Good prices, friendly employees and lots to offer! Was a little overcrowded with shoppers during COVID.

Furnishings and household decor are arranged to resemble my own living spaces at home. Everything is sorted and arranged into departments - and the store is huge. Frequently stop in because they are always getting in new items. Plus, it is a convenient place to donate our own things that we are ready to part with but still have more life in them.

It's a huge part of my life and thrifting is an inch I always need to scratch. Found this thrift shop while heading to Pottstown. At first glance it doesn't appear to be much but once inside you're transformed to a very nicely decorated and organized retail space - at least in the first few rooms. As you stroll thru the building the organization and display become less and less enticing into you reach the back which is literally like an unheated warehouse with stuff everywhere, somewhat organized. I did enjoy myself digging thru and discovering cool things but was deterred by the pricing which was more in line with an antique store than a thrift store. However quality for the most part (with the exception of those back rooms) was decent. In one of the rooms were handpainted portraits on large canvases, tons of them of different everyday, ordinary people. I enjoyed looking thru them to see if it was anyone I knew. Literally there was tons of them! Upstairs you'll find clothing and shoes, which felt like raiding a nursing home closet but not in a cool vintage way. Very matronly and not of current styles. Also clothing was very limited, probably primarily because of lack of space as the upstairs is a loft like area. There is a room for boutique items - with prices to match, only the brands were mall brands and nothing special. It is hard to maneuver in those rooms, and especially to social distance. I didn't feel comfortable up there at all. They did have some good stuff, but again nothing I was willing to pay that much for so I ultimately left empty handed. I will say this, don't let the run down, drab exterior fool you, if you're into the hunt like me this is one place you'll want to explore.

I consulted my handy dandy Yelp app and found that there was this Goodwill right nearby! Awesome! So off I go This Goodwill is in a larger shopping center serving a more rural area. There are some larger/big box stores, some smaller stores and this Goodwill, which was a good sized store. It was pretty easy to find and there is parking right out front, which was extra good as it was a rainy day Inside the store was easy to navigate, with good sized space in between aisles and you don't really have to go through one section to get to another, which is super nice. For example, you don't have to get through clothing to get to housewares. I headed over to the housewares, which was as typical arranged by color. I found a mix of things I was interested in and things I was not, however there were no broken items or things in poor condition. I then cruised over to clothing, where there were some nice pieces, however as it seems to be with the Goodwill stores in general in our area, I found the pricing was a bit high for the items they had. Still some bargains to be found, if you want to hunt I found checkout to be quite easy, and the staff to be pleasant and unobtrusive. The store was clean and well lit I am certain that should we be out in this area again, this Goodwill will be on my list of places to check out.

My nose was running and I thought it was due to all the older stuff in the store but turns out the store is dog friendly. The dog was sitting out the counter as I walked out. I stumbled across this "thrift" store on an outing thrifting in the area. I was searching for kids…read moreclothing and toys, as well as always on the lookout for Little Mermaid and unicorn items for my granddaughter. Their "sister" store is a few miles down route 23 on the opposite side of the street. The clerk at this location told me go there for the items I was searching for. After being at both locations and reading Cindy's review and viewing her pictures I think her review is for the other store; Lucky Dog thrift. This store, although run down, cluttered, and more of a co-op is not organized but is better than the pictures depict. A few parking spots line the side of the building, which is run down. An abandoned store is next door. Although items weren't as jam packed and cluttered as the pictures it wasn't the greatest as far as organization. Isles (if that's what you want to call it) are narrow and maybe booths representing different vendors although not outlined as such. Fragile items and glassware are in abundance so do be very aware of your large handbag. I wouldn't even think to take a child in here. Overall the place is dusty and musty. Prices are very low, like yard sale prices. There's a table of jewelry for $2 each or 3 for $5 that are worth a look. Vintage and current pieces alike are in that pile. Most of the inventory is vintage (like 70-90's) and nick knacks. I was able to find two porcelain unicorn figures for my granddaughter that I purchased for $1 apiece. It was extremely cold in there, to the point that you could see your breath, and the clerk had on her coat so I assume the building is not heated. The elderly clerk was very, very friendly and engaged in conversation with other customers. I was surprised that I wasn't charged tax. When I inquired she said they didn't have a "tax account" so they didn't collect it. I probably shouldn't be advertising this but that was her response. The store looked and felt like it was there forever so I doubt they opened recently and assume they've been selling like that for some time. I hesitate to call this thrift because clearly it's a co-op/junk store. You won't find clothes or toys unless they're from the 70-90's and what I did see had condition issues. If you're into knick knacks and glassware and enjoy rummaging through inventory this is your spot. For me it was a miss and I wouldn't make a return visit.
