoga first, they'll help you with the positions and what you're supposed to feel in each pose. Then come to Power Yoga Morgantown for a workout! Not that PYM does not review form and the positions, but I personally felt it helpful in my practice to have the poses down first, then in a faster paced class I know what I'm supposed to do. I just moved to Morgantown from Seattle and was eager to find a new studio - to both work out at and also to hopefully find some new friends! I have been to this studio twice now and both times have left feeling totally detoxed and rejuvenated (and drenched!). The next day I am totally sore, it really is an excellent full body workout. The instructors all are fun, motivating and good-natured. I really like that they correct my form throughout the class, as I am by no means a yoga-expert. I also really like that there isn't a mirror in the studio - I prefer not to watch myself struggle! Two wishes I have for this studio: -Water fountain for filling up water bottles -Music during class, not just the cool down. This yoga studio changed my life. I was familiar with yoga but had never tried a Baptiste power flow. The first few classes kicked my butt! If you're just looking to get in shape, you'll definitely find that here--the classes are challenging without being overwhelming, and it's a wonderful, energizing full body workout. It is great for all levels--if you are just starting out there are modifications, and if you're advancing there are many opportunities to take poses further. But what makes Power Yoga Morgantown so special is the sense of community. The space is calm and welcoming, and the people, both staff/teachers and other yogis, are friendly and open. It is a safe space to learn more about your self and your body and to heal yourself physically and mentally. If you are feeling "stuck" in your life, this place is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to explore new places in life without ever leaving your yoga mat. I have always felt welcomed and supported here. There is a 2 weeks for $25 intro special, so I recommend trying that--it's a great way to get familiarized with the style. They also recently expanded the schedule so there are a lot of classes to choose from, so it's easy to fit it in around work and other commitments. When I first moved to Morgantown, I had hoped to find a way to stay flexible and strong. PoYoMo took my practice to the next level, and I am so grateful for the amazing experiences I have had here. read more

Did a drop-in class ($15- very reasonable) while in town for business. The instructor was super friendly and it was a great heated class. Baptiste style- anyone accustomed to a power flow class will feel right at home. read more

This yoga studio is great for someone new like myself. I felt very comfortable with the speed of the class and the moves involved. I was challenged, but didn't feel overwhelmed. The instructors were incredibly helpful and you can feel the passion they have for their work. If you are looking to start a transformation with your mind and body, this studio is the place to be. read more

I travel to Morgantown for work on occasion and took a class with Jared at Power Yoga Morgantown tonight and it was an awesome experience. The style of class was a little different than what I get in my usual studio at home (power yoga is a little faster paced). The music was great - relaxing, but still hip and upbeat, not the usual "yoga soundtrack" but a little more rock n roll. The studio is new and beautiful with local artwork and they even had free mats for me to borrow since I hadn't thought about bringing mine along this week. The class was small, so Jared was able to help and encourage each person in the class through poses that were challenging and I was even able to do a headstand and a few lifts through this process. I will absolutely be back later this week and likely next time I am in town. read more
